It’s a good video, and no doubting liked the information in this video, but it’s like the knife community is drinking their own propaganda. When we are really out in the bush, we don’t baton large logs and flat boards. We use hatchets and small axes and only use knives with small pieces.
Obviously, you don't pack out and go on hikes in the Rockies. This is much different than unloading your vehicle and setting up camp 10' away. An extra 3 to 5 pounds is huge when out here, but you have no idea.
Cool Video Jimmy! Yeah, that 3rd knife cut through that wood like butter! Interesting to watch the comparison, and best of all...who would have thought to use dryer lint as a fire starter!!! Thanks for doing this, was definitely fun to watch!
Have 1 small Joker folder with a convex carbon steel blade and it's a beautiful whittler/carver. Should get around to getting a full sized fixed blade convex in carbon steel. Very nice, very useful!!!
Those are all great knives Jimmy! I have the Garberg. They have a carbon steel option but I went with the stainless . I am always around water , so I usually go that route if I can . It's a fantastic knife! I like the sabre grind on it. I usually go with a sabre or convex grind for all around camping. For a slicey knife, cutting food around camo, you can't bear a hollow grind, and the Spydercos. Although I have a Joker Nomad, and that is a beast of a knife! It has a high sabre grind, full convex edge , it is 5 mm thick , but it is surprisingly slicey! I was slicing tomatoes with it 😂. Joker is really a great knife company. They are from Spain, they have great craftsmanship, and the pricing is amazing. I have 4 of the fixed blades
Thanks for the awesome comment and info, Robert! I'll look into the Joker knives for sure. Thanks for that. 👍 Yes, stainless for sure if you're around water or on the coast. I couldn't believe how fast my tools rusted it out on that damn boat 🤣👍
Really good side-by-side, thanks Jimmy. I have the ESEE 4 that is my all arounder, the new Mora Wit (full tang one) is the precision one and a Casstrom for looking good.
Just get a flat grind with a thicker spine bruh or even better, get a thick sabre grind. Best of both worlds. It will split just like your scandi mora and slice like skinny flat Esee
Convex the Best Blade în The world!
Best for batoning and heavy use.
Thanks for this video. Very informative despite my problem with batoning with knives.
Hi Jimmy it was fun to see each knife performing. I really enjoyed seeing this! This was very interesting. Enjoy that beer!🍺🍺❤
Thank you very much, Nancy! Happy Monday to you 🍺 😃
Nice comparison. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, my friend 🍺
Good comparison!
Thanks buddy 🍺👍
That was a great, quick comparison! I did not expect the results with the Mora. All 3 are great knives in any case!😀
Thanks Ken, good fun with knives 👍🍺😃. Like you said, all three are awesome 👌

Thank you, Steve. Much appreciated 🍺👍. Yup, dryer lint works great, especially if you mix some vaseline with it. It's amazing how long it will burn. 🔥

Deadly video. Waiting on the top down fire comments. You about broke the Internet when you made that fire at your cabin 😊🍺
Thank you, sir! Haha, yep, that top-down fire really messes people up 🤣🔥🍺. Have an awesome Monday, my friend

Thanks, Craig 👍. You have a great lineup there. Years ago, I bought the ESEE 4 for my son. Love ESEE knives 👌
Thanks.@@JimmyMeatwhistle
Hi Jimmy, thanks for the video. What brand/model sunglasses are you wearing?
Hi Mark, some cheap Amazon pair. I'll see if I can link to them shortly
What is with the rifle cartridges? If it's for size comparison, we'd need to know the caliber????
I was really pulling for that Esee 3. 😂
Those Esee knives are awesome 👌
Yes esee much better all round knife.
HEY PBR luv it.
I imagine if the Esee and Mora were 1/4” thick it wouldn’t be as noticeable even less so if the Esee had a Sabre grind.

@@1800moonSugar Sabre grind curves wood just fine. I have yet to notice any actual glaring difference to be honest.
