Cold starting a new MMO and going with a serious off--meta combo and using your own brain to put together a viable build that could be in-meta is quite respectable sir. Great work!
Thank you 10 videos in and ypu are the first person to actualy show a paladin build. So may udiots have sns and wand builds tagged as pal its exhausting.
Great build! I'm only Lvl 39 right now but I'm using almost all the same spec's and it's working great so far. Dimensional and Abyssal dungeons will always be impossible going solo but I get pretty far and pick up some good blue drops. Not uber or epic but stuff I can still use so I'm happy so far.
Would like to see your other 2 builds you mentioned and a pvp version as well. I been keen on making a big greatsword user with like dark magic (curses) but noone makes guides on it cause its "not meta"
It's weird i saw in some site the term (off-meta) but when im on conflicts and i saw 1 guy using that weapon combination once and was holding back 7 PEOPLE with Guillotine fireballs etc. That mf didn't die easily, he killed 4 of them before dieing😂. From that moment im looking a very good and solid pvp build like his, no luck around. Op build is very good for pve
I did sth similar and many of my guild mates are saying I've got wrong build :D Nobody in my guild is playing GS/Wand but I like it the most somehow ;)
Let's go fellow off meta gang! I am currently playing GS/Staff and having a blast with it (the damage is just crazy, sometimes it would pull aggro from tank if either me or the tank is not careful, or whenever the tank is dead I automatically become the tank even without taking any aggro specialization 😅). I came across this video and I really like your Paladin build, really makes me want to come back on being a Paladin (I was always Paladin in WoW (ret-pally) and FFXIV). A question, how much is your Heavy attack chance (after summing them with abilities if possible)? Seems like you proc'd heavy attack a lot.
@@kurisu1204 I am not really into PVP, my build is 100% focused on PVE so can't really say much. But I think for PVP GS+Staff would also be good, indeed due to the skills that lets you jump around. The CCs are also really good: stun, prone, slow, freeze.
I thought about pinning a comment about this, but it depends on your buff duration. You have to see when your Fighting Spirit Barrier buff is disappearing. If you don't have much buff duration, it'll often expire during the Corrupted Magic Circle cast, which in that case the best time to use Cruel Smite would be right before the first Touch of Despair, so you can get a little more bang for your buck with Fighting Spirit Barrier. Very min-max but it is a little more damage. If you have a lot of buff duration, I think you are better off skipping Cruel Smite and having the bonus damage from Fighting Spirit Barrier apply to Corrupted Magic Circle and eventually Curse Explosion. In that case I'll just use it at the end of the rotation.
If you don't PvP, I think this class is for sure viable right now. Maybe it'll be harder later, but in dungeons with a more healing focused build, you're providing so many damage buffs, damage mitigation and healing, along with 1-2 stuns. It can be incredibly good in the right party. You have to play it a bit smarter, track your tank's DaVinci's spell so you don't overlap etc, but still really good as a healer. Irregardless, play with you find fun man. Unless you're trying to reach some sort of rank - just have fun with it. The current content is easy.
@@sperrex465 Why? They heal just fine and bring more damage than most other healers. Unless your team is just screwing up a lot and taking a ton of avoidable damage, Paladin is almost optimal.
I went with this build but there’s literally no guides on it I’m thinking about changing it because idk if it’ll be good at endgame I’m using the gs for my main dps and the wand for debuffs you’ll think they’ll be in the meta
Greatsword/Wand is definitely not a meta combo, but I think there are setups that make can make it quite strong atleast for PVE. I'll try to figure out something for PVP once I start playing it. I'd understand not wanting to build one though especially if you're f2p, but I'm personally really enjoying it.
Gs/wand is a jack of all trades and is not str in just one thing it’s probably the toughest healer could be best aoe over time it is the stupidest at buffing and single target & as for PvP if you take damage and aren’t regenerating it right back your not playing it right it’s the hybrid build that requires only one stat strength and nothing more than cooldown and attack speed as traits
@@Ihateronnie2k if you get any other stats Perception /str gear is some of the best I didn’t like dex or how much wisdom I needed for cooldowns and atk speed I found some rings and necklace with atk& cooldowns my son has his pald built for mana regeneration I built for mixed support and damage reduction it’s great for pve and the Gs pairs well with most other weapons some SnS /bow / staff I have not tried crossbow or daggers but Ive had a few join in coop dungeons and they seem like glass cannon dps I hope this helps your build I would love to see some better insight into the Gs/wand build as im still trying to figure how to really make it work better or what would be the best pald build i would love to see more videos 👍👍👍
@@OpenhandMM I stuck with it I’m having a blast do you mind looking at my setup I’m just now hitting level 50 and have a tune of things to do but I made it to level 50 with ease
Thought about this as a side project coz i hate tanking but i do like healing myself when solo farming. I main gs/dag and slowly levelling this since i got the wand from CoD. Also heavy attack chance applies to heals as well so critting thay chunky would be nice but yeah in pvp i think this build would be just a less durable sns/wand
16:18 Same Brother Thats why i went for Paladin Thx im 2.3k and only went for max single DMG Def will try your aoe I think If you could fit in da Vinci 15% faster casts you can burst more Maybe less sustain (and buffs your Team) Is the third heal Thing rly good? I feel Like you could Put it in your Frost aoe for more ATK speed😅
I use the same rotation for bosses. As for pvp I haven't done any yet but it would surely need a few tweaks. I will make a pvp build eventually but I'm focused on gearing at the moment.
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering if you've done much co-op/open dungeons with this build and do people look badly at it? Sometimes i run gs/sns DPS and at times i wonder if groups look baqdly at that build too, but i like being a backup when tank doesnt know mechs lol. With gs/wand, it would be dps and offheals in dungeons.
ofc, gotta do dungeons/open dungeons to get gear and things to sell for lucent. I think people might initially just because it's GS/Wand, but once u start blowing stuff up it's all good.
Dead group does no dps. The GS + wand does good DPS when most points are dumped into GS. For pug runs I may run a couple more heals/group defensive. Multiple runs where the healer flops Dead and GS/Wand kept everyone up while still putting down DPS. Not to mention the multiple hard cc's.
I just stack mana regeneration where I can find it. I haven't really had mana problems with this build. The only time mana has become an issue is if I'm spamming Swift Healing a whole lot, which happens sometimes but not too often. I think I had about 550-600 mana regeneration in this video, so if you have something around that you should be in pretty good shape.
i played a lot of hours with GS / Wand in the first 3 weeks, it's a rly cool combo (as melee Healer). if you wanna play serious mass pvp with top rank guild, its not rly viable.
For me this weap combo doesn’t feel great because both GS and wand have long cds, I feel like you’d have to stack Wis for cd reduction as well as gear for it for the build overall to feel decent imo, ofc end of the day it’s about what’s fun to the player 😊
There are quite a few ways to increase the cooldowns, I think there is a passive as well for Wand that does this, and honestly, with the setup Im running, I really don't have much issue with running out of abilities to use.
Put some recent gameplay in the description for those interested.
I think this guy deserve more subs. Being new he went for a completely off meta weapon which take balls to pull off.
I play xbow great sword and you right 😂😂
Same build I'm using love it
It doesn't take balls...it actually doesn't take anything. It's a game.
@Hingle_McCringle in this day and age everyone only runs meta builds it's so boring
Cold starting a new MMO and going with a serious off--meta combo and using your own brain to put together a viable build that could be in-meta is quite respectable sir. Great work!
Nice to see another Paladin player. I tend to go more GS core skills and only take the buff skills from Wand though.

Show the builds bro! And when you get into pvp show us what you are working with! Subbed and keep up the vids and have fun
I think everybody should start with skill specialations. As the icons will change for your other skills. This will help out a lot

I really like this build and am gonna try it out tonight! What kind of end game gear are you chasing for it? Thanks for the great video!
Would you be able to add the rotation as text in your description please? I've tried to stop the video frame-by-frame but it seems impossible. TY!
Going to give this a try
How early can we get the AOE rocking?
Do you have a written guide for armor??
I did sth similar and many of my guild mates are saying I've got wrong build :D Nobody in my guild is playing GS/Wand but I like it the most somehow ;)
Update on this build?
how did you do ctrl+1 for your skills?
I didnt know Curse Explosion could hit multiple targets. I've always thought it hits one. Gonna need to test it out.
nvm. I got so used to the talent which makes Curse Explosion a single target spell that i forgot it was actually a targetable aoe spell.

I’m open minded to most builds but I would reject a greatsword wand 99% of the time in any dungeon
Hardest part is finding a dungeon cause nobody wants you

What's the equipment skills on the left above guardian skills?
It's unique skills that I get from my weapons. If you go to the part where I mouse over them, you can see what they do.
