so awesome to see all these new radios after frsky/spectrum had such a grip on the industry for years.

Very nice for sure, and nice that who is left now seems a lot more community friendly than what we had back then.

Those CNC gimbals on T14 (and T20) are identical to the ones used in latest JR radios. Not just the ALP pots sensor, but the whole gimble assembly.

So i am taking that as that the gimbals are really good. Any reason that the AG01's could have them beat? More accurate, linear responding, consistent, no drift, solid build and solid feel, other??? I really like the T20 - mostly for it's uniqueness but it looks like a nice radio.
By the way, I hope you have seen the Jumper T15 - it is game over for the Boxer!!! I might even trade in my Mambo (yea, I was thinking this "style" radio was the best one ahead of the heard... good for me, I know, right? JK. But I do love my Mambo less the stupid Freedom Spec software they use. No updates for like, well ever really. Not that they could not respond with some other improvements so it is not checkmate but check by the T15. All good stuff happening, that is for certain. Cheers

Hey its NOT less Throw, the gimbal is adjustable. you should adjust it to gain more throw

Your antenna being crooked is a QA issue, thats not how its supposed to be. You can take the shell apart and straighten it, unless the plastic is cracked.

Jon, great video as always but cmon, put that 6200 mah battery into the T14 - that is a moderately big deal if it fits or not and a very odd decision to say you are too lazy to do something that would take less than a minute. Perhaps someone down in the comments has answered this.
That plus I think you made a couple other errant statements about the antenna being crooked (it does not have to be and can be fixed) and the gimbal throw is about the exact same as the Boxer it has throw reducers that are adjustable... although the "muscle memory" issue is a genuine one and I do think that you could feel the difference and measure the difference in lap times, etc...

Good review, I was curious about T14. I think also that black screen eats more battery, but not sure. Cuz it's not a regular old school screen, can see it even flickering on camera.

So can this beat the Boxer? Well, it certainly can directly compete with it BUT the new T15 with the color screen has them all beat! I am sure there will be some cases to me made about the gimbals, RadioMaster definitely has that part nailed down, but Jumper has some perfectly fine, competitive gimbals themselves. I am happy to see some competition here for what it is worth.
I am actually a Mambo owner - bought one before the Boxer came out (so i was way early to this party!) And i still just use the Mambo although I did pick up a Zorro with the Pyrodrone edition colors and the mini AG01's and... yea, it is good, but those gimbals, the shorter throw is hard to switch back and fourth. I love the radio just for the special edition looks! But it was also built well, better than my friends "stock" Zorro. Poor peasant!
I will say that when I spend time with the Zorro i do get comfortable with it fairly quickly, it is super easy to hold and it is also noticeably lightweight in a good way so i duno, i am still very much at the beginning of my journey into FPV quads and have a lot of skills to develop and a lot to learn, but it is fun for sure!

Totally agree, T15 is jumpers strongest offering in years. Gimbal heads will choose the boxer, but just about everyone else may flock to that color screen.

@@JonE5FPV Hi John, I finished typing everything and it is a ton of words, if you make it to the end i thank you!!!!
Thanks for the reply. I think that the T15 is a bit more than just the color screen (although that is awesome!). I like the Jumper gimbals, they are definitely more than good enough for someone like me. That plus the features and ergo's all look as good as any other radio in this class. I happen to own a Mambo as about 3 years ago I was thinking (i was ahead of the time here! JK) that as cool as the TX16 was, it was indeed a "Huge" radio, and I did not like the Jumper TLite that i bought at all, very very plastic'y gimbals.... but really it was a good radio, I just expected too much. So there was the Mambo, screaming at me - I am what you are looking for..." And I love my Mambo! What a great purchase. And I still have not flown it with Tracer!?! Got my first Tracer receiver a little bit ago... and then lost my job so things are up in the air, well, everything except my quads!
I wanted to say I really enjoy your channel, I have watched you since I got into drones, came from Motocross and some RC Truggy racing as well... (awesome, still have it!)
I loved your Houston "Night spot" but shoot, it is got to be at least 1000 miles from where I live. I did work in Alabama for a few months a year or so ago - perhaps the drive from Alabama to Houston is do' able? Oh well, that job has ended and I will not be back there. Bummer.
Also, your channel has made a lot of progress as well. The look of your "studio" your voice has gotten much better now sounding very professional and mature. Well done sir. Watching your videos gives me some inspiration to perhaps one day make a channel of my own... but what would it be on? I know a shyte-ton about lean manufacturing, and i mean a shyte-ton... my last boss called me "the professor" which obviously made me feel good bout myself... yet i got laid off so... eh. But other than "lean" I am a degreed mechanical engineer with several patents to my credit, I have designed tons of production processes, machines, some robotics (that shyte is hard, the programming really is what gets me). I know my way around a CNC machine shop, a Pick and Place Electronics production facility including hand done die wire bonding under a 150X microscope! Lots of cool stuff. I have worked at the company that owns "Jacobs chuck" you know, the chuck that is very likely to be on your drill right now. They also owned craftsman tools (we all got full mechanics sets for work only though...) They owned Kollmorgen motors - basically a company that makes all sorts of servo and step motors and the related drivers... My division made rotary and linear encoders, I have worked at a drug design and manufacturing company called Abbvie and did work in so many different, unique areas such as R&D, FDA testing and stability, I worked with the Internal Audit teams, basically a bunch of 20-something kids that were all smart as heck and ready to go and do whatever they were assigned to do, and this was work that went around the world! And so on and so on...
Anyway, sincerely thank you for the reply, in my current state it means a lot and i appreciate it! I will dig out of this current mess, who knows... there is a part of me that sometimes thinks of seeing FPV for the first times through your videos at that night spot and I almost feel a part of it.
One of the best things I ever got out of riding motocross was the time it allowed me to spend with my very best friends. The car rides there was almost all the fun we ever needed! Always, and I mean Always stopping at the same Taco Bell, talking smack and loving every second of it. Going mid week was extra special, to be out as the sun was setting, hearing the track be busy with people riding and simply recharging our own energy stores so that we could get back out there and take another dozen laps. Riding side by side with my best friends, being a faster rider yet on occasion J would dig deep and pull past me on his 125 2 stroke against me on a 450 4 stroke! So it was magic when he could pull it off. That and one more notable thing.
A few times a year Red Bud, a National Professional motocross track would open up for "open rides" and when we would go the actual national pro's (usually 1 or 2 of them, they live and grew up in Michigan so... this is kind of their home track) We parked right next to Mike LaRocco - at the time one of the top 5 fastest motocross riders on the planet! And it was... no big deal! No worries, super chill, asked for an autograph and got one, that was it. He asked us a bunch of questions!!!? Very nice guy. And I actually got on the track at the same time as Mike... I tried to keep up but wholly shit, absolutely in a league 10 times above where I was! But it did give me some confidence to ride through a section faster than I ever had before. That section lead up to the "bridge" jump, an easy 90 feet to the triple, but... if you were fast enough it was actually a quad! and that made it around 110 feet give or take... I don't care how many feet all I care about was that experience, that feeling... the takeoff was 4th gear pinned... it was like I was rising higher and higher and I got nervous because it went waaaaay past anything i had ever experienced before! I was instantly scared but stayed composed, got my body in the right positions, and saw the landing coming up and, that was it, a very easy if not a bit harsh landing, hitting the downslope of that quad eased the bike back down, a bunch of headshake as I started to slow the bike down but in control(ish) for sure!
Thanks to Mike L. for demonstrating the lines and just how fast you needed to take them - in no other way could i have ever worked up to hitting that jump, to this day I still feel like I just did it. And I know to some pro's that is what they eat for breakfast but to me, that was the experience of a lifetime!
If you like motocross check this out: at RedBud there used to be this jump called "the double double" (it is no longer there, one of the defining features of the site and poof, gone... truly a major loss) and believe me when i say no way could you do it unless you were fully committed and really hard on the throttle... the landing was literally like 75 degrees or so, it was steep, you could not land on that, you had to clear the whole thing. That day I almost worked up the courage to have tackled that jump, but it was really out of my league...
However, ever since that day my riding had improved dramatically, a lot of what was holding me back was me, and that is not necessarily a bad thing, self preservation you know... it is interesting to see how much your mind has to do with how you perform and handle almost anything we do in life. I am my own worst enemy!
Jon, you look like a big guy, have you ever considered riding motocross? These new "E-Bikes" can get you into the experience to about 80%, the new actual electric motocross bikes are KILLER... probably the best thing ever!
Thanks for all you do, keep up the great videos, the great racing you are participating in, I would love to see you get a podium finish and I am sure you will soon! OK, I will see ya later! PHEW!!! Cheers

Dude 100% I agree with the gimbal situation. I've been flying this t14 for a week and the throw in the gimbals is a lot less so I felt I would have to add some expo or change my rates up a little bit to get it to feel similar to the boxer. It's a nice radio but I think I'll stick to what I'm used to instead of learning a whole new muscle memory. It's not a bad memory

I think Jumper T14 is using same gimbals as T20. non CNC ones are with hall sensor, and CNC ones are RDC90. Why are they saying that Jumper T14 has CNC Hall sensor gimbals, I don't know. Why is Jumper so misleading.

Not sure about longevity of the led screen vs lcd, my crossfire module screen(led) dyed and I had to change the entire module- repair was too difficult for me:/ never happened with lcd.

Ordered the T14 back in January and just got it 2 days ago. They actually sent me the clear case to convert it for free. I kind of like the blue color though. I would like the purchase those switches to replace the momentary on the top, but I am not sure where to find it. I've checked the jumper website so if you have a link for that please share it! Also, my radio antenna isn't crooked like yours is so perhaps it's just a flaw ? Mine is lined up- OCD compliant!
