Located in Little Rock, Arkansas' historic Quapaw Quarter Historic District this lovely home is nestled within blocks and blocks of beautifully restored homes of this era. Living in this neighborhood is like taking a trip back to the end of the 19th century, with homes showcasing all the best of Victorian Era design, and most of them fully restored to their original glory.
This home has been owned by the Herman family since 2011, and during that time they have undertaken a massive restoration of the property. Original elements blend beautifully and seamlessly with salvaged pieces that have this home shining like it did when it was newly built.
Some of our favorite design details are the painstakingly applied stencils around the perimeter of most of the rooms, copied from period pattern books and done in authentic Victorian era colors. Add to that the delicious newel post and banister, the huge pocket doors, all the gleaming period hardware and you have an absolute prize of a home!

Love brick Victorians. My hometown is Louisville, Kentucky and we have a whole downtown neighborhood of only brick Victorians. They were popular as bricks came down the river on barges.

This one has some really terrific features. And I'm partial to the griffins stenciled on the main parlor ceiling. :) I like that the kitchen and bathrooms have kept a period feel. Great master closet. And I love the Gentleman's parlor or den. Great spaces! People complain that Victorian houses are pokey and dark, with lots of little rooms, but this one has a great flow. The pocket doors and other openings allow for light and access, and those tantalizing glimpses of the next room. The entry hall is quite wide and large. It screams for a cozy settee and a reading nook under the stairs. Thanks for doing this tour.
I am in love with the stencil work and the painted ceiling medallions and the detail painting in, what I assume to be, the young girl’s bedroom. This has the lovely flavor of a Queen Ann but it’s very liveable for a family. Thank you again for showing us this lovely home.🌸

Spectacular home. Woodwork!!! Make's sense to addition off the back, rather than force a new kitchen. & second floor space. Stair carpet prevents falls and protects treads.
That is a beautiful house! Love that fun bedroom with the fun mantle over its fireplace! That large shower in that bathroom is beautifully done!

Hello from MI. This is my first time typing to you. I love your channel. The tours and the restorations are fun to watch. You are easy to listen to. Some of the houses are too ornate for me. This one is perfect as long as I have a housekeeper or two. The day to day dusting is a lot. I love the clawfoot tubs. Both grandparents had them in their 1920s or so houses. I need more storage in the kitchen. Free standing cupboards. The walk in closet and shower are to die for. I would have to strip the upstairs woodwork back to like downstairs and get rid of the striped walls. Also the one bedroom was too ornate with the gold. I knew one set of great grandparents. They built a Dutch Colonial, if I have the name right, around 1912. This woodwork reminds me of it. Keep up the great shows.
I can't believe nobody mentioned this, but I really like the electric fireplace inserts! It can give that ambiance while avoiding all the heat of a wood or gas fire. From what I've seen they're pretty economical to install too. It's surprising how realistic they look as well.

It’s like someone in the early 20th century took out some of the Victorian details and changed it to early Arts and Crafts style.

Beautiful home! I always get nervous when I see those electric bikes stored indoors. Their batteries are such a fire hazard.

If anyone feel and experience spirits, ghosts wanting people to leave their house- don´t have to be that in this case- I tell you - this happens all over and it doesn´t matter where people move. Just incase - moving will not help and hopefully true help is soon to come for humans.
