Hi my husband our 8 month baby girl and I we just moved to Fort Wayne from California and we need to get around and see what’s out here.. I liked your video

As far as fast food, Culver's has gluten-free buns and they will make the food without some of the gluten items. Also, Chick-fil-A. I know it's not a completely gluten-free kitchen but it can suffice in a pinch. I know that probably doesn't help much

I have been offered an opportunity at Sweetwater however I am totally blind so I told them to give me three months to research and the reason being is I need to find an apartment I don’t want to buy for at least a year I am 49 widowed. My children are grown live in Maine, so I’m certainly more than prepared for the weather nightmares and The great days to been through that winter thing for real lol either way in Richmond Virginia now and I am just trying to find out truly any opinions you have on the medium level or mid grade apartments trying to stay away from the more violent areas, but honestly having things closer to me as far as accessible to grocery stores, convenience, stores also the micro brewery scene things like that so I didn’t know if you have any Apartment building suggestions or complex suggestions you might refer me to trying to keep my rent under a G thanks 4:30
Hey Adam, can you send me an email at k.t.dials@gmail.com I have a relocation guide that we’ll give you that goes over all the highlights. The link in the bio is down because we’re relaunching our website. That’s why the link doesn’t work. We’ve had quite a few people move to Fort Wayne that are looking into taking a job with Sweetwater Sound
Adam, I'm about to be in the same predicament as you! I'm getting a job offer from Sweetwater as well. I'm a Connecticut native but have been living in Orlando Florida for the last 8 years. I'm completely sold on Sweetwater as a company, but I'm so conflicted on the idea of leaving my beloved Florida. I'm really drawn to Fort Wayne's affordability compared to Florida. Buying my first home is also a big goal of mine as I approach 30 years old soon, but with all the inflation here in Florida between the housing market, home owners insurance, etc, I just don't know if I can make that goal happen here. I'm worried that I might move to Fort Wayne and hate the city compared to Orlando but it's hard to tell right now.
I rented a house, when I first moved here, in Bluffton from a guy that plays for the Phil. I’ve heard there Christmas performances are great. He invited me but I never went. I did see the Sweetwater Allstate perform at The Clyde last year
I really wanted to enjoy this video, as the content is informative, but I had to quit after 4 minutes because the stock roll footage of generic folks doing mediocre things gave it a commercially cheap clip. Otherwise, thanks for the info.
Wow, I’m flattered and sad at the same time. I went to rewatch the first 4:00…all those clips were from my iPhone(except 2). the DJI drone shot I took with the Mavic mini 2. I took that over the St. Joe River at Shoaff Park The shot of the woman sweating was stock; I don’t know that woman. And the mosquito pond shot was stock. But I do appreciate the feedback. I never know if the editing or recording is good or bad unless I get comments like this. I do appreciate it.
@@LivingInFortWayne You’re welcome. But I’d like to reiterate the quality of your content drew me in at the first place. I lived in Fort Wayne the area of Hessen Cassell/McKinney/Abbott/ and moved because: 1. A drive by shooting in an a nearby apartment complex. You could her the gun shots. 2. Several killings. One body found in the back of an apartment complex. 4. A person hung himself in the back of this complex. People walking by taking pictures but not reporting it to the police. 3. A mother owned a bakery shop on Hessen Cassell behind the Shell Gas Station was kidnapped at home in front of her kids, taken a couple blocks from it and shot 30 it 40 times. 4. Heavy prostitution in this area and various children. A lot of landlords or property management look the other way. The rent has to be paid right? 5. Had to call police more than 15 times just to get in my front door. 6. Saw a drug drop right on front of window. 7. Possible human trafficking. 8. My house had been and vehicle had been broken into more than two times. There is a large Burmese community living in this area. Nothing wrong with that but a lot of them are becoming involved in this kind of behavior.

I wouldn’t say Fort Wayne gets no rain in the summer but they don’t get enough as compared to further east. We got rain in August this year which helped the corn. The corn crop looks much better than it does in Ohio.
Bro mentioned Fort Wayne music scene without mentioning sweetwater or middle waves, Talked about fort wayne gast food without Babas, and from this video looks like he lives in the northwest sode of town. Perhaps that why he forgot there is like 3 large colleges here when he said fort Wayne is not a college town. 2 of 10 in being a fort wayne rep.
I appreciate your feedback. I think you’re proving my point though, even Babas doesn’t have chicken strips on the menu….no one else finds that strange? As far as college towns, I was referencing the fact that all the colleges here don’t bring the party scene that you find in college towns. Large colleges have chapel Hill, Memorial Stadium, William-Brice Stadium, etc. Remember when you were in college on college game day, for football and basketball game’s especially. Every large college town has at least one street…named either Broadway or University. All the bars and clubs are on that street. Of the 363 D1 college cites, I’m sure you would agree there are more options for nightlife; especially in game day
@@LivingInFortWayne What do you mean babas doesn't have chicken strips? They definitely do. So does Halls, the Waffle Station, best in FW by the way) or most bars. Unless you think tenders and strips are different. Also, yeah sure we don't have a D1 sports or huge professional team, but like there are still sports and bars a plenty. It depends on your strategy. If you want to own property, it would be easier to wholesale, which requires little to no money, seller financing, or last option would be buy, rehab, rent, refi. One of the things that you forget to mention, is the political climate. Almost every politician from the mayor's office all the way down to the city council virtually ignores the will of the people. For example, I live in city district 5. My councilman Geoff Paddock brushed me off in order to do an interview about the scooter issue. I've requested meetings with the Mayor and was completely ignored.
Thinking about moving there to be with my bf but I’m scared. I love I’m St. Louis and I love the night life and things to do. I’m scared I will hate it compared to the big city. Any advice? I’m also scared of being the minority (stl black population in the majority) how is it as a black person there?
Good question! I recommend visiting first. If your bf lives here, what does he do or think abt the night life? Nightlife I can say…Fort Wayne…idk how to put it in a nice way…not it! It’s not for nightlife. But don’t be afraid just b/c something is different. If you’re accustomed to living in a majority minority city, like STL, tbh FW will be a culture shock. It’s not super small but it’s the perfect size. No traffic. Most people move here for jobs or are looking for an affordable place to live. Which is huge b/c with that savings you can travel to Indy, Cleveland, Columbus, Chicago or Detroit…all of those cities have plenty nightlife but are expensive to live. There is a black population but most are from here or the surrounding areas. I’ve lived in foreign countries and all over the U.S. so demographics don’t matter to me. I hope that was helpful. I have a free relocation guide, it breaks down the areas, amnesties and job opportunities
If you like the city life (A.K.A Metro area) I wouldn't come to the fort and the black population is at around 15% but people treat each other like human beings here.
You do know we're like 2 hours from a ton of major cities, plus Fort Wayne is the second biggest city in Indiana. Not exactly sure what kind of night life you're talking about. But we definitely have grown, especially since my teenage years, so there's lots to offer.
Unfortunately no Sonics on Lima. That’s true you can get chicken strips at all those places….Which is funny cause we’re in Texas right now and the first place my wife and daughter went to was Raising Canes. I think it’s hard to articulate the difference between these types of restaurants.
@@LivingInFortWayne It's not that hard to articulate the difference I was trying to be sarcastically funny Of course those places are not family friendly, I guess we don't know what it's like to have good chicken and to want good chicken until we've had good chicken We've always just been stuck with KFC or famous lee's. Personally there is nothing better I would love to do then get out of fort Wayne and try something different, It feels like after you've lived here your whole life, if you've gone around the block a few times you've seen everything. Hey happy travels !
All depends on the lifestyle of the individual…we’ve spoken to people who want land, work remote, and like space. Others want to stay close to downtown, in walkable areas. If you could push a button today, what lifestyle would you choose?
@@LivingInFortWayne great question! I’d say I’d want a hybrid of good nightlife, with enough opportunities for “me time” away from it all in nature, and good young successful singles scene.

We only have ONE Costco to cover 800,000 people in Ft Wayne and all the people who drive here from Ohio, Michigan, and surrounding towns. Not acceptable. Everything (almost) on Dupont Dr is fast food. Don't even try to find a doctor, especially if they are specialists! Waited 4 months to get an appt with Dermatologist, 5 months for Neurologist. This is insane. If interest rates come down, I am leaving
The wait time for medical appointments are insane and that can be incredibly frustrating! I’m sorry to hear that. Did you move from another city in the Midwest?
Aldi is opening on Dupont and Dupont Oaks Q1 2023. Much needed. Also the new-ish Meijer on Dupont as well. Not much food options over there like you said but Leo Crossing at least has Guadalupe's, Lexy's Pizza, and Salvatori's. Also Maplecrest has decent food (Shigs In Pit, Salsa Grille, Casa Grille). Don't overlook Giordano's, Nori, Solbird, and Bagger Dave's off Dupont as well! Yes FW needs more big box/warehouse stores, or at least a second Sams & Costco, but I feel like FW is expanding on Dupont beyond fast food and apartments! Hi my husband our 8 month baby girl and I we just moved to Fort Wayne from California and we need to get around and see what’s out here.. I liked your video
Welcome to Fort Wayne! We do have a free relocation guide in the bio. If you’re interested
Thinking of moving to Fort Wayne from cali how is the diversity in food there?
Not as diverse as California but more diverse than you would think. Jobs have brought a lot of people from bigger cities here since 2010. I’d rather tell you my opinion about food via a zoom or phone call with our team (Caleb, Franki, and Stacia) link is above. We could go more in depth there
Two seasons here ....cold winter, and construction 🚧
😂😂😂
I'm interested in where the healthy and good or gluten free options are there.
As far as fast food, Culver's has gluten-free buns and they will make the food without some of the gluten items. Also, Chick-fil-A. I know it's not a completely gluten-free kitchen but it can suffice in a pinch. I know that probably doesn't help much
@@LivingInFortWayne I knew of Chick Fil As options, but I never looked into Culvers. That helped some, thanks!
We don’t.

Hi, my name is Adam I am considering moving to Fort Wayne.
I lived in Phx for 20+ years. Dry heat is still heat.
💯 I’ll take Indiana Heat any day of the week
Have you seen the Phil, or the FWACB play yet?
I rented a house, when I first moved here, in Bluffton from a guy that plays for the Phil. I’ve heard there Christmas performances are great. He invited me but I never went. I did see the Sweetwater Allstate perform at The Clyde last year
There’s a raising canes opening soon in Kokomo 🤪. It’s like they are all over but ft Wayne 🤣.
I’m 👏So👏Excited 👏
I really wanted to enjoy this video, as the content is informative, but I had to quit after 4 minutes because the stock roll footage of generic folks doing mediocre things gave it a commercially cheap clip. Otherwise, thanks for the info.
Wow, I’m flattered and sad at the same time. I went to rewatch the first 4:00…all those clips were from my iPhone(except 2). the DJI drone shot I took with the Mavic mini 2. I took that over the St. Joe River at Shoaff Park
The shot of the woman sweating was stock; I don’t know that woman.
I’ve just seen so many videos by realtors with stock B-roll that it gets nauseating after a while. Frankly, I could watch you talk for a long time as an inset clip while street views roll in the background. Just wanted to appreciate the hard work you put into it.
I lived in Fort Wayne the area of Hessen Cassell/McKinney/Abbott/ and moved because:
That is horrible. All of that is truly sad and I’m sorry you had to go through that. I would have moved as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences
I've seen a lot of subways close

Fort Wayne gets NO rain in the summer. Storms go around Fort Wayne. We've lived here 5 years and spend every summer watering everything on our property to keep it alive. Fort Wayne is drought.
I did notice that homes don’t automatically come with sprinkler systems here. Which was shocking to us when we moved from Texas.
I wouldn’t say Fort Wayne gets no rain in the summer but they don’t get enough as compared to further east. We got rain in August this year which helped the corn. The corn crop looks much better than it does in Ohio.
Yeah and the people that move here the less water there will be. Then you will really know what a drought is. 😮
Man I would love a white Castles and Jollibee in Ft Wayne.
Jollibee? Never heard of it. Now I need to find one and try it out!

Like there's plenty to complain about in Fort Wayne, and I still like living here, but this like complaining that apartments in NYC don't have enough yard space.

If I had 10,000 dollars to invest in Fort Wayne how do I go about it
It depends on your strategy. If you want to own property, it would be easier to wholesale, which requires little to no money, seller financing, or last option would be buy, rehab, rent, refi. With 10k you would most likely need to look at tax liens.

Oooff! I'm sorry to hear that. Ya know, I can't speak on the politics. What did you want to talk with him about?
The politicians want to be like Indy and Chicago in size and it’s not a good idea
For fun, research the longest serving mayor in Fort Wayne history - Harry Baals. ;-)
FtWayne was nice until people escaping Chicago came. It’s turning ghetto
I don’t want to assume, for clarity are you saying there are areas, in Fort Wayne, that have diminished recently?
If you like the city life (A.K.A Metro area) I wouldn't come to the fort and the black population is at around 15% but people treat each other like human beings here.
lol stay there, we like it to safe civilized
You do know we're like 2 hours from a ton of major cities, plus Fort Wayne is the second biggest city in Indiana. Not exactly sure what kind of night life you're talking about. But we definitely have grown, especially since my teenage years, so there's lots to offer.
Humidity never looked so… appealing
Fort Wayne is looking like a nice option to move!
Yes, it’s great here, well, at least not in the bad parts.
Isn't there a sonics out on Lima road 🤔
And doesn't every sports bar and strip club in fort Wayne serve chicken 😆
Unfortunately no Sonics on Lima. That’s true you can get chicken strips at all those places….Which is funny cause we’re in Texas right now and the first place my wife and daughter went to was Raising Canes. I think it’s hard to articulate the difference between these types of restaurants.
@@LivingInFortWayne
It's not that hard to articulate the difference I was trying to be sarcastically funny
Of course those places are not family friendly,
I guess we don't know what it's like to have good chicken and to want good chicken until we've had good chicken
We've always just been stuck with KFC or famous lee's.
Personally there is nothing better I would love to do then get out of fort Wayne and try something different,

I moved to Leo last fall....do NOT like it here. The north side of Ft Wayne has nothing! Every store and restaurant I would like is 25 miles away from me.
Plus you're right by I69 if you really need to get out of the Fort for some fun or eats.
