Great video series! Was your truck trying to call OnStar non stop prior to having that SRS module reflashed? Mine is (I don't have the onstar subscription so it doesn't actually make the call). I am wondering if reflashing that SRS module with Safety restore will stop that. Also, did you mail the complete seatbelt assymbly to safety restore? As in the strap that goes across you and the buckle it clips into? Thanks!
The service shop at the Chevy dealer said airbags won’t go off unless the sensor is triggered by an impact crash. He said it was impossible for them to pop out unless the sensor is hit with a certain amount of force. I’m confused now. Or are they telling me this so I’m forced to bring it in and have them do it because this seems like a straight repair anyone can do vs $1,800 is what they asked for. Ya… no way.
It definitely does take force in order for the airbags to go off when it hits the sensors. But if you're messing with wiring under the - for under the hood, it's always best. Disconnect the battery if you have any issue with your wiring or while you're disconnecting it, it could cause the airbags to deploy.
I have the same truck mine is a 2007 model four-door LTZ and my airbag module was underneath the seat my rollover sensor is underneath the Center column in the place of your airbag module
10:31 Where can I find a ‘99-‘06 Chevy Silverado suburban full center console replacement part? I’ve checked around and it is only the top door that I find, if that. Resources: icarparts, automotix, 1A Auto, Carparts, ebay motors, CarID, RockAuto, AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts, Amazon, CarGurus, Craig’s List.
Best video out there on the "Right" way to remove the center console - I had to replace subwoofer - thanks!!

Disconnect battery and stand on brake for 30 seconds to deplete any remaining voltage in modules. No need to wait 10 minutes
Is this covered under the GM Airbag Recall?
After you get everything back and put in any additional steps or no?
All the lights go away without further programming?
There shouldn't be as long as you don't have a broken sensor.
After putting the new air bag and the belts, how is the module programmed?
Thanks for the video, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Curious if you have to replace the crash sensor on the core support after an accident?
No I did not need too as long as it's not damaged.
Good information ... thanks a bunch
My pleasure thanks
