Wonderful Mediterranean cruising. Thank you for terrific drone footage. I was surprised by the harbor at Ibiza -- the shoreline looked sparsely developed and I thought Ibiza was a packed, over-populated Spanish resort island.
great vid thanks Mark little tip don't over tighten your drag on your line . if its to tight you will pull the hook ,its okay to let the fish run a bit rather than just drag them in . play with the drag a bit so if the fish go for a run it can and it will just pull line instead of pulling the hook happy fishing mate
You just keep them coming! Thank you! The adventure is still unfolding and what a nice one at that! It still amazes me how great a trip you are on! Nice drone footage and nice to see your progress! have to live without any maintenance in this episode, but guess I'll manage! Awanui NZ is just such a magnificent little ship!!
Hi Mark and Fiona , we remember you both well , I had a car dealership in Upper Hutt and Sandra’s parents had a big dealership called Gething Motors . We had been to your gardens many times and we are so pleased that you are happy and enjoying your retirement like us . Love your show , keep it up 🌺
Great drone footage Mark, well done. Everyone's music is a personal choice, and it's hard to make everyone happy, I really enjoyed your choices in this one, so much I watched it twice. Safe travels
Traveling around the world lets you get into all kinds of trouble simply because you are ignorant of the local rules which cannot be found until you go there and find out. A smile, calm demeanor and letting them you know that you are glad to find out what the rules are is always the right choice. Love the drone footage and the walk to the lighthouse. Nice dance and catch too Mark. Ocean fishing isn't like lake fishing. It seems that I lose more lures than I catch fish in the ocean for sure, and they are nit inexpensive, but when you catch one it is usually a beauty and worth the effort.
Excellent drone videos, the landing is also fun watching you do the acrobatics to catch it, a good laugh. Thanks for sharing with us all. Stay safe and have a great time. 🙂👍🇨🇦
Lovely sunsets really warms me up as the weather hasn’t been the best in South Wales over this weekend. Oh and the dance Mark at the start I’m still lost for words.
@@AwanuiNZ Hi Mark, I watched you servicing I think the water maker possibly generator where your access was very cramped with refilling the oil. I hope this helps I used to work on motorcycles with limited access so used a 500ml syringe to refill with a 8” pipe you can get bigger but I found the 500ml was the best for me with the added bonus of measurements on the side to achieve the correct volume. I hope you don’t mind me sending this over ?
Another great video Mark! Thanks so much for sharing with all of us. You might want to try flying your Mini via FPV--that's how I fly my drone off my boat. Your view is from the front of the drone, so it's much easier to make precision landings on a moving boat. I bring the drone to just above the landing point (maybe the hatch where you were standing), and then I take the goggles off and just drop the drone to land. The DJI Goggles 3 are compatible with the Mini 4 Pro. Might be a great Christmas gift! :-)
Mark stay away from the lollie shop (Chandlery) my kind of shop. Absolutely Awesome presentation and narration again thanks for taking us with u.🇳🇿🇭🇲👍🙂
Yup barrel swivels is what u need those clip ones are useless on bigger stuff..lol love your channel ..in love with the little ship...regards from whangaparaoa
Hey good morning Mark hope things are going great with you have you ever tried to An aircraft Carrier style landing with the drone. You could stand right in front of the forward bench and try to land it on the deck where you usually stand to try to catch the drone it might be an easier way and it might save your fingertips you have an excellent day and hope things are growing great
When I first saw that Radar interference I thought it might have been a SART (Search & Rescue Radar Transponder) Return but the pattern doesn’t match. Very interesting!
I have found that those clips with the metal folding in the centre are a bit light, especially if there are tuna around. A better clip is the one from a single wire and a swivel combined. Cheers Rick
I know you are not a naval pilot, but you are a pilot, so should be able to land that drone on a pitching deck !! 😀🤣 That buoy field you were in, was it listed as what the max tonnage was they buoys could handle ? The coast of Spain does look like a nice place to visit, in the off season. I guess in the season it is a complete mad house. I saw your fishing rods are not secured. Am not a fishing man, but saw on a video of Motor Yacht Loon that they actually tied down the fishing rods so they would not lose them when a large fish would bite. Might that be something for you ?
Trouble with Navionics is that it seems hit and miss as to the information from Local Notice to Mariners and regs they use when compiling the charts. As a former Harbour Master I’ve had issues like this, in my former port Navionics is still showing an exclusion zone for an air display that was only valid for one day more than a year on!
Carefully there Marky. Rayguns dance moves are protected copyright. They just cancelled a musical version in Oz for that very reason! We wouldn't want you being carted off to jail.
Possibly but so often it is spur of the moment. I would have expected signs just like with your car. If there are no signs it’s ok to park. Need to take the portable VHF and call the HM on the way in. We absolutely check carefully each time now.
I meant to post this to your Cartagena video but you had to repost it because of the audio fix. When you are landing the drone, it will be much safer to face the drone away from you. That way left is left, etc. In an emergency, you react the correct way rather than opposite way. I mostly catch myself but I'm on solid ground. Reaching out over the bow like that, I can see you missing, getting chopped, and throwing it in the water. Said from experience - deep slices into fingers and right through fingernails, blood spatter everywhere like a crime scene! I reckon you have enough flat area around the hatches at the bow to land it. Maybe toss down a non slip surface like a big towel so it doesn't slip off the edge onto the deck? Essentially I think you stand back towards the bridge, and bring it in flying the same direction so the boat is chasing it. Then gently slow it down to back up until you are straight over the landing area, with the camera gimbal straight down. Then gently bring her down using the landing function. Be really careful about updating the home point regularly while you are on the move, obstacle avoidance on stop instead of bypass, make sure the lost signal setting is to hover not land! And don't let your battery below half before you bring her back. Might consider also fitting prop guards in case you miscalculate and bump something? BTW in Spanish when a g is before an e like in Cartagena, it's pronounced like a h. So cartahenna. I'm looking to spend a week there next year so thanks for the gorgeous footage! Oh and barista trained here. A latte is always served in a glass. Just ask instead for a flat white.
Great advice thanks so much…I have not been updating the RTH nearly enough! Very few places even know what a FW is and often serve every coffee except an espresso in a glass. Thanks for the hover tip - did not see that setting, it’s a must given over water. Cheers
Why doesn't the idiot land it in the sea! It was flat calm. No wonder the Kiwi navy manages to run a perfectly good ship up on a reef because they don't know how to steer it! I watch superyachts plodding around the Med and they don't seem to have all the troubles that Mark encounters. Maybe it size matters or they have all the right information from whatever services they subscribe to.
Learning, learning all the time. They reckon a boat is best to buy after two years when all the little gremlins have been sorted. Already plonked on drone in the tide trying very hard not to repeat.

Love that you launched the drone while underway. Enjoyed the episode, keep it up ..thank you for the efforts
No problem. Been dying to do that but was waiting for someone else to be on board. I will try on my own at some stage.

Comedy gold, not so much the catching of the mischievous drone but your face when you realise it was all captured on video.😂😂
Yip quite a surprise
Mark you need to get yourself a landing net, string in up and land in it lol
Actually not a bad idea at all

Tied down

Leaving Sunday
@AwanuiNZ Remember to turn your AIS back on.😃

Suspected that. I think the best tactic is to VHF the HM when heading into a port in the dingy and ask the question. So often they do not answer.
@ I hear you. You would have got an answer on VHF in my port 😀 but I know how it feels to not get a reply.
Awesome

You might want to put a lanyard on that rod. I lost a very expensive custom rod and reel off my 1st boat by a big fish strike.
Yip there is one on it now
Now i see the porpoise of dolphin seats . . 😎
Very good Roger
