  • If your saw blade is not running perfectly true, it can cause saw marks and burns on the pieces you cut for your projects. In this video, Jerry Cole of In-Line Industries demonstrates a simple way of determining the condition of the blade and arbor on your table saw,and explains how to minimize the problem.

In case you have wobble just pop in another blade. If you still have the same amount of wobble the problem is in the arbor. If not the blade is to blame.

    I have a contractor saw.
If I put saw blade between my fingers and try wiggling it I feel play in my saw blade.
Do I need new spindle bearings?
How much play is normal with a contractor saw?

problem? Have a sligh amount of wobble from shift for blade. Any play there allowed?

Besides not using a dial indicator properly, every expert I know uses a channel locks to remove an arbor nut!

What is the max tolerance for Arbor shaft play?

Great pointers. I will definitely try some of these out.
I’d like to add another - to not use an adjustable wrench to loosen the arbor nut… or pretty much any nut come to think of it.

Man sure wish you were around to help me figure a wobble I have.

Great idea for tuning your saw minus the fact that you were testing your bearing run out incorrectly. A dial indicator should be perpendicular to the surface it measures. Being angled is inaccurate.

Is that a Craftsmans 113.xxxxxx table saw? How much noise are new bearings suppose to make when install them in this saw? Is there any noise at all? Did you ever replace bearings on yours and if so what brand and kind did you use? I put some new bearings on my old craftsmans 113.xxxxxx and I thought new bearings would be a lot quieter than they are. Check out my video on it.

I could take this video more seriously if you didn't use water pump pliers to remove your blade and used a proper wrench.
