    It was a long lived in various forms department store:
    "Opelousas Abdalla’s closed on February 20, 1985 and after extensive interior remodeling, was reopened by the new owners on March 30th. Viviano ran the business for a short time, with a grand opening in August of that year. But the business did not survive and eventually it was permanently closed on September 27, 1986. According to newspaper accounts, Viviano stated the store was closed for a number of reasons including lack of local support, plus a lawsuit filed by some members of the Abdalla family, claiming Viviano had no right to use the Abdalla name, made it difficult to do business. Since that time the old Abdalla’s building has remained vacant on Main Street in downtown Opelousas. George, Jasmine and the entire Abdalla family did so much not just for Opelousas, but for all of Acadiana. When their stores closed, the commercial district in downtown Opelousas, and other area towns, was forever changed."

    Your breakdowns of the statistics on this channel are very impressive. I would have though that Louisiana was one of the worst states since they have both Monroe and Alexandria in the top 10 for violent crime BUT when you wiped out the chart showing it as # 4 i was honestly surprised. I learn so much from this channel about different areas because of the quality information you put out, that i personally thank you for all your efforts.

    Traditional cajun and zydeco could also contain a fiddle. There is at least one song named after the city. Opelousas Town, Opelousas Sostan and Opelousas Waltz are three I know of. Cajun band leader Rufus Jagneaux is from there.
    I drove through Louisiana early last year, and was surprised by the amount of decaying towns. Spent the night in Monroe, historic and partly preserved, but a lot of abandoned decaying structures.

    Abdalla’s of Opelousas - In 1895, George Abdalla (1865-1951), with his wife Jasmine (1884-1976), left New Orleans and moved to St. Landry Parish. It was in Washington that he started his business as a “cart peddler”, traveling around the area selling clothing and other merchandise. It wasn’t long before he moved to Opelousas, where the railroad made the town a more desirable place to do business.

It would be more clear to understand if he was to go to the local courts interviewed the people who are being prosecuted or go to a local teachers meeting and don't interview the bored but the individual teachers. The statue in the beginning of the video is a cue to what is going on here and most towns in the south....

    • @NOLAgenX
      @NOLAgenX 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Most "dangerous" places are not dangerous all over the city or town. There are pockets of high crime that unfortunately cause an overall high rate of crime. Statistically as a state, Louisiana is among the top 5 for danger. Yet there are towns all over the state where any real crime is nearly nonexistent. The same thing is present within town and city boundaries that have high crime stats. There are certain areas that you should avoid, or if you do need to pass through, then mornings are best.

Please forgive me. My brother, there is still a brotherhood of faith. I asked you for a bag of flour. My brother, we women cannot go out among men. There is still a woman with you. My brother, God has honored you. You are men. We are women. We cannot go out or work like you. My brother, where is the brotherhood of faith in your hearts? We are women. There is no brotherhood, no mercy, no compassion, no humanity. And give good tidings to the patient. It is the greatest hope while waiting for what we want. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' How many times I called and talked and tried hard, but no one responded. Oh man, we are with you. My mother ordered us food from the restaurant. Moreand today. My mother left. Crying. She said, Why are you crying, my mother? She said, My daughter, I ask. God, that I may be honored by death. She said, Why, my mother. She cursed us. She said, "My daughter, today the restaurant owner insulted me. I said, 'Why?' I said, 'How can I be better than people?' I ask God, my daughter. May God gather me. With death alone, a gathering that is better than this humiliation and this humiliation. It is true. I am saying this. It diminishes my value and respect. But, man. I swear to God that I did not say this. I kiss your boots. I am so hungry that my conscience no longer allows me to let you go and ask us for food. I kiss your boots, man, and I ask you by God Almighty and in the Book of God, man, I kiss your boots, man. He has caused us harm, my brother, so that we can buy a kilo of flour and pay the rent. My brother, have mercy on us. He who is in the show will have mercy on you, He who is in the sky. My brother, this is my WhatsApp number: 00967772168484. Whoever can help us,message me on WhatsApp. We will send him the full name. He will transfer us as much as he can. May Allah reward you. Allah knows that my family and I, our house rent is 15 thousand Yemeni riyals per month, and now we owe 45 thousand for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of those people who do not have mercy. By Allah, my brother, he comes every day and humiliates us and talks about us and wants to throw us out of the house and into the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. We will have until the end of the week, and if we pay him, he will swear by Allah that he will throw us out into the street without mercy. See my situation for yourselves. I ask you by Allah, the Living, the Eternal, to help me. By Allah, the Almighty, even at night we cannot sleep from fear. We do not have mattresses or blankets to warm ourselves from the cold. Everything is flooded from the rain, and we have no one but Allah and then you. My brothers, I kiss your boots, don’t turn me awayempty-handed. Help us with whatever you can. Is it acceptable to you that we live in this place? We are girls and we have no one. Our father died in a car accident. Consider us your daughters and your honor, and help me with whatever you can.
