I have been here for six years and your pros and cons are spot on. You did however forget to mention the hail. Screw the tornadoes, but the large hail will absolutely destroy ones house and/or vehicle. I have experienced softball size stones which actually broke through the decking on the roof. Quarter size and golf ball size hail is considered commonplace. The humidity is not a factor when compared to cities along the Gulf. What is disconcerting are the ultra dry cold air masses from the North during the winter months. Very dry skin and eczema will run their course during these times, but with a little experimentation are easily treatable.
Winters aren't Minnesota bad or something. We had maybe a month total of really cold weather, two solid weeks to really experience things, then that was it. Not bad at all.
In the early 90's a storm came through with softball sized hail. It destroyed the whole north side of my grandpas house and went right through all the windows ricocheting massive hail stones all over any room they could get into tearing everything up. Eventually the beating caused the 2nd floor roof to collapse giving the hail a direct path down the stairway into the kitchen and living room. Oh and all of his cars, completely destroyed. Might have been the tornado that hit andover in 91, i could be wrong though

So 60+ degrees over the Christmas break. 23rd of January - 60+ degrees. The Kansas City Chiefs are the Kansas City, Missouri Chiefs. "Major attractions* bring with them crowd control issues, violence, crime, obnoxious drunk people, etc.. Wichita is not Kansas City, Austin, St. Louis...that's why most of the people who enjoy living here don't want it to become one of those communities. I'm not sure we can't just let it be Wichita.
People who grow up in Wichita don’t know how bad it is in other cities, so they have to go discover that themselves. After running that process, they often return back here. The dating scene has always been bleak here. Any young man would do well to find a wife somewhere else and then bring her here. You can’t overstate the affordability of good housing here, compared to the rest of the country. The coastal states are just insanely overpriced. Eventually, young couples will want their own home, that’s when Wichita enters the game.👍

@samuel kamue I generally speed up most of the videos I watch on TH-cam to at least 1.25 if not faster, but I never post comments telling the person making the video because I recognize that the world does not revolve around me, and I don't expect TH-camrs to make their videos according to my preferences. It's their channel, their content, and I know I can start my own channel if I want content made to my own personal, subjective preferences.
Instead, I recognize that the world doesn't revolve around me and how quickly...or not....I can absorb and assimilate information, I adjust the speed manually to my subjective preference at any given moment, and I understand (and accept) that I cannot control others, and most especially internet strangers.
...but you do you.
Do they except ssi
Can you elaborate on what SSI stands for?

A much better video than that infomercial by Mat and Nat. Between the awful noise that I think somebody decided was a pleasant, upbeat, neutral musical selection, and their saccharine presentation, I struggle to fathom how it has 10x more views than your video, which is a far better embodiment of T H E R E A L I C T (even though I find your heat bubble theory to be suspect).
The one thing I might add regards the weather extremes. Specifically, the rapid swings. It is not uncommon for it to snow on one day, and on the very next day, it might be 70 degrees F. If I recall correctly, the biggest
Thanks for your feedback and insights for everyone to share in!
Wow! That is the most amazing and informative video I have ever watched. Really detailed and true info. Loved it. I am thinking about moving there. My dream job is to open up my own dealership and emission station. I don't know anything about renting a shop there. Do you have any info on that?
Glad it was helpful! It's great living here. Hope your business would push through. We could talk more about it since you have plans of settling here in the future. You may reach me anytime. Go visit our site to help you out as well www.wichitahomehero.com/ :))
On a cloudy day?,,, 4get about it.
Thanks for the comments :)
I am teacher and interested in moving to the area. What are the Top 5 school districts? What are the Top 5 high schools?
That I can't necessarily get into ranking school districts as not to show bias towards any of them or steer anyone into a particular neighborhood. I can however provide a good amount of information about the different school districts from an unbiased perspective on them. Shoot me a message on my website www.WichitaHomeHero.com
People say that Maize is a coveted district, on the outskirts.
The wichita area districts..of course!!☺️.district259🙌..Top 5 Highschools.5.Heights high school (bell aire district tho).but still part of ours ..4Northwest High..3. NorthHigh... 2West High.. 1East High..Bishop carroll and Kaupen"spelled wrong..sorry.🤔 both (private schools) and if you're up for the drive Andover high..and Maize High are pretty nice😁These are MY opinion based on safety,Learning skills, and fun! Not bias at all 😉 to a new wichita teacher..... But our schools are named after directions🤣..North..South..East..West..Southeast..Northeast..Northwest. Heights...bishop carroll and Kaupen..idk why we don't have southwest🤣. i hope im not forgetting any🤔 Honest tho..any school in wichita can use a loving teacher and youll get it back we need dream makers not dream destroyers 👍.im all about the kids good luck and God bless🙏✌️
Maize high school, then I’d probably say Andover then derby. Bishop Carrol and Kapaun would be good too
How's it now
It is still the same. Planning to move to Wichita?
I would never live there again, it sucks.
There are definitely different versions of Wichita and it's not for everyone... about like any city with differences
Everything got it's own ups and downs, pros & cons vis a vis. I'm quite happy & content that Wichita is the place to be! :)
You are 100% correct and what I am noticing is a trend of Wichita being a hidden gem like that
I'm a young person but not a party person 😅
Cool :)
Fall isn't a thing any more in wichita it's mostly summer and winter
This is mostly true. Not exaggerating but Wichita has summer in the morning and winter in the evening. 😬
Is Wichita a good place to buy investment real estate?
Yes
@@BenMeyer-Wichita-KS next question: what type of rental performs better in Wichita: Airbnb or long-term rentals?
@@JCA51698 Long term rentals, air bnb doesn't work since we're not really a destination city to travel to for vacation
Yes, this guy is definitely BIAS
I do love my hometown but I also know it's not perfect and has it's drawbacks, like anywhere someone would want to live :)
Anyone thinking of moving there, don't, they are full!
Nope, not yet. Wichita is not full yet. Wichita is very open to anyone planning to move in here. 😊
Can you smoke in bars in Wichita?
Most you cannot, some you can though
@@BenMeyer-Wichita-KS Appreciate the reply! I ended up in Oklahoma actually. The Kansas option fell through due to being a Fannie Mae property. I think I've seen 2 bars in this small town, but haven't made it there yet. :)

hail and crime rate
Hail is somewhat of a factor, Crime is comparable to any other major metro city that's it's spotty depending on where you live within the metro
