    8 yrs later and this video is still helping folks. Thku for this kind service. Nothing like changing a tire at 4 am instead of getting to work =)

    Thank you for this video! It made a stressful situation more manageable.
    I would like to make a note that you need to have enough slack in the cable after the spare tire drops down from the chassis to angle the anchor of the cable out from the center of the wheel. This can be a bit tricky without the right amount of slack in the cable.

    The fact I had to look up a TH-cam video to find where they HID the spare tire and where to find "Bolt B" is absolutely ridiculous! Thanks for posting this, it was a life saver. Toyota engineers... you suck!

      Ana Pineda
      Ms Pineda ... respectfully, wait until you have to change a flat tire at 2AM, maybe 3AM, and your roadside assistance just can't find your location at that time in the morning!

    These instructions are missing something. My 2006 Sienna does not have the adapter socket. Toyota put a crow bar instead of an adapter socket to lower the spare tire. Everything else in this video was very helpful. Thank you.

    Sorry Sir, I did NOT see you actually "slide" out the spare tire from the underneath of your flat-tire, lop-sided (because of the flat) vehicle. Neither did I see you "strap" the grimy, dirty and sometimes dangerous (because of the sticking-out of radial wires) flat tire into the the rear cargo-hold of your vehicle.
    Did I just miss something important about your educational video?

    so how do you put a donut spare back then?

    • @barbarahernandez4713
      @barbarahernandez4713 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need someone who can get under the van and hook it back on then screw it back up.

    • @rmat9023
      @rmat9023 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barbarahernandez4713 ohh I figured, seems a bit cumbersome, someone has to be able to hold a fairly heavy thing in such a narrow place, so it's a 2 person job. 1 to hold, 1 to screw, how cumbersome.

    Any spare tire HAS TO BE INSIDE THE VICHICLE... That thin cable is made out of steel that rust and is only ment to drive the van from the factory to the dealer, after that your on your own when it snaps and you loose your spare tire on the highway that WILL distroy anything that it hits under your van as it is being mangled by your vichicle including the other vichicles on the road, and YOU are responsible for the damages as your load was not properly secured.
    These under floor carriers should be BANNED!.. I had one on an old Toyota pickup that snapped due to rust as it was never used or inspected, the tire hit the ground on an angle, the other side went up and ripped the back of the box off the frame, the tailgate fell off and went cart wheeling into a guys hood and windshield...
    They still use the same cable and thickness of cable for the Sienna rear sliding doors and they are rotting and snapping too, and the door cables are not under the van.. You would figure that it being so dangerous loosing the spare tire while traveling that they would use a stainless steel cable and hardware.

    We just helped my daughter change a flat. I will never buy a Toyota that has this design. It's ridiculous. A single mom alone with 4 kids in the van and a flat! How is she supposed to change the tire?

  • @ebrahimsayadi5900
    @ebrahimsayadi5900 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Only a stupid designer can do that. It will be very difficult to change tires when it is raining and on muddy roads.

    And when the passenger side rear is flat and the car is parked at the curb you're pretty much out of luck. Plus the cable is too short to get the tire out from under the car. LAST TOYOTA I EVER BUY!
