- Hi Guys another head to head battle between the best brands of bluetooth speakers. Harman Kardon Luna versus JBL Charge 5. Compairing these two, they're almost similar by size and power output. Its very interesting to find out which one sounds better and suits to your taste.

The Luna has better imaging and instrument separation. The highs are also a lot cleaner and more accurate. They aren't too pushed forward like the highs on the JBL. Also, the JBL has deep bass but it's not full it sounds a little held back compared to the Luna
Tried both today. JBL sounds louder, but also ‘cheap’, far away from Hifi. Luna doesn’t sound that loud (not the best choice for open spaces to be honest), but in terms of sound balance and clarity is like day and night. Also tried Bose Soundlink Flex, it sounds better than Charge 5, but lacks the nice bass that Luna offers (at the same size).
The HK to my ears is a richer fuller sound only just,but the charge has better battery and being fully waterproof wins it.

There are different variants of the charge 5 that most consumers should know about. On the bottom of the box that it comes in, there are 2 letters at the beginning of the serial number.
I’ve encountered three of them so far. The ND, which is made in China, & is the original model. The NT, which is also made in China, but came out later. Then there’s the TT model, which is made in Vietnam.
The ND is the most dynamic out of the three, with lower, deeper bass response. The NT doesn’t get quite as loud, & the bass is a bit softer or warmer.
The TT in comparison with the other two doesn’t even come close. It’s much lower in volume & bass. I would not purchase one of these speakers online for this reason.
Do yourself a favor, & go into a retail store and ask the salesperson for one. That way, you can physically lift the box up, & read the first two letters of the serial number.
I ordered my second charge 5 online without knowing this, & ended up getting the TT version. Mind you, I already owned the ND version, so my ears knew what to expect.
I was so let down by the sound, that I sold it for $50.00, & ordered another one, which was made in China. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an ND, but an NT instead.
If you’re not afraid to spend a few more dollars, it really is worth the time, trouble, & money by purchasing it in - store only. I hope this helped everyone else avoid the same mistake that I made.

Are all your speakers of the same colour?
Sometimes the white ones have different letters from the black ones.

I'd like to see how this does against the Minirig3 🤔🙏 Mind you, the long overdue Minirig4 is some 8 weeks away from launch🥳 In this particular "sound off", I prefer the Luna to the JBL ❤
Also, it would be great to see a review/comparison for both the Azatom Soul M1's and the Loewe We.Hear2....These two bluetooth speakers are so lacking any coverage from tech content providers, and not sure why!?!?!?🤔🤔🤔...Kulus, will you accept this mission? 👍🏽😃

Unfortunately for now.. there is none.
i was in between Dali Katch, Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 (2nd), Harman Kardon Luna, JBL Flip 6&Charge5 and Bose SoundLink Flex. After a lot of review and comparison, i bought the Harman Kardon Luna. JBL is so good at sound quality but it looks like teen thing, Charge 5 is really big/heavy to carry, so i eliminate the JBL. BO Beosound A1 made me confused about quality due to i dont think this "Danish" or "Nordic" style products are not value based pricing expect the Dali Katch. Bose SoundLink Flex is also nice but after all i went with Luna. If i was more eager or audiophile, most probably i would take the Dali Katch.
Both 2 sounds superior, they both are tie to me

So, where is the comparison?
Tried both today (at a store). Bose has a really clear sound, nice soundstage too, but it lacks the bass response that Luna offers. If you ask me, only considering loudness, Charge is the choice. But overall, considering clarity, soundstage, sound balance, Luna is the clear winner. (Tried different genres, Latin, RnB, EDM, etc)

I also tried the Bose Soundlink flex and the Harman/Kardon Luna (at home) and decided to buy the Bose Soundlink Flex because it has a great sound ( both sound great) with more bass/punch AND because it is much more versatile, robust and practical.
I think it's also great that you can operate the Bose lying on its back. The surfaces of the Harman/Kardon Luna appear very sensitive to me so I wouldn't use it outside. In my opinion the Luna is a "living room-speaker".
As far as the sound is concerned, you can easily fine-tune both with an equalizer app if you think it's necessary.
I find it great that the Bose tells you the charge level and which device it's connected to when you turn it on.
The only downside to the Bose is that it only has Bluetooth 4.2.
For me the Bose has the far better price-performance ratio.

Both of them have great bass, but the JBL's high notes and spatial are a bit harsh, sounding like a thin sheet of paper vibrating

Louder is not always better! I think on headphones the lunar is clearer and better quality! The JBL is louder though so there it is! Choices people....
Which one produce more Deep Bass?
Sounds nearly the same. But the C5 is slightly better & sounds deepers to me.
How to kno if my jbl is TL or ND?
look at the USB port of powerbank in charge 5, if it says SN:ND then it's nd

Harman is most clearly in sound, the Jbl is more distorted.

JBL sounds too much echoing and broad like from a large hall, i much prefer the sound of the Harmon Kardon and it's a more beautiful looking speaker

Both speakers sounds nice and the bass and vocals were clean.Better than the Sony SRS XE300
For me JBL charge won because has much better highs and Mids and charge is louder as well.

Luna is more versatile, the Charge5 is heavy and large. So I think Luna will be better for EDM
