    literally the perfect video for me, I've seen other great tutorials out there like SW bricks, and those were great, but i just feel like this dude nails the aspect of "oh this is my first time decaling, this is what i found out" if that makes any sense.

    Oof the legs should have the blue on the outside not in rip. Took me a while to even notice that tho so it isn't a big deal especially with his good the rest looks! Awesome job!

    Nice clones, do they come off or deteriorate easily over time? It is worth?

    Story time for me I guess, I started decaling February 2021 and my figs weren’t too terribly applied but very poorly sealed, decals were cut terribly and some of the figs I chose were definitely not a great choice for beginners such as 13th battalion in 2020 style, 2020 Deviss and rp2 13th. My first fig was a 2020 41st elite corps trooper and my second fig was a rp2 212th. What I should’ve done was bought a ton of plain decals and no coloured clones besides grey like 41st and 104th. A huge majority of the clones I made were not good and were only temporary additions as I’d keep scrapping them and making new clones out of the old parts with new decals. Later in June I’d eventually discover how to seal properly but I still didn’t seal good enough, this would continue until October where I eventually realized all my errors where I have to seal, application was nailed down pretty good so didn’t need improvement. Now I have made a handful of decaled clones that are much better quality than how I started and there are only 2 in the collection that are good enough for my standards and are flawless, a realistic 501st and an animated grey 41st elite corps. the others are near perfects but are not useless. I have now quit decaling for the rest of the year as the weather is now colder and sealing perfectly is now impossible to do since how cold Canadian winters are, also don’t have enough time to decal anyways. I have big plans for next year and I have done a bit of tinkering and I can now mod helmets for range finders whether that be lego’s or CAC’s, also macros from arealight too! So I’m going to improve next year and there will be lots of great figs for the collection that will be high quality and worth the effort, nothing will be in vain and will not be wasted. Hope you all enjoyed my story and the lesson I learned is practice makes perfect and to keep trying and trying instead of giving up early, you may get good at it as a reward for patience.

    You did a nice job for your first time BBP! Did you spray it as well? I messed up on spraying the sealant when I did it my first few times.

      @@bbpstudios7690 The spray helps to seal the decal to the minifigure so it doesn't fall off. I'm still a noob at decaling so I still have much to learn lol

    Just a tip but if you don’t want peeling you need to get sealant and seal it

    I also had a hard time decaling at first but I have gotten so much better. It takes some time and then you will get good at it. With the Howzer in the video you put the leg decals on the wrong legs. I did the same with my howzer lol

      I just used some random white legs I found in my collection, and actually removed the printing of a torso using nail polish. There are also cheap plain white torsos on bricklink. I got the helmet from Jonaktoys themselves, it is a custom one though

  • @baconbriqs
    @baconbriqs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That’s pretty good for your fist decal figure! Did you seal your figure in the thumbnail because I think that may be the cause of the helmet peeling like that

    Nice video and everything, but the thumbnail is incorrect and unfair (and outrageous?).
    You put in expectation a ROTS decal (Revenge of the Sith) and in the reality a Animated (Clone Wars) decal.
    Obviously the realistic and animated style look different, but a lot of company, for example Avfigures, produces both realistic and animated, so it’s not expectation vs reality, is which one you order, realistic or animated.
    P.S.:in the “reality” (Animated Clone Wars style), you missed the decals for the holes under the “mouth”…

    • @bbpstudios7690
      @bbpstudios7690  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bro, didn’t mean to confuse you. The reality shows a messed up decaled clone, has nothing to do with the animated style, it’s supposed to show that decaling is harder than it looks because I messed up the first one badly
