  • Episode 07: In the previous episodes, Jimmy went in already knowing which gun(s) he wanted to purchase. As a new or perspective gun owner, how can you possibly know what you should get? Picking one make and model as the “Perfect gun” for your first firearm isn’t necessarily going to be most helpful for you. Rather, in this episode, Jimmy goes over some of the features we believe you should look for in your first pistol to help narrow it down.

    Good Stuff!
The no thumb safety on a striker pistol thing is sometimes very hard to get people to trust you on.
So many times, new buyers walk in with uncle fudd-nutts to "help them" buy their first gun. One of the major requirements set forth by the uncle is a thumb safety; like he has on his 1911. I get it, the buyer thinks they are doing the right thing by maintaining a higher level of safety, but in reality, they will start training and turn into Hoot from black hawk down, and be left wondering why they bought the striker gun with the thumb safety.

Great point, and we have ran into this ourselves with student guns that come through the courses and they explain the exact story scene you mentioned above.

@Vortex Edge funny... Every time Uncle fudd-nuts mentions the 1911 at our gun counter, we hear an eagle cry as well!

Am I the only one who wants a C96 Mauser as their EDC? It has everything you need, lovely wooden holster that raises every lady's eyebrows when you appendix carry. Legend has it this is the origin of the "Is that a gun in your pocket..." story. The wooden holster also thumbs it's nose at the ATF since it readily converts your pistol into an SBR. You also introduce yourself to the wonderful world of handloading straight away. Learning curve, burning smurf I say. Thoughts? 😂

You might be the only one, especially with a wooden holster. Very interesting 😂

My brother just purchased a broom handle Mauser. It is very different to say the least. The ammo he found for it is about 70 years old. And surprisingly there were not a ton of hang fires so far.

@@Auto-Tech-Matt If I can just take my tongue out of my cheek for a little, your brother has good taste in firearms. I really want one too, but I would really just want it for collection purposes.
