Give a thumbs up if you're a wee bit jealous right now 😏 ALSO. The PUSH UP CHALLENGE. I forgot to address it in this video but I wanted to give an update as for the last two years I have participated in the pushup challenge in June (over 3000 pushups in 24 days) and this community has helped me raise over $20,000 to go towards suicide prevention. To be completely honest I have been wary about re-entering the challenge this year as last year I sustained an elbow injury that took months to heal and I am worries I will cause it to flare up again once I start banging out thousands of push ups again. BUT. I still am tempted to do it as it's for such a good cause. Who would be interested in joining the team again this year or supporting the cause if I was to sign up again? Make sure you follow me on Instagram @max.bisdtrup for updates on whether it goes ahead! 💛
Why don't you enter as a "max and occi community challenge?" instead of you doing all the pushups alone, see if the community helps out and everyone doing a little bit.
What a brilliant idea and smashing job on the bath! You have the perfect spot for porch bathing and your vision is gorgeous. Clean but rustic beauty for warm relaxing or nice cooling bath. Summer and winter use will be delightful. Another great project Max! Hugs, Jules
Are you freaking kidding me??!! You are creating the most beautiful paradise resort as a way of life!! I couldn’t be happier for you or more jealous! Please, even when the projects are done (ha ha), don’t stop taking us along! Your lifestyle is a dream, your vision is stupendous and your kindness makes it all the better. Please give Occy a huge hug and smooch for me.
Hi Max & Occy. I LOVE how the deck looks, and the outdoor bathroom looks gorgeous ❤ On the overabundance of oranges, you can segment them and freeze them (peel them first) and you can use them (slightly thawed) in fruit salad or with yoghurt. Also, dry the peel (in the oven or just on a sunny window sill) and use them as fire starters or toss a few in a fire pot for a lovely scent! You can also use fresh orange peels and vinegar to clean! Put the peels and vinegar into a spay bottle and let infuse for a day or 2 and voila! An environmentally friendly and great smelling cleaner. Another thing you can do is find out if there is a community house or Foodbank near you and donate some oranges and bananas for people in need. Fresh food is always appreciated. 🌻
haha or give them to a frugivore who solely lives on fruits straight of these divine trees hehe 😉just with these two trees alone id be in heaven xx bless you Max n Occy x
Beautiful job, Max. The bath set up is divine. For your excess fruit, invest in one or two good dehydrators. Store everything in glass jars. Good for energy snacks, wet season supplies, and home dried tea.
For glass jars, I found preserving jars were the best value and sturdy for knocks and drops. They come in all different sizes and can easily be used for food. I also purchased (around $20 - $30) a small vacuum cap which fits over the jar top and takes the air out if you are using the jars to keep food fresher and bug proof. Also they look good on shelf display with flour, pasta, beans, etc. of various colours and sizes.
The Epic Family Road Trip channel has a couple of recent videos regarding freeze drying and packaging that might prove useful. They are up in Canada, but living totally off-grid so there are similarities.
In addition to the great suggestions below, you can also can your extra fruit juice. Not as good as fresh but will last. Also, stuff some big glass jars with your orange peels and fill with white vinager. Leave two weeks and you have a natural orange cleaner. Love your videos Max.
I'm in love with the deck! You did such a great job on it. I got so much inspiration for the tiny one I need to build. I think for Occy's "100th", a party with all of his favorite people and pets, and maybe his namesake too, on his favorite beach of course. I'm glad you're well again!

Max you are so inspiring! Love the soaking tub. I'm sitting here on a rainy day in Chicago watching you bring your vision to life. And Occy is always a joy. He looks great!
The minute you started painting the railing I thought “oh, that looks amazing!” The deck is just beautiful. So happy you’re feeling better Max. ❤please give Occy a pat and a hug. 🤗
Perfect, Max! You keep making heaven a little more beautiful every day. I'll paraphrase Carl Jung here: There's nothing nature loves more than genuine collaboration with human creativity. Of course she has to rough you up from time to time on your way there! But you're making it happen! Enjoy your little tub with the grand view the the inobtrusive dark railing--excellent choices! I don't know what your floorplan will allow, but I'd love to see French doors opening up the inside bathroom to your deck tub. That way you can come straight out with your towel and toiletries and not have to go through the living room. Or maybe just a bar window ledge where you can leave the window open and pass the bath paraphernalia back and forth. Nah, the doors would be better.
@@MaxandOccy that's a paraphrase of Carl Jung--not a quote, so don't quote me! I loved it too when I heard it 30 years ago or so. I can't remember where it was written, but I've always found the thought very uplifting and heartening myself.

Just to be perfectly blunt about it. lol I'm amazed you were able to do anything while sick, me I go to bed and sleep. Glad you're feeling better. Hugs to Occy and thanks for the g rating. 😊😊😊
Paint the porch ceiling sky blue. Birds and wasps won't want to nest under it because they think it's open sky. Keep up the good work! Give Occy a belly rub for me!
This is just simply not true. Wasps can see a wide variety of colours and yellow, blue and orange can actually attract them instead of repelling them. This whole "blue makes it look like the sky" thing has zero evidence behind it. Way back in the day, blue paint used to be made with lye and this naturally repelled many insects (not just wasps), but it's no longer made this way.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the new deck with tub! The ceiling works great all white and good call on the color for the railings. Now you have another "room" to chillax! Its all amazing! You work so hard! And its worth it!

Hey Max, I'm a chippy here and i'm quite impressed with your workmanship. The monument was a great idea, such a nice contrast. I have one idea for you though that i think might top the outdoor bath off even more.. If you're council allows it, get rid of that balustrade at the end of the bath and move that bush over half a meter and you'll have an uninterrupted view of that beautiful veggie garden and the valley. If its a fall risk maybe just put a step in there to get past regulations. Love you're work!! Keen to see the rest of the renos. YEW!!

Absolutely amazing job, Max! What a stunning and peaceful spot for the bath. Enjoy every minute. Occy, you are still a legend handsome man! Wishing everyone good mental health this week. 😊
Had to laugh at the nature's head toilet in the background when you were talking at the end. Now that's taking the outside bathroom next level🤣 The bath is divine though. You will certainly appreciate that at the end of long hard work days. Such a brilliant view!
Damn!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 completely jealous!!!!! Love the bathroom with outdoor dunny. You should put a side table near it for papers book coffee etc....the THRONE 🤣🤣🤣
I know I'm late to the party, and I'm certain you won't want to repaint the ceiling on the porch, but I wanted to mention that in the Southern U.S. porch ceilings are painted a color called "haint blue" (sky blue) because it keeps "haints"...or evil spirits from entering the home. A fitted topper for the tub would be cool as a way to keep out dirt and provide a table top when entertaining.
Yes use PPE- note though- before we got PPE wild painters used to use a layer of thin Vaseline on any skin exposed. When showering after the day of spraying it was a protective covering of the skin and kept paint from going into skin- it washes away very easily!
Love how your deck turned out. The soaking tub area is wonderful! Occy enjoying the leaf blower was so fun to watch; he is really looking good for his age. Can’t wait to see his 100th celebration.
Sanding and finishing hardwoods has been one of my favorite home renovation projects. It is so satisfying. Your deck came out absolutely beautiful. Well done.
A tip instead of wearing gloves is remembering to use a product such as Faulding's Barrier Cream on your hands prior to starting working. Makes clean up afterwards much easier.
hey ong! for the planters id go to a recycling center and collect a ton of plastic bottles and use that to fill out the bottom and it will be amazing drainage! you can also put a bunch of compost in etx and just put some cardboard on top before you lay the soil. also, don’t worry about the pavers! you can grow moss on them like is on the stairs and it will make it even more magical!
I really enjoyed watching you turn your dreary porch into a great outdoor area for R&R. What a great idea to have an outdoor bathroom facility. Your hard work has most certainly returned a significant reward to you.
That's an amazing project you've realized! Enjoy it to the fullest! And a Huuuuuge Hug to Occy! Such w baby! No way he will shortly be "100yrs old" in our years. You two have all the best in life! Totally deserved!

Loved seeing Occy and the leaf blower, made my heart swell❤❤ great job Max! Glad your feeling better🙏 love and hugs from Otis and me, Massachusetts USA
Excellent. A soaking tub is a good thing. In the South of the US, you’ll find lots of porches with the ceilings painted “Haint Blue.” I just love them. They say a number of things about the color: it ‘Haint blue and it ‘Haint green. It keeps wasps and bugs from building nests because they think it’s the sky. And the best: “The term “haint” was originally a variation of the word “haunt.” Haints are lost souls or the dead's restless spirits. According to the Southern belief, blue paint applied to the porch ceiling as well as door and window trim can keep haints away.” I’m in the Pacific Northwest, and we don’t have a porch roof, but if I did….I’d go with Haint Blue. 🤣 (It’s also very soothing like a sky ceiling and somehow goes great with any house color.) 🤎
The contrast of the black and white looks so good and the floor is really, really nice. You may want to put some sort of mat to step on when you get out so all your bonus water doesn't wind up on your beautiful boards. The stone mats that absorb the water would look really great and you could just take it in when you're not bathing. Occy is such a good dog and was definitely on board with this project! Happy soaking!!
Occy is looking at you like.....is it my turn yet dad?! 🐾❤️ The space is absolutely gorgeous. You always do a great job Max! Sorry you got sick. I am pushing on through this sick myself. Love all the fruit you have at your disposal. Such healthy ideas are infinite! Definitely looking forward to seeing what healthy fun you are going to make! Definitely smoothies, fozen snacks, as well as, dehydrated snacks for on the go. The possibilities are endless. You can even make orange chicken. Also in the heat Occy can have frozen fruit snacks. Glad to see Occy having a time of it. I could watch him all day🫶 Cheers! Can't wait for the next vids. Bless you and Occy! Love to hear your mental health is going great too. We sometimes take that for granted.
Also, you can blend those frozen bananes and make à frozen banane ice cream. You dont need to add any cream or sugar, just blend and keep in freezer. Absolutely delish, can add some choc chips or peanuts or peanut butter to make it next level.
It looks amazing! All you need to do on that porch now is get rid of the toilet (seriously) and add a couple of rocking chairs and small table in between them to rest a coffee and a candle. Oh and some hanging baskets for flowers. Love it!

Haha right! More work incoming. But how damn good is it gonna look
@@MaxandOccy 5 star good! Love your work. Love your personality. Thanks for being such an inspiration to us all. You are a true champion!
Bravo max, excellebt patio and tub, bloody cheers! There is nothing better than an enticing beverage in sultry waters to end or start the day!
Beautiful…if you painted the door and beams that dark grey, it would really tie it all together.
I was thinking the same!
👍🏼 Amazing job. I would love to have that I’m soooooo jealous! Enjoy it as much as you can. ❤
A newly painted front door would be the finishing touches to your new deck area.
Well done.
Your door frames and windows would look great painted the same colour as the railings!!!!!!!!! Maybe paint the house sage green!!!👍🙂🙂🙂🙂
A tip instead of wearing gloves is remembering to use a product such as Faulding's Barrier Cream on your hands prior to starting working. Makes clean up afterwards much easier.
That tub is an ideal place to wash Occy as well. The deck looks beautiful. Nice work.
This outdoor room is a work of art well done
Perfection at it's finest. Thank you so much for sharing.😀😃
hey ong!
for the planters id go to a recycling center and collect a ton of plastic bottles and use that to fill out the bottom and it will be amazing drainage! you can also put a bunch of compost in etx and just put some cardboard on top before you lay the soil.
also, don’t worry about the pavers! you can grow moss on them like is on the stairs and it will make it even more magical!
Awesome work! Quick tip: always let the cut side of the wood drop, aka hold/support the long end and let the small end fall!
I really enjoyed watching you turn your dreary porch into a great outdoor area for R&R. What a great idea to have an outdoor bathroom facility. Your hard work has most certainly returned a significant reward to you.
It is a big luxury to have a bath outside on the porch. Staring at the stars at night while soaking in it, ahh 🥺💞 great job max 👏
That's an amazing project you've realized! Enjoy it to the fullest!
And a Huuuuuge Hug to Occy! Such w baby! No way he will shortly be "100yrs old" in our years. You two have all the best in life! Totally deserved!
Looking totally ACE, admire your workmanship a lot and VERY envious of your home and rain forest.
Great bath. What a fantastic view of the landscape. So relaxing. It has to be a joy living on that property.
Max n Occy, love the cabin, you have worked hard to rebuild it. Occy and the leaf blower classic, my short haired pooch also loves the leaf blower. Lv from NZ
Loved seeing Occy and the leaf blower, made my heart swell❤❤ great job Max! Glad your feeling better🙏 love and hugs from Otis and me, Massachusetts USA
Looks great Max! You should paint the doors the same color as the railing! would look sharp and fresh.
According to the Southern belief, blue paint applied to the porch ceiling as well as door and window trim can keep haints away.”
I’m in the Pacific Northwest, and we don’t have a porch roof, but if I did….I’d go with Haint Blue.
You've done a great job on your beautiful new deck, Max! It all looks fantastic! Love & hugs for Occy❣
The deck bath looks beautiful! I’d paint the doors the same paint you did the railings. 🥰
Beautifully charming Max! Occy has certainly been enjoying his days.
Looooove this so much, I feel a bunch pretty fairy lights are missing- hugs to Occy ❤
Bravo on the bathtub and the entire porch project - so well done. 👍🏼
The deck looks awesome!!! I love it. And Occy looks so cute flopping on the deck!❤❤
It looks amazing! All you need to do on that porch now is get rid of the toilet (seriously) and add a couple of rocking chairs and small table in between them to rest a coffee and a candle. Oh and some hanging baskets for flowers. Love it!
It looks fantastic, Max. I so admire your creativity and your determination. Love and biscuits to Occy!
I love the bath addition!!! It’s beautiful!!! Great work!!!!
