- A $500 eating contest? Getting paid $500 to eat spicy rice? Count me in! Today we are checking out and enjoying some famous African jollof rice. We had "seven minutes" to eat as many bowls of spicy jollof rice as we could in hopes of winning $500! The rules given to us: 1. Eat as many bowls as possible, 2. None... there were none (note, no rules were shared about liquids especially)! Seems straight forward, right? WRONG! This rice dish cooked with tomatoes, peppers, spices, is a deep, red and very flavorful, rice, originating, and very popular in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and many areas of Africa in the world! This African food eating contest took place during the Nigerian day festivities in Houston Texas. There were essentially no liquids to be found, and let’s just say there was a little bit of a trickery and odd behavior by some other contestants.. can we win the $500 cash prize by eating the spicy jollof rice? Or will this spicy food challenge and spicy eating contest burn us up! Well it’s the difference between beating your opponent and humiliating them. Joel as a professional food contest veteran and competitive eater could have probably put away double or triple the amount he had done but then he would have to look all of those people in the eye afterwards. He new he was in for a comfortable win and that is why he slowed down, it had nothing do do with fairness, if he had wanted fairness he would have disqualified himself from the competition for being a professional up against amateurs.

It's feasible that a few bowls may have been stuck together during the initial count, but there is no way that he could have over counted when counting one by one. Hey! I enjoy your videos and your cheery disposition is infectious. There is a taco joint in mount Washington Kentucky that has eating contests. They had a sign 50 dollar buy in, 500 if you win. Sissys tacos. They have a bruiser burrito that's 2 pounds and it can feed 4 to 5 people.

Especially if they join a competition outside their normal area. It would be impossible to control and just result in individuals being accused of being a professional eater when another contestant is upset they lost.

He was so jealous you can see it on his face during the entire competition… he’s a grown as man snitching about some water AFTER stealing your water. He is a low class human being and makes Africans look bad. It’s unfortunate for these types and unfortunately can be common amongst African men. They can be sore losers.
