I have just read in the posts that there is no lock to prevent theft of the Seat/battery post. To me this a simple but fatal flaw in the design of this bike. I would not want to have to carry the 76cm seat post every time i stopped at a shop or parking bar. I would be happy to pay an optional price that included a key lock for the seatpost but would not buy the bike without one.
For the EU we have planned to import the bike as spare parts and let them assemble with a company we are in contact in east Europe to avoid the import issue! Thanks, Ralf

Fiido d2 . Yes it weights 19kg BUT i bought it for 398 dolars . same specs , neraly the same design , quality at high level _i own it and go to work every day for 2 years and is great for 4 times less....
250w motor , 7,8ah battery * nearly double of the size and has opcional 10ah battery.And the greatest feature is the pure electric mode which it has, also asist mode and pure bike mode which is not recomended because i have chosen a 1 gear only but there is opcion to buy with multiple gears selector.
I have owned a couple of non folding e bikes. So a couple of questions. The way the frame hinges is the same but the clamp looks unusual. How robust is that? (Perhaps a more detailed video) The handlebar post hinges the same as my other bikes. However my bike had a clamp that was very secure. Your bike has a screw on clamp. Can this work loose when in use, fall out or even be stolen if left unattended? And finally the battery. I noticed you unscrew something under the bike to remove the seat post to charge the battery off of the bike. Can this come loose and fall out when bike is in use?

Can the bike accommodate a bigger chain ring than the one mounted at delivery? If yes what is the largest chain ring the the bike will accommodate without compromising the folded package?
Wonder why you would do that?. The bike is equiped with a torgue sensor. My guess is that this sensor is chosen to the speed ratio 1:4. Second thing is you put more torque on the chain, ball bearings in the crank axel and you probably drain out the battery faster as most energy is consumed to get from 0 km/h upto speed. If you have a reuglar electrical bike with multiple shifts they advise therefor to take off in a low speed. Hope that makes sense.
@@mebeingme947 in the presentation video the bike is spinning out before it reaches 25 km/h. I would like to avoid spinning out like in the presentation video that is why I would want a larger chain ring now the bike I only equipped with a single speed gearing option.

As soon you're getting close to the setpoint of 25 km/h it decreases the amount of power delivered to the motor and the motor stops fully at that speed. How fast it is doing is determined by chosen assist level. But anyway maybe someone from UCB can respond to that better than I do :-)

That's a good question because I have the same feeling that the 1:4 ratio is too low (like the other single speed electric folding bikes I tested). So I would also appreciate an answer from UCB or better a detailed driving video which shows riding the bike at 25km/h. Thanks!
Does it have mounting points for a front or rear rack? I'd assume not for a back since that would impact folding, but it looks like you could have a front rack/basket without interfering with the fold.

How do you prevent people from stealing the seatpost? There's no security there for it and you just lost your seatpost, battery, and 300 bucks for a new one
You can either just remove it and take it inside with you and lock the bike outside or just take THE ONE inside with you (it's only 25 x 64 x 76,5 cm when folded).

What about shipping taxes (VAT) for EU countries? That would increase the price drastically.

What is the difference of us, UK and Japan version for the $999 bike?
Hi Liam, the U.S. version is equipped with a Power Assist System (PAS) and a thumb throttle for straight electronic mode (max. speed of 32 km/h or 19.9 mph). The EU version comes with a pedal assisted mode (max. speed of 25 km/h or 15.5 mph) and a thumb throttle for a max. speed of 6 km/h 3.7 mph to comply with European safety legislation. Japan supports only up to 24km / h and has special regulations for engine assistance.
United City Bikes if you have to choose which 3 is the best? I was thinking of US and UK version.
The US version is pretty fun, but please make it's legal t drive it on public streets in your country.
