I would highly recommend using sewing scissors to cut out the decals and remember the most important tip, if you screw up when applying the decal soak it in water and then move the decal with your finger if it doesn't move just soak it more.
Cutting the decals out with an XACTO knife will help minimize the bits of the black outline on the helmet, as well as the excess bit of the decal hanging off the leg. I use a dollar store cutting mat to cut them out on, so I don't scratch up the surface. Also, try and cut as close to the edge of the actual decals as possible. Another thing is, for the legs, you can cut in the blank areas or the decals to make sure they fit.
You definitely did a good job! Remember that it was your first time! I ruined my first decals as well by spraying way to much sealer.. But hey that's life! But the most important question is what code did you use? ;)
Great video and I think you did a pretty good job for your first time decaling. I think it would be better if you cut out the decals with your xacto knife because you would be able to get right up to the visor and not leave any outline. Also when you are decaling the helmets with Jonak decals you don’t need a stand because you can hold the back side of the helmet with no problem and it will be easier to decal because you can get in on any angle.

I ordered some decals today I’m excited for when they come in
Where do you get them?

Ya I realized as a I was doing it all you really need is the decaled part the rest just blends into the trooper.
I decaled my first clone troopers a few weeks ago. Let’s just say one of them looked as if he’d been in battle a few times
Haha nice.
I’m just getting started with decal.
They look great!!
Thank you!
Oh, this is exciting! My first decals will arrive during the next month🤟
Meine krieg ich morgen!!🤩🤩🤩
Heck ya! Where did you buy them from?
@@coconutbricksstudios Directly from Jonas, that was the beat way...
Nice I go with him as a well.
Sorry I couldn’t make it to the premier. These look good. Keep up the great work.
Thank you man.
This is epic for a first time
Thanks man! Glad to hear it!
Sorry I missed the premier but dang that looks fire !
Also great job with your first decal!
Thanks for watching man!
Sorry missed the premiere, good work mate! Better than my first attempt haha
Haha thanks.
@@coconutbricksstudios you’re welcome
Wow looks pretty good
Thank you!
I’m not a fan of decals but they definitely add to a cool clone collection
Some look really good!
This looks really nice man! The one on the left is a little messy but still looks nice
He is rough looking Hopefully the next batch is better.
On the clear coat drips/sags you can use 400 grit paper and wet sand. Then respray. HTH.
Amazing Job! I tried this but I didn't use a sponge or have all those tools and it went south real quick
I have been thinking about trying decaling
It can be a great way to build your army.
If you need any decaling tips, feel free to reach out to me!
I didn't know you were a decal guy. I will definitely do so.
Surprisingly the AP2 is the hardest type of P2 figure you could make. 2020 has the easiest helmets but RP2 is the easiest overall.
Nice I just finished my first decals a week ago
Nice what did you decal?
@@coconutbricksstudios I decaled a 41st grunt

I am probably the only one who doesn't have a discount code of some kind 🤣. Ya I am hoping for a better turnout next time thank you for watching!
@@coconutbricksstudios Feel free to use GM5 anytime man ;)! Excited for your next ones! No problem man, I watch it with pleasure!

My fingers are too fat I need the stand🤣. Good to know I will use the knife next time.
Did you used micro sol only ?
Or you used micro set and sol
The decals are stickers, right?
i'm going to 3d print clones so i'll have to paint them

Everyone reading this comment a question so we can get a q and a from coconut bricks so he can see this
I guess no one had a question.
@@coconutbricksstudios yeh it was worth a shot
I wont decal cause i cant
👍
Decaling looks like a giant pain in the ass
It's not as bad a sit looks, bit it takes a little while. I would imaging more complicated decals are a bigger pain.
