These video's are doing a terrific job of depicting the thought and effort that goes into building something exceptional.
Most "build videos" tend to be a time-lapse of an interior and fittings being installed and the overall message is "Hey, this stuff is easy as long as you plan it first".
That's fine as long as your build is fairly straightforward which, in turn, is likely to be a little bit heavier than it could have been or a little bit less useful.
If you're really determined to optimise everything, though, there's a LOT to think about and a lot to do.

Great build Andrew and you're really onto something here. This is a build that hits home with a lot of overlanders. We can't afford to have a state of the art overlander stuck in the driveway 80% of the time to go fishing in odd places on a weekend. We need to utilize the car we have and I can easily see myself getting off work on friday, go home and connect the camping unit, toss some food in the fridge and off I go.
Due to kids I'd have to keep the back seat in the double cab and that would of course set me up for a whole range of new compromises, but keep on going Andrew, lots of good ideas and knowledge up of grabs here !

Hi Andrew. I'm new to this so I've been watching a number of videos on overlanding build. I'm astonished at how different they are in the US, Japan and Australia. The Japanese are a marvel at utilizing compact space and lightweight stuffs, but they're too limiting for me being based in Indo. Yours, on the other hand, are what I would consider a dream build. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hi Andrew. A suggestion for your internal spare wheel. If you turn it around with the dish pointing to the rear, you can have a cake tin like cabinet made to fit inside that can be fitted with shelves or pigeon holes to house things like tyre repair kit, dirty socks, tie st rad or any of the small items that are always difficult to find or get hold of. In my jeep I put a sub woofer in the wheel. The old beatles had a tool box mounted to the spare and some new cars have tge jack in this space. Just a thought. Cheers.

Impressive. It'll be interesting to see how it all get finishes. The drawer for your camera gear is a nice way to access your different systems and lenses. They'll stay clean and safe inside the drawer being in the cab. I'm always concerned about theft of my gear even being locked in the cab. The camera bag is a dead giveaway of expensive gear. Being in a drawer/cabinet no one knows the better. Awesome.
