My mother ran a church thrift store for years. At the end the resellers had become impossible. When people would bring in donations, they would stop them or following them to the backdrop off room. One time a man demanded she sell him a rug that had just came in and had not even been looked at or priced. Another time a woman who had opened her own thrift store wanted to buy all the kid's winter coats - to stock her store - my mother would not allow it saying this is to help people out not for your stock. Plus, the items were priced low (it was a church) to really help people in need of clothing and household items - not for someone to turn a profit.
@@cheryldavis8776 You are so right. They make a fortune on free donations and their only claim to fame is providing jobs...at a super low wage. Shameful. I try not to shop at Goodwill at all.
People people people please realize many many Goodwill are not owned by Goodwill organization. Who does all the charity work. Many of them are owned independently and they are only buying the name and they do not follow any of Goodwill‘s policies anymore and they’re getting all this free stuff to sell and making one person rich!! all complaining to corporate. Goodwill is not going to do anything about the independently owned stores who are getting way out of the end.
I am with you Dani, I never had a voice and it is only recently that I have become more vocal (at 68) I guess i feel its time to stand up and to start to believe in myself. I am still cautious not to upset people and cause arguments but I definately have found my voice. 😊
I think you should take things marked with price but without tags to the register. That's how they will realize how many things don't have tags when they have to be put back and how many sales they missed.
Yes, I think this is the right thing to do. I don't shop at Goodwill very often, maybe once a month, but If I something without a tag I take it up to the cashier and leave it with them. Mostly I shop and donate at local charity thrifts. We have a wonderful local outfit called Adopt a Cat that runs a very nice thrift store. I donate to them. I also give them a dollar every time I buy on line using Pay Pal. While the volunteers who work there know their merchandise and price according to real value... I shop there for myself, not resale, and get good buys nonetheless. My new rattan end table came from there, paid $45. It was probably triple that new. It looks near perfect condition. Pick your beneficiaries.
I brought an item without prize to the register in one of Florida GW and one of the employees insinuated that I conviniently removed it. I had never returned to that store but I also called the employee for her rude comment.
Yes a letter would be great, we could also change it to fit our own story! I would definitely send in a letter! Thank you Danni for always looking out for the people…. Many hugs!
I know a lot of the back room employees at several Goodwills and they are in FACT trained to look things up and hold them back for their on line stores!! As well as if it is a good item, but it has a little damage still price at high. It has nothing to do with the resellers. It has everything to do with the greediness of Goodwill and their executives! As well as they ask you to round up because they have already made the donation and they are just trying to get their money back From the Public!!! So stop this insane crap that it is because of the resellers! When in fact, it is the pure greediness and audacity of Goodwill, who gets their goods for free, Pays their employees less than minimum wages tries to get the public to put money back in their pocket that they so-called donated by asking the employees to ask us to round up all under the ruse of doing good for the community! It’s disgusting.
We don’t have that here in Canada. What is it? They’re asking you to round up each individual item as it goes through the check-out or is it the total # at the end? We are asked to donate to the Goodwill program which I stupidly have done many times because I always donate to good causes plus I feel like a jerk when I say no. I have since found out what those donations are for and who they’re actually going to so now I decline. But I don’t understand what the rounding up is all about. could you explain what that is?
My sister and I were talking about the potential to use teapots as bird houses (won't work) and she shared this with me. Not only does the door have to be the right size, there has to be enough depth to the house so the babies won't fall out and predator birds can't get them, or the parents won't choose it. Search for bird house dimensions for further informstion. Unfortunately, most bird houses in thrift stores are decorative only.
In Denver GW has been refusing to sell unmarked items for ages. You are right, it is disappointing and frustrating! Its also very annoying when an item that shows that it was from the Dollar Tree has a price marked up to $3 or more. When I first started watching reseller's videos they would find neat items as low as .,59. I honestly can't remember anything ever being that low in our stores. Its unusual to find a anything for even $1 even way back then.. I also refuse to round up when checking out! I'm not a reseller, but enjoy the search and have stopped going as often as i used to.
I gave up on our GW in Carson City and Reno, except I finally went to the GW bins in Reno after living here for 23yrs! Saver's prices have been high and we have 2 in Reno. So, I go to my Carson City SA, Classy Seconds, and a few small ones. We do have our Antiques and Collectible Mall which just moved to a larger location and still has a huge waiting list for space! When you came to our area last year, you saw how small our GW is in CC.
It is all so difficult...all the inflation everywhere...I hate this unwashable pen stuff...ruined wiyh tape and pen marks is not cool either with the prices...blessings...great last three videos.
People don’t have much discretionary cash these days. Goodwill has raised prices too much. They will lose business because people will stop buying. I for one will donate to other stores. We have thrift stores in my town where the proceeds go to cancer patients. We also have thrift stores that send proceeds to local animal shelters. Find alternative shops to donate or buy your goods.
Goodwill has lost it's mind. They have price gouging my area for a while now. I've seen things on the shelf that were going for FULL RETAIL PRICE. I have stopped buying from them. I'm not a reseller and I shopped at goodwill because that's all I could afford. Now I'd rather buy new from Amazon and pay about the same amount!
Prices in our Goodwill are not bad, here in Hernando,Ms. My Daughter and I enjoy browsing. We don’t need much of anything but sometimes I just can’t pass it up ! Take care and God Bless you and your family 🥰
Wrens and chickadees will nest in houses with small entrance holes. They don't need people to clean the house out, because they will clean out a house that they find desirable, just like they would in a tree cavity like they've always done before people ever put out birdhouses. I do hope your local Goodwills get the message and stop some of these policies, but I also look forward to seeing you shop the other thrift stores in your area. I think it will be fun to see. Have a great day! 💞💕💞
Flower delivery? The prices are exorbitant as well as the delivery charges! I wanted to order a small arrangement for a family member last year and it would have cost me half my electric bill! Needless to say I went to local market and bought a small bouquet!
Resellers are not the reason prices are up they are only a small part of Goodwill customers. Price increases effect everyone, Think about the customer who shops GW to get clothes, home goods or whatever for their family because it's easier to afford but it's not now. There is a problem when a $1.25 dollar store item is being sold for $3 and it's obvious it's a dollar store item. The administration of GW needs to take a hard look at what they are approving, whether they are ignorant or just don't care. This is just my opinion, not a condemnation .
Just watching your latest vlog Danni. How I wish I could go shopping in your Goodwill . I live in Salford England . Don't like flying or boats . Could you please take more time to look at the clear glass. Love the cut glass lamps also . Great to watch you . Take Care xx
My sister stopped shopping at Goodwill because the employees were keeping all the good stuff back for themselves. In fact, some sellers were working there just so they could get first choice of the items coming in. Is it possible that tags are being left off on purpose so the employees can maybe buy them when they have to put them in the back?
I would think there would be many resellers working at Goodwill if employees get first dibs on donated items. I would want first dibs too if I worked there, that would be a perk of the job I would imagine. I also am not surprised Goodwill is converting to online reselling of higher end items the receive. Whether the employees are doing work for online sales or working in a retail store, they still are providing jobs. Not sure just throwing stuff that mostly needs to be discarded out on shelves has much earning potential. I could see many retail Goodwills closing and becoming mostly donation centers. Greed always ends a lot of programs that begin with good intentions. I grew up poor and my mother shopped stores like these for all of our clothes.
@@CopingwithGrattitude yeah I grew up poor and we thrifted a lot. I still do. Resellers offer a legitimate business too. My mom had a beautiful set of plates she couldn’t really use because she was missing some that had broken. She was able to find replacements online through resellers who had done the hard work of locating them. There’s no way she could have traveled all over the country to locate each replacement plate. I guess I am blessed because I have a chain of thrift stores in my area that are genuinely focused on charity. My sister moved and only has Goodwill. She relied on thrifting while raising her children and the difference with Goodwill was so disappointing. I think those of us who are older just have a different mind set regarding what Goodwill was versus what it is now.
In reference to the orca whale, they are the Apex predator of the sea. An oceanographer friend of mine said they go after seal lions, whales, even sharks. People who prefer to call them orcas because they don’t think it’s fair calling them killer whales likely don’t realize their name comes from the Latin word “Orcinus”, which means realms of the dead. There’s really no sugarcoating it, it’s what they do. They’re fascinating to learn about.
Orcas are carnivorous predators, not cute sweet sea characters. They eat the flesh of animals they hunt and catch in the sea, fish yes, but also sea mammals like sea lions and dolphins and sea turtles !! They even predate baby whales !! I'm afraid people were taken in by the sentimental story behind "Free Willy" and similar stories. Willy, the captive Orca, was fed fish [not alive, by the way] while in captivity and had imprinted with his human handlers and could be touched and even ridden by his handlers [though there were reports of attacks on handlers, kept quiet] , but one reason it was felt he wouldn't survive in the wild, if let free, was because he'd lost his hunting instincts. This wasn't publicized, but is reality. Orcas survive in the wild as fierce hunter/killers. Their hunting and killing abilities keep them alive. Without those instincts, they can't survive in the wild. Predators play a vital role in ecosystems, including the oceans. Let's understand their role and not romanticize it.
@@brendaearl4708and don't be fooled. They have to start controlling prices or the independent thrift & antique people will. PLUS if presented the option for commission? There's major incentive to NOT deal with the bad service, if not exhausting manner to deliver to what my great grandparents did
They are donated free so goodwill can make as much as possible for their charities. They are not donated to be given away for a pittance as they have been in the past.
Our local thrift stores here in central Alabama have been doing the no price thing for years. They don't worry about it because someone will buy it. Second I volunteer at a Christian thrift store, their prices have gone up, not because of greed, but because of inflation. Their building rent is $15,000.00 a month and light bill $7,000 a month. It takes a lot of items just to break even. They also sell online. And they cater to resellers also, our manger makes sure he leaves enough margin for resellers to make a profit.
I was at goodwill yesterday and found a piece I was interested in on a new cart they had just wheeled out. I was looking the piece over and could not find a price on it! I took it to the manager and informed him I had just pulled it off a new cart and it was not priced. Needless to say, he did not look happy. I find a lot of things with no price which is frustrating when you really want to buy it. I understand the new policy and why they do it, what I don’t understand is why a manager does not have the authority to give you a price and create the tag! GW needs to put some trust into their managers, we the customer should not have to come back the next day, hope the piece has been priced and is still there!
I looked up the salaries of the corporate big wigs of this company....😮 wow!!!! It's a shame they have taken such a drastic greedy turn on things they are getting for FREE. such a shame!
OK...much of their inventory is free, but their buildings, equipment, utilities, and pay roll for their employees are not free. I understand they need to make at least enough profit to cover their expenses, but I see more and more people walk into Goodwill and come out with nothing. 2 years ago. I almost always had a whole cart full of purchases. Now, I may purchase one or 2 items if I get lucky enough to find something worth buying. I don't see how their new policies helps their business if they are losing major sales.
I think the saucers and later the yellow sugar bowl and creamer are Homer Laughlin.... or a copy. My mother had the whole set in dark and light green....back in the 1950's.
The prices at goodwill here in Canada are ridiculous. The stuff is donated! Why are they pricing it so high? I can go to ardenes and pay the same or less.
I think everyone is having a bad heat wave. It got up to 105 here in north Carolina Deep Run. But thank you for uploading every day if you didn't I wouldn't have anything good to watch 😊❤
Yes, I remember when I bought something from you and the little pouch you put it in was almost prettier than the item itself. I can’t remember what I bought, but it was very nice of you to do that. Thank you again, if I didn’t back then.
In my area, Goodwill and Savers will sell items without a price tag so I do bring them to the checkout in my cart. And they usually give me a very fair price on the spot because I shop there a lot and they know I'm a reseller. But Salvation Army will not sell items that don't have a price tag so I leave those on the shelf.
Sadly the reselling market and You tube market has exploded at such a rate, that Thrift stores and even garage sales are looking at ebay etc. for their price points. Everything is costing more. Although most thrift stores get donated items for free, there are so many costs as you know Danni, (overhead) etc and when we have dozens of You Tubers in Vegas going to all the same stores, the employees watch everyone's videos and they price it for what you are recapping it's worth. I worked at Savers in several states for almost 18 yrs. I sat in the corporate offices for meetings and worked the back rooms processing goods too. There are no easy answers, You had a store, I went there a few times, location, prices, profits, etc all effected your store too. We all love a bargain and the thrill of the hunt. I sadly do not see it getting better, but we enjoy your videos. I do ebay too, and even ebay has become a place where people bid and do not pay, file false claims on items, etc. We just all need to be kinder, honest and encourage each other.
I've talked with the corporate execs here in Vegas about this very thing and they assured me TH-camrs are not the reason for increased prices and in fact, many stores are over pricing things they shouldn't be. I imagine they have quotas and some managers think the way to increase sales numbers is to increase prices when in fact they would be very surprised how much more they would sell if they did the opposite. I understand some things being special and red tagged with a higher price! That is how I ran my store, but the majority of goods was to be moved quickly as possible. Also at Goodwill the items of value with high prices end up damaged and often ending up at the bins and then to the landfll - that is the part that upsets me the most when it is so unnecessary!
People do not donate nearly as much as they used to, so a business now needs to purchase items then of course the prices will spike. What I don't understand is why big box stores would rather throw things in their dumpsters than donate the items to charity stores.
Our Goodwills do not even have a color sale anymore. You get $5 off when you spend $100. It’s total BS! The items are marked higher than eBay prices. They sit on the shelves not selling, then get broken and I’ve witnessed the workers throwing broken items in the dumpster! They would rather throw away items than sell them at a reasonable price! You are right. We need to boycott Goodwill to send the message that we are fed up!!
I would go in one day and shop for only non priced items and take the cart full to the manager. 🫣🤗🤗🤭🤭😂🤪🤪. But that’s just me. 😱😱🤭🤭. Love your videos 💯💯💯💕💕💕🤗
As a former employee of another well known thrift store, I can tell you that it is more likely that items without price tags are due to people pulling/peeling them off and putting them on other items so they can get a lower price. All items are likely to leave the production room with a price tag. A few might fall off if they're not put in a place where they're gonna stick good. Stickers are less likely to stay in place on cloth and wood items with rough textures. At the thrift store I worked at there was a code on the price tag that told us what department it was from. So if someone brought up a candlestick, for example, and the tag was coded "toys", we pretty much knew the tag was switched and therefore instructed not to sell the item. It would go into the "go backs" and have to go to the back room to be reevaluated and repriced.
You can’t complain about Goodwill prices and policies if you’re going to continue to support them by donating your items and shopping at their stores. I have been supporting other smaller charity, thrift stores in my area and only go to Goodwill as a last resort when all the other thrift stores are closed. Occasionally, I do find an item or two that they have missed and that I’ve been able to resell for a profit….
I don't donate to Goodwill. I do shop there mainly because I am a content creator who depends on an algorithm to make sure my videos still are being shown to people and Goodwill is a big keyword. I will have to transition slowly away from it or I could crash my channel sadly.
@@TheNICHELady title all your videos "Goodwill s*cks" so I shopped somewhere else. 😃. I'm mostly kidding of course, but I think there's gotta be a way to beat the algorithm
I really get it now! Red tagged items too high are being handled and put down they have chips and breakage. Now they are half off and people don’t buy them. I don’t shop at Goodwill or donate to them. It’s a shame. Yes you are right to say people should write to corporate and voice their concerns. I understand you are a reseller and you have to work with the rules of how and who you sell to. It’s just too bad, because there should be room for fairness and for everyone to be happy. In the end it seems that some businesses will only change their policies when their business slows down because of lack of customers. It affects us all. That ceramic mask you picked up with no price was beautiful. They need to have one or more employees on staff who are present everyday to be knowledgeable to price an item on the spot if there is no price tag. It use to be customer is always right and or keep the customers happy. Thank you for your videos. It’s almost a shock to pick up an item and find it is in decent shape and the price tag is on it and it’s a fair price.❤❤❤❤❤Take care!
@@TheNICHELady I get it. Very smart, actually. That makes a lot of sense..Unfortunatley Goodwill has been around for so long and such " a household word when it comes to donating items," and so many people are talking about them ...not all positive unfortunately. That's about all they have going for them right now is there long standing name. They will slowly destroy themself if they keep going the way they are going, but it will take a long time. I don't think they really care, as long as they are making money ... and meeting their "quota". Retail stores are not their only source of income I'm told. Keep up the good work! I love your videos!
I just have to say that I don’t enjoy going into Goodwill as much as I used to. The prices have gotten crazy. I saw a spaghetti sauce jar there for $2.99. The kind you throw in the trash.
I used to visit GW 3 times a week but don't ever go anymore, there are other thrift stores here. I stopped ordering jewelry boxes and I don't buy from GW online anymore. I find lots of other things. I drive by two GW stores nearly every day and I can tell you the parking lots are dismal looking. I wish them lots of luck but I think we are all seeing such a high increase in pricing we can't shop there anymore.
I have been giving my donations to a mom & pop thrift store. They need it more than these corporate stores. They are smaller, but also the prices are better. Goodwill needs to get a grip. When you sell broken and overpriced items, they will not sell, so wheres the purpose in that? They would sell more stuff and make more money if the prices were better. They are blinded by greed.
Hi Dani! George has been picking masks lately and he goes fir Clay Art, signed ones from New Orleans and if course Italy. It would really help if they didn't tag over the makers marks too. And instead of using tape use clear wrap, then the can stick the tags on it and write on the wrap. Did you try getting the mask? There was a price on it...
In addition to the things you have mentioned that frustrate you, my biggest irritation is how much more Goodwill or Salvation Army would sell if their prices were more reasonable AND all that they get to sell has been DONATED! There is no reason to charge like they are for that Precious Moment or to have so many more red tags... It's really discouraging but I do appreciate your attitude in that there is no reason, either, for us to get bothered... it is frustrating though! The "why" in my opinion is greed because, like I said, all of this is donations....
Goodwill operates in Canada under the name Renaissance. The prices at the one near me have skyrocketed recently. Obviously there’s been a decision made to increase prices. They are tax exempt in Canada, the price you see is the price you pay. Items that previously would be $2.99 are now $6.99, the increase is pretty dramatic.
GW executives told store employees to benchmark their prices to Walmart. The problem is that they’re dealing with used donated items that have no warranty or return policy. Don’t return the next day! I wasted half a tank of gas going back and forth for a particular item that didn’t have a tag. It’s not a 24 hr turn around, it’s 2-3 days+. Whoever enacted these policy decisions doesn’t know their customers.
It’s funny you should mention FTD I just had a kerfuffle with them sending my mother flowers to Florida from Canada. Apparently FTD has merged with From You Flowers LLC. The sending and receiving flower industry is still going strong online, but it is taking away a lot of business from small independently owned shops.
The Fiesta-like cups and saucers are Homer Laughlin "Harlequin" ... we had a set of Original Green when I was growing up, and I've sold a number of pieces from the set recently.
My Goodwill has had that policy for a long time. When I see an item that doesn't have a price tag I usually leave it on the shelf. I'm soooo jealous of all your Cat people you buy for..... I saw a Shih Tzu @ 09:28...& You didn't even notice it.... Love your videos. I've learned a lot about glassware from you. Thank you!
Usually if I don't touch something it's because I can see some sort of damage or quality issue, I will be more aware of actually showing what I'm seeing!
I'm not a resaler but have enjoyed watching you for several years. It's a shame that Goodwill takes the "good" stuff away and charge practically retail when there is a lot of people who shop there because they can't afford the regular shops. Sad thing too, is they price things so people won't pay that, then it goes to the bins. I do a lot of crafting old books and magazines. My Goodwill is now charging Amazon prices. That was the final straw for me. Stopped going to Goodwill 😭
Danni, as a child I did have a voice and I was heard. As an adult I’m still going to be heard. This policy is GW has come up with is ridiculous. Someone who doesn’t shop at GW is making up policies to ensure they keep their job. Big corporate machine Seen it often It’s ok to voice your opinion! Let’s do it!
I absolutely agree with you, thar goodwill has not only lost their minds theyve driven off the cliff.i love thrifting, ive done it so many times and i enjoy it still at 65,but i dont have any more friends around that arent gone home to the lord..i wish i had s buddy to thrift with!!❤ Ive seen alot ofvthe things youve oucked up,too expensive smh,i bet youd find better deals in the dumpster behind the store, ive done 😅
I feel really lucky that my local Goodwill will still price untagged items. They bagged my items yesterday in a pristine Marc Jacobs tote bag that I can also resell so I scored!
I always bring it up if not marked, I tell them sadly I would have bought it but I know the policy so I’ll leave it to be priced for the future, if the pricing staff is still there they frequently find me and give me the item priced. I think the key is not asking them to price it. Works 9 out of 10 times. But I get it I am usually looking for the colors of the day. I know that this item is coming back with today’s color. You know who I’m upset with is the people who take the tags off.
I really respect you and love watching your channel. I don’t miss a video ever. I am a little disheartened because I watched a video where you said email me if you want this specific clothing we can make a deal or we can talk about it and I did two times and I never heard a word from you.❤
Oh goodness Deborah I don't have an email from you! Sometimes the internet is a whackadoodle place please please email me again and I will purposely look for it in my spam folder if it doesn't come to main folder!
@@TheNICHELady I don’t remember the email address any longer. It was about a jacket that had a like a skull or something like that on it. It was very cool. It’s been a while almost a month I think.
Thanks for explaining why they should price the item when they’re not priced at the beginning. The way you think makes sense. I wish GW would see things logically like you do.
I never buy used pillows, cause I get kind of creeped out by the thought of all the stuff that might be hiding inside them ☺️ (skin cell critters, dog hair etc etc). If I love the cover, and if it’s washable, sure - it can be taken off and the pillow can be replaced. Yes, I do know that they can be washed, but sometimes they come out kind of lumpy and with a funny shape.
Maybe think back to how you priced the items in your store and how you justified those prices and lowered in blocks, just like goodwill. It’s business, whether non profit or not. They’re marketing to the public, not to resellers. Resellers can get their bargains at half off days or when something is marked low. You still always seem to get a good collection of items that you’re able to resell. My local goodwills post anything decent online. I love that Racu vase that you got at such a great price! I’ve never found anything like that around me! Good for you!
Small independent stores are not the same as a large corporation with tons of donations daily to process through. AND I still priced below market prices and below Goodwill prices on almost everything!
I would take item to the checkout so they can see how much isn’t priced. I don’t go to goodwill any more they don’t have half off stuff at the ones around me
Goodwill is so packed, if they could price lower & price at the counter they can move out more before going to the bins. This policy makes zero sense to me!
I very rarely shop thrift stores. The prices in my area aren't bad, but too many resellers shopping in the very few thrift stores in my area. I mostly do online and in-person estate sales, flea markets (sometimes) and garage sales.
The Goodwill's on our area/state don't have color of the week sales anymore & have gotten very expensive. I also here more people are donating to other places more & more.
I think GW will go back and forth and raise prices up to close to "full retail." Then they'll see how the merch isn't moving so much and bring them back down. MAYBE they're hoping that reseller customers can just buy directly from them? What they don't get is that resellers are really CURATORS and do a lot of work selecting their inventory, cleaning it, preparing it for sale, photographing and listing and promoting, shipping and building their sales toward customers who are looking for certain items. I believe most customers looking for vintage, antiques and specialty collectibles, don't want to go do all the work that resellers do in bringing their merch to market. If you do reselling, even part-time, you know what I'm talking about.
The dishes are the Harlequin pattern in Fiestaware colors by Homer Laughlin. There were 3 patterns all in original Fiesta colors. Fiesta, Harlequin, and Riviera.
I was complaining clear back when the bins increased the prices. I've been giving it some thought. I have been running a business off and on for 10 yrs. I have decided to ride it out because those who cannot afford to ride, will stuff off and there will be less competition. 😅
Goodwill should be thanking you everyday and all the other TH-camrs who shop at their Goodwill stores! You have reached many people and have educated on how to seek the treasures. Corporate greed is the culprit- NOT Danni. They need to stick to their 1.99 - 5.99 price model or they are going to lose everyone!
THE ONLY WAY FOR GOODWILL TO OPEN THERE EYES AND STOP PRICING SO HIGH PEOPLE NEED TO DONATE ELSEWHERE THERE ARE ALOT OF SMALL BUISNESS THRIFT STORES THAT NEED THE DONATIONS
I have really enjoy watching your videos and getting to know your children. I’m wishing Jordan the best wedding and the happiest marriage. Hope Goodwill does loosen up on their prices. I think most of us that shop there are looking to save money.
Hi Danni! Can you look for glass ice tea/drinks unique pitchers? I could get one at Walmart but i'd rather find something that you can find in the wild! Thank you!
Lol. Guess what happened to me today. I went to my local GW in San Diego. Just as I passed the lamps I hear a loud noise. I turned around and burst out laffing cuz someone was testing a vacuum cleaner!
They think that their stuff is “great”, most of it is a bunch of junk that people realized that it was just junk in their house and got rid of it. It is all about money, always all about money!!!
I shop @ humane society thrift find many new hardware & clothes & kitchen items new some hardly used; I always find useful things& pet supplies, linens, books & even walkers & canes just ❤ all of it & I tell them keep the change!
It's funny this whole content creating thing, if I don't add something in for talking points, something that gets people watching and chiming in TH-cam doesn't promote my videos out and I lose money. Now that being said I'm not one for click bait or creating drama just for views - but if something is big news around here and affecting people I do talk about it. Not trying to be negative but this is also a pain point for so many trying to make a living in the reselling game!

A LONG time ago Goodwill raised their prices to RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! I have bought so much because of it!!!!
I am with you Dani, I never had a voice and it is only recently that I have become more vocal (at 68) I guess i feel its time to stand up and to start to believe in myself. I am still cautious not to upset people and cause arguments but I definately have found my voice. 😊
Yes. At 73 yrs old I feel I've earned the right to speak out (politely). 😊
Danni one great storage container is fishing tackle boxes,I use a brand new one my hubby bought me for sewing supplies,be great storing jewellry
Many hugs!
Hi Danni...i love and admire your positive and "can do" attitude. It is this spirit that contributes to your success
But she's complaining in this whole video 😣
I agree!!! And the CEO makes at least a high 6 figure salary. I don't shop or donate there. I go to my local ministry thrift store.
Thank you. Here it is. Goodwill darkens their reputation.
Rename: "BADWILL"
I don’t hold anything against resellers! I give them kudos for seeking out the good stuff! They have a business and some are pretty damn good at it!
plus here in wisconsin..have to bring ur own bag..they do not offer bags for your purchases
Yeah, I can’t do flowers anymore either.
Wages went way up, not gradually as in past years!
@@LindaSolinskiGW employees in my town make minimum wage.
Great video Dami. Some of those prices are ridiculous 😊
Not true. Grounds for termination.
Here in our GW(Va) the employees can’t shop at the stores that they work at, only at other GW and they show their work ID to get a discount.
They need to eat, too
Orcas are carnivorous predators, not cute sweet sea characters.
I'm genuinely blown away at some of the prices lately. These items were donated! Free! Why? It's insane.
You can actually buy new with tags clothes cheaper at Walmart than Goodwill. They have great clearance sales at the end of every season/holiday.
@@brendaearl4708and don't be fooled. They have to start controlling prices or the independent thrift & antique people will. PLUS if presented the option for commission? There's major incentive to NOT deal with the bad service, if not exhausting manner to deliver to what my great grandparents did
...or Poshmark which has a huge market place. @@brendaearl4708
Miss Danni, your frustration is valid. VERY valid 😊
I absolutely agree!
This policy regarding how GW is handling unpriced items is beneficial TO NO ONE!!!
Thank you for making an effort to show the prices today 😁
I looked up the salaries of the corporate big wigs of this company....😮 wow!!!! It's a shame they have taken such a drastic greedy turn on things they are getting for FREE. such a shame!
It's insane how much they make, isn't it??!!
Ain't that the truth!
I like the flocked picnic basket for a great Christmas gift, Christmas bags can run that much...
Should have bought that,I think
@@TheNICHELady]
When asked to round up I usually say, I think I’ve paid enough today, thank you.
People do not donate nearly as much as they used to, so a business now needs to purchase items then of course the prices will spike. What I don't understand is why big box stores would rather throw things in their dumpsters than donate the items to charity stores.
Yes the same in NZ.Vintage items of value are sold online by the stores themselves.Prices are also high here.Enjoy your content.
Crazy prices. I thrift all summer at neighborhood yard sales, stock up for our booth just so I don’t have to pay goodwills high prices anymore.😊
I would go in one day and shop for only non priced items and take the cart full to the manager. 🫣🤗🤗🤭🤭😂🤪🤪. But that’s just me. 😱😱🤭🤭. Love your videos 💯💯💯💕💕💕🤗

Perfect. I would do that too.😂😂
I don't shop at Goodwill. So that eliminates that problem. There are better places to source for goods.
In Australia I prefer the charity and church op shops😊
Same. I’d rather support a cause than corporate greed.
@@suzanneguthrie284 Resellers aren't doing anything to support charity shops - they are buying to resell for more money for themselves.
I think you're right. I was looking at an item at Goodwill and the tag fell off... it was just not stuck on tight. I could reapply it, and did.
Those top executives are way overpaid that’s one reason their prices are so high.
Thank you Lisa

Goodwill done lost their ever luvin mind!! 😮
So what if resellers want to reseller. It's insane to charge 30.00 for broken stuff
I would use that little bridge as a stand for a doll.
Here in AZ employees are not allowed to shop at the store they work at.
Not surprised

The granite ware is called enamel ware ❤😊
I'm not a resaler but have enjoyed watching you for several years. It's a shame that Goodwill takes the "good" stuff away and charge practically retail when there is a lot of people who shop there because they can't afford the regular shops. Sad thing too, is they price things so people won't pay that, then it goes to the bins. I do a lot of crafting old books and magazines. My Goodwill is now charging Amazon prices. That was the final straw for me. Stopped going to Goodwill 😭
Danni, as a child I did have a voice and I was heard. As an adult I’m still going to be heard.

It’s ok to voice your opinion!
Let’s do it!
I absolutely agree with you, thar goodwill has not only lost their minds theyve driven off the cliff.i love thrifting, ive done it so many times and i enjoy it still at 65,but i dont have any more friends around that arent gone home to the lord..i wish i had s buddy to thrift with!!❤
Ive seen alot ofvthe things youve oucked up,too expensive smh,i bet youd find better deals in the dumpster behind the store, ive done 😅

Thanks for explaining why they should price the item when they’re not priced at the beginning. The way you think makes sense. I wish GW would see things logically like you do.
Corporate greed is the reason for the higher prices. In my area they ask you to round up your purchase price and i always say no.
Let's see what happens when their customers stop shopping there! BOYCOTT !
I never donate that way. Why should you donate via Goodwill, etc and THEY get to take the deduction when they file taxes!
I used to always round up, but not anymore. Not at goodwill.
The cow tealight holder in metals was adorable! I hope it’s there next time you’re in.
@@TheNICHELadytrue GW gets tons of donations that independent shops and resellers do not receive.
Those "colorful" saucers are Harlequin made by Homer Laughlin. Highly collectible. You should have bought those.

Hi Danni , would you look for a unique shell wind chime? Thank you!
I'm very fortunate sounds like.
My goodwill here in Iowa prices everything for us. Great store.
Goodwill would be wise to get input from its customers 😊
All our thrift stores have stickers and written prices. Nobody cares if they destroy items at all😡
I was complaining clear back when the bins increased the prices.
I only donate to Salvation Army..
Yeah, I leave the growing of plants to my husband. Obviously, I definitely don’t have a green thumb 😅
I have really enjoy watching your videos and getting to know your children. I’m wishing Jordan the best wedding and the happiest marriage. Hope Goodwill does loosen up on their prices. I think most of us that shop there are looking to save money.
At are goodwill in Albuquerque NM you don't even get anything off on tags or seniors discounts. How about that. What's up with that?
I know, it's the same in Indiana.....sucks
I painted a few blue geese items way back when. Also cows/pigs I still have the blue goose oven push pull I painted. lol
Love it!

Question are you watering only the ground not the green parts? and only water early morning and after sun goes down?
yes and yes
I find a worker and ask them to find out what the price is for the piece.
Purhapes a road trrip to a new town to get shopping ,, that maybe Lucky for you ,,,, anyway ,,thank you for window shopping with you ,,, take care ,
I'm from Texas and the no tag no sale has been around forever. It seems like you're griping more and more. Still watch though.
Lots of negativity, I noticed it too. I definitely don’t watch to hear that content.
