This home is so beautiful and lovingly cared for. Marjorie gave us a wonderful tour, full of knowledge, history and lovely stories of previous owners and her family. Her southern accent is just divine, and her grace so beautiful. Thank you, Marjorie, Kevin and Laine,.
I absolutely love this video...Margorie was absolutely delightful..To be a 4th generation home to her, was amazing. She was a great historian and her love for this home was so beautifully spoken in her very stately southern voice. The fact that some of the actual paint still on the walls, the teakwood cornices amazing. Mr. Cannon, loving the swans, he no doubt had on his lakes, painted such a lovely picture of his memories of Scotland. I could say more, but there is not enough space. From original quilts, to the artwork, the beds made from the Mississippi woods, and the stories behind them, this video is so special. I fell in love with Mrs. Matgorie, she made you feel right at home with her southern hospitality. Anyone who stays there is most blessed. THANK YOU "OUR RESTORATION NATION", for this unforgettable masterpiece video. Love you guys.....❤
Miss Marjorie is such a sweet lady and I'd love to sit and have tea with her and listen to all of her stories. Her accent is very lovely!! Thanks for this video!
My Darling‘s… Enchanting Tour! I am so Thankful King George III was so considerate & so much of the original grant remains. Lady Marjorie is Classy, Charming, Gorgeous & an utter Delight! I look forward to a visit. Perfect place to stash away all your Maids of Honour! 🤍🤍🤍
I really enjoyed seeing the house and hearing about it's chaotic history. It's so fabulous to see families that care so much for a house and keeping it's history intact, instead of doing modern renovations. I bet the diary was an amazing read.
I missed this days . These home bring back good memories of my grandparents when I miss home I go to gold rush little towns . When I miss my grand parents
What a fabulous tour with Ms. Marjorie!!! She’s the epitome of all things imagined of a Southern Belle! I love the personal stories and shares. Thank you for providing us the opportunity to see this lovely home!
I am best friends with the owner’s (Mrs. Marjorie) oldest granddaughter. We are good childhood friends. I have spent many summers and holidays here visiting them in the home. Mrs. Marjorie is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and she has a lovely family! Glenfield is a very beautiful bed and breakfast and I always look forward to when I would visit and I hope to visit again sometime soon. I remember when Mrs. Marjorie let me and her oldest granddaughter, my friend, stay in the first bedroom shown in this video one night and it was so comforting. Lots of interesting history here. Definitely adore Glenfield very much ❤
Easily my favourite tour guide so far. She was so natural and I loved how she told us the things she liked and hated in the house growing up, and so many little facts with no sugar coating. I love the owner/caretaker series!💜
A heartfelt thank you to Miss Marjorie for sharing her beautiful home and collection with us. She shared several fascinating family stories of the history which took place on her property over the years. Just delightful!!!❤
The stories told tear at my heart! My ancestors lives blood sweat and tears went into the building of so many of these magnificent homes yet they had nothing to pass down. Our histories are so intertwined, yet we were and still are so divided ♥️🇺🇲💯
Our hostess's **accent, alone, is remarkable. Solid person. This home is an ancient, resonant, vital and patinaed - *song. Such a good one. True thanks for this visit.
I bet I've watched this a dozen times. It's amazing and just a touch creepy. It is so absolutely original, and a bit tired, but that is what makes it so captivating. I love the fact that there is so little "restoration", and forcing of modernity on the old girl. Miss Marjorie is the cherry on top!
This is one of the best I have seen. Loved hearing from Miss Marjorie. Thank you Kevin and Laine for this wonderful tour! So many original things! The paint is original!!
A sunny Sunday in California and I’m binge watching @restorationnation videos as I clean the house. My favorite properties are those ones featured in Natchez. I hope to visit the south one day!
Love the accent. And mz Margorie's witty character. Always awesome to watch these, living in Australia. Beautiful home, bigger than I expected. Thanks Laine & Kev 🥰.
I was fortunate to be given a tour of this home by Miss Marjorie last week during Spring Pilgrimage. As much as I enjoyed the house, she is the best part about it. She’s even more personable in person, and quite entertaining. Others I met who had also taken the tour all agreed she was the treasure of Glenfield.
It’s reaffirming to know there are still people that care about continuity, that care and cherish all of their history, the good, the bad and the ugly. Her candour is refreshing and I want to visit this property.
@@OurRestorationNation Thanks. I’ll have to go back to see it. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to take your tour when I was there last week for Pilgrimage.
Oh my goodness, I adore Marjorie. She has the southern say what you mean, blunt attitude. My grandmother and great grams would have been the same way. I love the Spanish influence and the sleeping porches. The house's history really speaks to you as you go through it. I perked up when she mentioned Adams as a leader in the skirmish (I'm an Adams) and I hope that we were on the Union side, but I sincerely doubt it. Too many generals in the Confederacy with our names: Coleman, Beatty, Sexton, Adams and Barnett. I loved the tour. Thank you!
Yes, I like duponi silk. It's readily available online if you have no fabric stores near that carry it. It's around $30 per yard. Also, synthetic duponi is available that looks close to the real thing. I would love to be able to afford real duponi silk for all my windows.
Hi, it is so beautiful with all of it's History n original everything still intact. It's incredible. Thank you for showing us this exquisite home. I loved hearing all about it n the Generations of family who lived there.
Oh my goodness!! In my eyes this house is the most beautiful house in Natchez, MS. I absolutely love it! I will look into staying there when I go visit! And what a lovely lady! Thank you Laine!! ❤❤ 2 thumbs up to this house! My dream!! ❤
Miss Majorie is so adorable! I just love how she speaks and enjoyed her docent presentation immensely! When you first approach the brick facade of Glenfield, it looks like it could have once been a depot building, but I know it wasn't. As we walked through this house, I was enthralled by its history, original architectural features, original paints, various familial coat-of-arms, and antiques collection. I could also envision Civil War troops all around and inside it. Oh, and by the way, Laine, I saw you this time! 😂😂 Great video, y'all! Til the next time......
Oh my gosh!!!! That house is amazing! I've got to go there! Original paint still on the walls and that handmade quilt 🤯Wow! Just everything about that place! Those beautiful mirrors and furniture and the history, its like a museum you can stay in over night. That is one special place❤
I enjoyed seeing this tour & the added history just doubled my pleasure! Marjorie did a great tour! Thank-you Kevin, Laine & Marjorie. Much love to you all!❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful home, lovely tour and hostess. Thank you for all your hard work Laine & Kevin. I could talk with you all day about your music selections alone. Really adds to the experience.
Absolutely love all the original pieces and painted woodwork in this beauty! Love that sweet ladies southern drawl. Wonder if I could adopt her as an auntie? 😂😊
Loved this tour! I wanna hear more about the ghost tour though. 😁👻 You should do a special edition of ghost tales from these homes, maybe for Halloween!
What a delightful video and a beautiful home! Miss Marjorie was a wonderful tour guide and hostess! This history of this home is fascinating and it’s wonderful that she’s been able to preserve so much of it! I would love to meet her and stay there some time!
There are so many beautiful well preserved houses in Natchez! I love watching these tours and your renovation vids 😀❤️ it’s now a place on my must visit list. Next time I’m over from Scotland I MUST add in a trip to Natchez!!!

I loved using the korseen lamp . Doing my homework. Even know we had electric .I read many of Nancy drew by the street light . I love take a bath with ole tub we used for washing clothes
The day we toured Glenfield, Miss Marjorie was waiting for us on the front porch in her elegant yellow gown. She and Valerie were delightful hostesses, and Glenfield has a fascinating history. The past lives on in this home because it is very definitely haunted. We snapped many photos on our phones which included blue orbs of energy not apparent to the naked eye. Miss Marjorie confirmed that this is not an unusual occurrence. She was a delight! Valerie also shared tales of experiences she had had in the house that gave us shivers. A great tour and a very unique piece of Natchez history.

What a delightful lady
If people really grew up in these original homes and country . You can never replace . With you relatives . Can never replace them with new homes
Wonderful interiors, carefully preserved by a lady of refinement! So many historic homes end up with interiors that look like tacky Mcmansions.
