This board is actually on its way to my door at the release of this video and I prayed to the skate gods that it was a good first impression lmaoo! THANK YOU SKATE GODS! Now even more Stoked to get this board!
this channel one year from now... PERFECTION. ready for it to blow up
just borrowed my friends stoke for the first time. im 41yrs old, never ridden an E board before, and its the most fun ive had in years!!!! having a blast on our empty roads, will be saving my penny's now, this is a must buy for me
41 here as well and looking for an e board myself. For me the drivetrain looks to low to the ground. I would consider the backfire mini on my roads. But still this evolve is very nice! Drive safe in the future! Regards Sven
I just got my Stoke and rode today for the first time. This is my first eskate, but I grew up skating in the 80's.
I found it easy to ride right out of the box, although I am still adjusting the trucks each ride. The rear has a bit too much movement for my liking, and is not balanced with the front (I weigh 180 lbs). I'm sure I'll get it dialed in soon.
I took it for a spin on a flat beach path today, and turned around after 2.7 miles when the battery indicator dropped below 50%. I was running in the Pro setting at around 80% throttle. Approximately 14-18 mph. When I got back to where I started, I had gone 5.4 miles, and the battery indicator showed 24% remaining. I'm not sure if the gauge is not linear, or if I got better range on the return trip due to wind, or perhaps going slightly slower. Time will tell.
So far I love the board, but I do think the battery is too small. After 25 minutes, I still want to ride some more.
Can’t wait for the full review!
I own a stoke and it is awesome! Literally the best electronic skateboard ever! Carves like a dream and the power is awesome.
Went from a Boosted V2 to a Stealth then sold it on once I realised that parts would be a nightmare to get hold of now they`ve gone under. Had the Evolve Stoke for just over a month now. The remote and acceleration curve took a lot of getting used to coming from a Boosted. The power delivery seems to be a lot more sudden and nowhere near as smooth. I can honestly say though once I got to grips with the board and it quirks it became a shredding machine. I`m having way more fun on this than I did on either of the Boosted`s.
4:07 a clean S14 😍
Great review! You’re the reason I got a Carbon GTR
So glad I could help bud !
Same!
I put 100 miles on mine with the softer blue wheels before I returned it mainly because I purchased it as a commuter option (6 miles each way) and it was uncomfortable leading to pain in my feet and lower back after long (10 mile rides). I do miss it however because it was so much fun to ride but not for my commuter purposes. Better to love and lost then to never love at all. I’m hooked on electric vehicles now. Maybe I’ll repurchase it in the future just for recreation.
If only the 6" AT kit would fit with the Stoke, that would be another level!
Risers...
97 will fit :))
Wow...never would have thought this at first but I think I'm going with a stoke
Great review, thanks. I bought the Carbon GTR Street and the ABEC 107’s due to your great reviews and I couldn’t be happier...however, as a professional pilot I’m gone 6 months out of the year and of course can’t take the GTR. Perhaps I could take this? The main thing we miss on the road is easy transportation. Uber/Lyft/taxis, but I just want to go ride. I end up in some pretty cool places and having a travel E-board that I could take would be life changing on the road.
Awesome video! The board looks like a lot of fun and a Really informational review.
Big thanks. This is just a first impression. Full review is coming soon.
Seriously cant wait for the review! been wanting to get this board as I think its got the closest feel to a snowboard great content!
Yeah, I almost got a gtr after watching your reviews and went with the stoke, no regrets 😀
I’d feel the same way. Little beast ! I can’t stop looking at mine 😂
I decided to get a gtr instead of a stoke and I am really regretting it.
@@jayswallow2554 im still deciding but I'm probably getting stoke to save 700$ but lose a bit of range:(
@@chad9160 Same. The range on the Bamboo GTR is amazing but the Stoke looks good and carving would be great. If only the Stoke had good range
Nice review dude. Feet placement and stability rocks.
Thank you :)
Awesome video. Quality is crazy dude keep it up
Massive thanks man
They need a quick swap function. So you can have unlimited range ie no screwing unscrewing etc
Nice vidéo ! But I prefer waiting for the Exway Wave
I’ll make a video on that too!
I’m waiting too! I returned my Stoke for reasons I stated above but would love a less expensive model for recreation.
I'm also in the market for a mini and definitely waiting on the Exway Wave too. However, both boards the ride will be different, the Stoke has DKP trucks so it would be more carvy, whereas the Wave would be more similar to a Boosted Mini
Can’t wait to try the Exway clone of this.
Is that the exway wave
I think Exway being single kingpin will be similar to boosted mini
What did this clone of? Boosted mini with bamboo deck?
Great content ! A french rider 👍🛹
4:06 Siliva S14 facelift, you don't see stuff like that in the UK often!
Jan Quadrant Vincent 16 beautiful
Jan Quadrant Vincent 16 unmolested too
Really great and informative video...I think you’ve just made my mind up
Happy to help! Discount code in video description too
Would you recommend this for a first time rider? Never owner a board before and would like to purchase one. Thanks
One of my favorite Goto boards.
You should try make a diy board you will be very happy with the results because you can put everything you like into your board and take away the stuff you don’t from commercial boards
THANK YOU for an honest review!!! Been (Genuinely) tempted after owning a GTX and GTR, so sincerely would like to thank you for this.... May have to take a quick trip to the @evolveskateboards head office this weekend for a test ride!:)
....and yes....a Londoner now living in the Gold Coast in QLD, so am INCREDIBLY fortunate to be so close the HQ
This is a great review! Its so refreshing to see a review by a Brit, punchy and astute
I would prefer some more actual footage of climbs, how the boards carve around tight obstacles and at speed. Can they cope with sand, wet, puddles, mud, steep hills.
Could you do a comparison between evolve stoke, urban kick slick revolution and a carver/mellow drive setup?
Also how hard is the battery to swap? Mellow is easy, what about the stoke?
This board is a carving-machine. I love it.
Trying my evolve carbon GTR tmrw ! im hype
I want the stoke but is there anyway to get all terrain wheels? I live in a hill kind of area do you thing it will still ride well.
Great Video as always! But would you say that its a suitable replacement for the Boosted Mini series? It wrecks boosted in speed, range and acceleration. Would you say that the price too is reasonable...ish?
They actually just dropped the price today. It’s now £949 in the UK which is reasonable for the build, quality and performance.
Forgot to ask, how's your stealth held up i.e. battery and motors?
Reviewing the blue 77a anytime soon?
Im a absolute beginner, i really want one of these. Are electric skateboards easy to learn to ride??
Hey great video as always. Can I ask what kind of hemlet are you using in this video.??
Max wheel size ?
Subscribed. Love your reviews and attention to detail. I wonder which would be better for a first-time eskater looking for an airline-friendly, 12 mile + commuter: Stoke or Meepo Mini 2 ER? Bear in mind, I am in pothole city (NYC). 😁
Big thank you!. Stoke in my opinion
hey chris, not long ago I started riding a little penny board and am not bad except for occasional stepping off balance. Do you think the stoke is much easier as you don't need to kick off? your vid is rlly convincing.
Hey, not sure what you mean because none of the eboards I have need a “kick off” you just ride. What exactly do you mean?
Quality video. Love your work, my dude. Wish I had the money to get this board....
The most important question here is: is it still considered a mall grab if you carry the board by the bash-guard?
Good point. Perhaps your should make a video or opinion poll on this?
I’m saving up for a board and looking at the GTR bamboo street ... do you think this is a good buy because I would use it to ride from my apartment to my university campus which is 8km away... I traditionally have had lots of boards but longboards are my favorite... or do you think the stoke will be good for this and save me money ? Or just keep on saving up and get the GTR ?
I got both and for commuting I use the GTR. Stoke is great fun at low speed carving and sliding on super smooth surfaces but take too big of a toll on the knees for longer rides. Just my 2c
hey chris ive got a question about the stoke vs. the exway x1. i have a bamboo gtr and i love the carving but the board is too big and heavy for me to take to college and on planes. I will get a smaller board and am considering which board to get, either the x1 or the stoke. After riding an evolve board, ive fallen in love with the carving and would love to keep that carving in my next board, which is why i am thinking about the stoke. The only downside of the stoke is that it is still a little heavy and expensive. How is the weight and portability of the stoke? Does the x1 carve well? Cuz if it does then the price and weight seem too good to pass up. Hope you see this, love your videos dude!
Hey Jay, x1 is easy to travel with but to my knowledge, you can’t fly with it. The stoke can fly. I’m not a big fan of hub motor boards due to the lack of wheel options and thin rear wheels but the x1 is a good all round board with a similar range to the Stoke. Id suggest getting exway board with Riot (personally) I’d personally go Stoke but thats just my Slightly biased opinion 😂
average eskate reviews I ended up getting the exway while it was on sale. Once I got used to how it rode differently from the bamboo gate street I loved it. also it seems like exway discontinued the x1
Hey man, great video. I'm in the same boat, came from a Stealth and recently picked up a stoke. Few things came to mind while watching the video. You really ought to try the Blue Caguamas. They make a pretty spectacular pair with the Stoke. As far as sliding goes, practice in a parking lot and it will click eventually. Took me less than half an hour. After I rotated my wheels (front to back back to front) I was able to start learning full board slides shortly after. It becomes addicting and that 6-7 mile range turns into 5-6 lol. Looking forward to the video.
That’s epic! Thanks for the feedback man. Gonna practice my slides over the next few weeks and see what I can do.
Thanks for the video!
Think this board would be an absolute killer if would take some 100mm, 110mm or 120mm Cloud Wheels, maybe with some truck raisers!? Would be amazing if you could test it! Cheers
Cloud wheels are terrible ! Working on a video explaining why
Really! Ok, waiting for it and glad I did not order yet. I was looking for the 100mm ones for my yuneec to handle the gravel better if you have any suggestions. Is pretty underpowered so can’t go with AT at all unless I change the gearing a lot 🤔. Thanks dude!
Is it compatible with Waterborne adapters.?
Awesome review bro
Great review, again. The only thing I don't get is why Evolve, the top of the esk8 market would produce a sub-par mileage board when Chinese boards are reaching in excess of 20+ miles. Looks like the dream board for me, but the mileage sucks!
The Stoke to me is more of a “last mile” commuter type board or get outside and go nuts than a “Let me go 20 miles today” type of board. It’s just not that type of Stoke or trying to appeal to that type of audience. Saying that, I’ve got the travel battery for the bamboo which is the same battery the stoke uses. So I can effectively double the range by replacing 7 screws and connecting 1 cable.
Can you review SR Flex-E 2.0 and urban kick please?
If SR will give us one to review.. sure !
@@averageeskatereviews cheers for your help earlier dude!
Agreed!
How does this compare to the Boosted Mini X? I have never ridden an Evolve. Though they do look like they were made by someone who has never skated before. I have a mini x and it feels super balanced and well engineered. It feels like a real skateboard. Not a piece of wood with a motor on it. I’ve been considering an evolve for a while. But have heard lots of negatives to it
Debating buying the gtr Carbon is it worth the price? How many miles do you have on evolve boards
Please watch my other videos. All answered there. Depends so many things but everything is in my videos
average eskate reviews will do :) watching as much as I can. I love just cruising around and want a great board. I have a loaded dervish and this would be my first e skate board hmm
Does the stoke come with the orange remote as standard?
No I ordered that separately
@@averageeskatereviews damn!
I just ordered my stoke yesterday, with the orange wheels 🤙
Will be nice in addition to my CGT, just something to have fun with
I'm just about to decide what to buy between a bamboo GTR and the Stoke and I have no idea what to choose
buy the stoke if you want portability and a lower cost. Buy the GTR if you want better range, top speed, and stability.
Dropping a video on all three boards and how to decide. Give me 4-5 days
Love your content, what is your other channel?
Thank you :)
Hockey Tutorial
I thought this got renamed as the Bantam?
It was the bantam but they has to change it, and then they removed it to stoke
You push me to buy an gtr, awesome board ;)
Then NOW you want me to buy a stoke???!?!! Really? Come one? .....ok I'll buy one........
🤣😂🤣😂 maybe you should stop watching 🤣😂 but seriously, don’t stop watching
The thumbs down are from the exway fanboys
I blame the price...
Esk8 Jaimes sorry broke boy
I would buy another Evolve board after that sad cheap shot that Matty from Evolve Posted . There's way better boards available for the money .
The one thing you can't fault though is the UK Evolve service team . Well worth looking at the other choices out there though ,my opinion anyway . Hope you enjoy what ever you go for ,stay safe 🤙👊
That really shouldn’t be why you stop rocking with a brand. The products speak for themselves m8 🙂.
average eskate reviews Its only my personal view ,nothing more , .As said great service over here (which is important ) but to me it doesn’t justify the money there asking for a mid range board . However their clever marketing suggests otherwise ,and I can’t deny that. 🤙
There is a local store I frequent. Love the place, shopped there for years.
There is an employee that works there I really don't like.
But I'll keep shopping there because he's not the store.
I also love my bamboo gtr so much, so glad I bought it.
I have an exway x1 pro, great board. But evolve is far superior in my opinion.
Matty's review was pointless and a low blow... but sill going to support evolve and all of their other employees!
Bryan Crane The main thing is your happy with your product and the service you get with it and if you get trouble free sk8ing then it’s win . I’ve since stepped away from Evolve boards and have entered the world of Trampa Boards , I love the complete modular build on them and that they are great to customise and alter . There not every ones cup of tea granted but I think it was the next progressional move up the ladder for me to get something and make it very personal . Stay safe n happy sk8ing 🤙👊
@@jamiemuir1557 👍
Hi guys amazing video I also got the stoke amazing board I am going to be making my own video on this soon on my channel soon hopefully gives it another spin on it
Hope we can do a collaboration soon 👍🏻👍🏻
I hope we can bud. Very soon!
Dope as fuck bro! Thank you
Definitely goes 15kms or 9 Miles. I ride it every day
If only these were more affordable, like £600...
you should seriously consider buying another travel battery so you a swap them out and have double range
I have 😊
average eskate reviews then why would range be a bother? Personally mines done the full 15 km as advertised aswell as being able to do extra on 0%...
Oh it's only 945 pound really
Yeah, lunch money 😂
Lol $999. Big NO.
Hi
So cons: short range and high price
Range is the only negative. I don’t think the price is high for what you get. Quality, ride, design and reliability costs money.
Looks like this board has a lot of good stuffs but at the end the range is very low. This is definitely not a board for group ride. It's best for short commute and parking fun. At 1200€ and with the competition today, I find it difficult to justify. Just my opinion.
Aha privilege hey, lunch money when so many can't afford a meal. No worries it's only 945 pound
I am clearly joking. Dark times, please lighten! I wish I could drop the Joker “why so serious” pic right now
Obviously Exway fanboys clicks the dislike btn :)
😂🤣😂 I really don’t mind. Just out here having fun shooting videos
Avoid all Evolve products, they are naff. Buy a Lacroix, Kaly or Trampa.
Wait... you clicked on an evolve board video just to leave this comment ? 🤣 I appreciate your dedication.
average eskate reviews couldnt resist it 😂 it was shared on every esk8 facebook group i’m on 🤪
I have ridden my friends lacroix lonestar before I bought my evolve. Lacroix makes such a nice board. For half the price my evolve was a great buy and such a nice board.
I've been harping on at this dude for ages about a lacroix review 😂, yes... Twice the price but I'm getting almost 100km range, insane speed and the quality is jaw dropping. Can't put a price on that! The high speed carving is indescribable too 🤙
No, Exway Mini is on the way. Way better.
I think you might need to actually try something before you say it’s better 😂
Love my exway. Love my evolve. But realistically the quality of parts and ride of evolve is superior. More customizable too.
@@bryancrane821 Exway quality is superior and they don't overcharge for it.
@@temporarymomentary you're entitled to your opinion. Not sure if you have experiantle knowledge or not, doesn't matter.
I have them both and to me evolve is far better in ride, customization, range and quality of parts (vehicle grade). Still like my exway just fine.
Black Phillip Lol, Evolve don’t overcharge as much as people like to push that. The amount of R&D that goes into their boards, let alone funding basically 90% original components rather than outsourcing (example: Exway outsources Hobbywing esc). Evolve make like $400-$500 per board, they’re not overpriced.
Aren't you meant to disclose the fact they gave you a free board in return for a positive review? Naughty.
Yeah and you're actually promoting misinformation, you'll never get this deck on a plane as carry-on like you said.... no airline allows 85cm, which is the stokes length. Honestly, you've convinced people to buy this as per their comments when this is a sponsored video mate, you've even got your own discount code.
Lol they didn’t give me a free board. They gave me a Bentley 😂. Sidenote: If you followed our channel properly, you’d have seen me disclose the affiliate links the moment evolve gave us one which was end of may 2020 (just over 30 days ago.. when was this review posted ? 🧐). Ask and don’t assume! Makes you look like an idiot. I fly with this size deck all the time. It’s at the discretion of who you speak with at the airport bud 😳 if you’re people skills and communication was better, you’d be able to fly with this board too 🙄. Have a great day.
Stop smoking man 1000 pounds for this your having a laugh aren't you
I don’t smoke. It’s only £949 😳
