    That's pretty clever... I never would have thought of using a bug zapper as a capacitive discharge driver. I'll have to try it sometime. I made a simple ignition coil driver that creates a continuous arc, and makes paper and wood burst into flames. My coil has an open magnetic citcuit but I think it would work on your coil if you wound the "feedback winding" around the exposed part of the core.

      I'll definitely wind a feedback while using the same power source for making a model of the traditional spark gap Tesla coil 🙂

      I don't know if any of these devices are strong enough to feed a tesla coul, but it couldn't hurt to try it.

      @@deltab9768 ya if the spark break rate is higher then it'll work pretty good but we've to make sure that the spark gap is short in order to higher the break rate of it that induces much higher pulsating dc voltage accross the primary coil of the Tesla coil ... I thought of making a bifilar pancake Tesla coil but don't have proper designs ...

      I'll make my own microphone soon ...

    Then what is the transistor for? Isn't that part of a driver circuit?

    • @o.c.d8883
      @o.c.d8883  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obviously it is... I just meant you don't actually have to make any separate circuit this is simplest I think I got...

      Actually what I meant was without going into any complications of 555 timers or relays this is the easiest way I've ever found that's readily available at home !!
