    I've had my .25 long barrel version since last Friday. After putting about 200 shots through it I feel it was definitely worth the $290 I paid for it in Macavity's sale of the Genesis pre-production models. I did replace the moderator with a baffled one that I 3D printed. It is much quiter with the loud pop removed. Groups of 5 shots at 50 yards are consistently within 3/4". Need to decide how to modify the moderator that came with the rifle for the best results.

      How do you like the 30 cal? I was considering a 25 cal, but the more I see on that 30 , the more it seems like it might be the best choice. This will be only my 2nd pcp, I have an AEA Megalodon that’s a 50 cal, the thing is amazing , I was stunned by the rifles performance. So I wanted something side lever and smaller caliber and regulated, the Meg is a full power rifle, so I wanted to get a regulated gun. The 50 cal is also very loud and I want another rifle, don’t want to spend almost the cost of new rifle on a moderator for the 50. I’m really liking this rifle in the review. Not that sound level is really a factor for me, I’m not restricted to low noise as I live out in the sticks. If I were rich I would get that new AEA MCAR, they are about to release a 2nd version of the Challenger pro that will have adjustable hammer spring and regulator. It has a longer barrel supposed to be very accurate and tunable , It will be at least 1k I would imagine. This MA2 is priced really well imho. Im going to get one, idk if it will be 25 or 30 though yet😂😂😂.

      @@noonespecific9463 it seems solid. Really only time will tell. It is kinda loud but as best I can tell it’s got a decent barrel and it’s powerful enough to shoot light slugs. The way mine came I’m only getting around 16-18 shots but it’s shooting really good so I wouldn’t wanna change anything I just wish it could take maybe 3800-4000 psi then we could get our 24 regulated shots… my manual also doesn’t say anything about adjusting the regulator tho. Mine also came dirty. I don’t ever clean barrels from the factory but this one you might want to. I’ll try some other kinds of pellets and slugs but so far best I got was with JTS dead center 45 grain pellets. They all were in one hole it was like .40” and the H&N slug hp 50 grain had a string of 3 vertically but touching and one on bottom left of it and one on the bottom right of it but all touching and a little less than half inch from 45 yards. I got like a inch and a half group with FX hybrids but I suspect they would do better and better as you shoot more of them and the polymags were hitting super close to where I was already zeroed for the dead centers. Just hitting a little to the right but the .30 MA2 probably got the best group I’ve ever had with polymags. They don’t cycle in them factory magazines though, gotta go one at a time but I feel like that helped me slow down and take my time too because I didn’t have high expectations for them but the group was all touching and about 3/4 inch

    I can see already that a very secure barrel band will be a great addition for this model.

      Might help. I have also seen barrel bands do nothing for accuracy. May help with poi shifts if bumped in the woods?

    I like mine 🎉 I uploaded some videos with my MA2 .30 plinking and some 47 yard groups with AEA 52 grain slugs and FX hybrids… it’s absolutely sub moa with pellets to be honest I was getting one hole groups with JTS pellets but I’m out… my picture is a group with my MA2 😂 but I was able to get damn close with the hybrid 44.5 grain and almost 90 fpe with the 52 grain AEA slugs. I wish I had a scope camera tho

    My biggest complaint with the gun is that flimsy pic rail under the forend, using a bipod on its near worthless. I think if they fix that its a fairly decent gun for the price. Nice video Chad 👍

      100% decent for the money. Agree on the stock, but the lines of this platform really do look good. Hopefully I will be able to do a follow up on the production model.

      @@Moses1973 It's been crickets from them on when I can expect a production model. In my opinion sending out a bunch of pre-production versions is kind of a waste of time for everyone. Even if I got one now it would take many weeks to produce a worthwhile review.

    Nice results from this prototype. After Cattleman and other "New" startups. i'll wait to see many reviews before I buy. Plus going up against the pricepoint leaders like; AvengX, JTS, and Gauntlets will be tough to do.7

    My .30 has put some great one hole groups on paper so far… I don’t care about the bipod rail I’m more of a sandbag kinda guy anyway. I’m getting 16 rounds with pellets and maybe 13-15 with slugs… the slugs have been grouping good but there’s sometimes a flyer here and there. I had an issue twice so far when I tried to take the magazine out with ammunition still in it, it wouldn’t come out so I just emptied it and it came right out but it hasn’t happened lately I think I’m right over 350 rounds so hopefully it should be a while before anything needs to be done 🤞

    I'm a springer guy thinking about PCPs. The added costs for refilling options is prohibitive. I think I want a regulated model for consistency, like a springer. Avenger for $350 is HARD to beat. If the $320 Airacuda came w/ a regulator for $350 I'd consider that one. I know the Airacuda Max has a regulator for $450, along w/ the new Avenger for $450. I was turned onto this Macavity due to the .22 shot count, but seems flimsy. May wait for future versions. Idk. Air tank and compressor is gonna run $1k, + the price of the gun. $1500?????? ty

    I really like that gun , not in 22 though, 25 or 30 caliber, probably 30. This is the 4th or 5th review I’ve watched, 2 of those other were showcasing long version 30 calibers and they were both like lasers. I have a fifty cal AEA Megalodon, so I might go with a long version 25 caliber as I sort of have larger caliber covered. I wish I had more experience with a 25 caliber, this rifle would be a way to get that at a decent price point. I want to get a decent optic with reticle etched into glass, I recently purchased a new optic for a .17hmr , the first one I’ve ever owned with etched reticle, I’ll probably never buy any other type from here on out. Adjustable paralax and etched reticles are fabulous. I dislike led emitted reticles, just because they are electronic and should they fail if you don’t have a backup sighting system you are out of business at that moment. I know many of them are very tough and reliable, what can I say , I’m old and old school I guess. I wonder why the .22 is less accurate moderated, this is the first time I have heard that issue, so far it seems the .30 cal is the most accurate right out of the box, I haven’t seen a .25 demoed yet either, so maybe the heavy 25 cal stuff will do better. Thank you for this content! Learned several things about the rifle here. I will sub and hit the good bell.

    Hey Chad! How did you adjust the hammer spring on the prototype model? I have the same one but didn't wanna mess with it. Wasn't sure if it was the central silver allen bolt or the black wheel thingie. Let me know, man!

    • @AirgunAdvisor
      @AirgunAdvisor  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a set screw on the side of the action that locks that silver wheel down. Loosen it, then adjust by turning the silver wheel left or right.

      Flimsly pic rail and let’s be honest. Those groups were pretty bad. Other price point guns such as avenger and Airacuda blow that performance away. However it is one sample. Other calibers I have seen on TH-cam from macavity do better.
