Just came back to this vid after 6-7 years it created alot of my memories and fantasies when I was younger. Me and my buddies would try to find shark tooth at the beach and in mud. Finding this vid brings alot of nostalgia thanks
Damn..... That Meg tooth !!! Excellent find! This Looks like so much fun I wish I was able to do this in my area! Could literally spend countless hours searching for shark teeth!
i've heard of other people hunting at topsail island and they said they had good luck there too. venice beach in FL is awesome! we live in Summerville SC. No beaches, but lots of teeth if you know where to look.
For some reason I always want to slap people when they find amazing, huge teeth that are nearly intact, but have a bit of root damage, and they get disappointed. I mean, any tooth would make me pass out if I found it, root damge or not.
Unfortunately, we haven't been in the Edisto yet this year. It has been above flood stage for a while and the Dorchester County authorities have advised people to stay out of the river until the flood waters recede. I have been diving at half its current levels and been tumbled across the bottom like a twig while I was wearing 40 pounds of lead and holding onto an anchor line with 2 anchors. The current in that river is no joke!
Hi! The teeth ya'll are finding are amazing! My husband and I love to look for shark teeth. We are planning a trip to Summerville SC next month for our 2 year anniversary. What are the best creeks in Summerville to start our hunt?
start by going to beaches where you know it is possible to find teeth. google beach names and shark teeth to see if people are talking about finding teeth at those beaches. then, go at the right times. after storms is usually good. low tide is usually good. early morning when nobody has collected yet is also good. Concentrate on looking for dark (black, brown) colors and triangles. You'll get the hang of it.
its pretty full right now because summerville just got drenched for the last hour. It usually takes a day or two to go down and clear up if we don't have a lot of rain.
Hello, Do you by chance give short artifact finding tours. I know you can't open the door too wide as hoards would follow but there are some of us who would pay for your time I'm sure. My son and I hunt teeth around Jacksonville Beach and although it's not the mecca it is still fun. We would like to venture up to the SC area some weekend. Thanks, DJ
Hi DJ, Sorry, I don't lead any tours. I'm just a regular guy who likes hunting fossils. i thought about it before, but the biggest problem is the inconsistency. hunting is only good when conditions are right, and they aren't right often so scheduling tours where people would actually find things is next to impossible. Plus I work a lot so that makes it even tougher. I promise if I ever do offer any kind of excursion I'll put it on my channel. Thanks for watching. Kim
blackriverfossils Love your video. I would love to go on a hunting expedition for fossils. My dad taught me how to find sharks teeth at Topsail Beach when I was about 9 years old. That's been longer ago than I care to say. LOL Do you have any idea where I could possibly go on a hunt in NC? Thanks for any ideas. :D
JD D you can try greensmill run, which is a creek that runs though the middle of Greenville. Its a sifting spot and sometimes the water is waist deep. a lot of people park and access it at elm st park but there are other places to go in too. good luck!
Wow. It has also been raining up here in NC for quite a while and I was only able to get one hunt in the past few weeks. The rain this summer is a killer! Hopefully the water will recede quickly enough before it gets too cold. lol. Good luck with the hunt and keep safe!
That depends on how deep the fossil formations are in Kings Lynn. If they are shallow and can possibly be eroded by flowing water, then you should most definitely look there!
hey man do you know if the creek behind the y is low yet im in beaufort and cant drive there to check it just wondering if you ever go by it to look thanks alot man.or if you have any other creeks we went to the place by the highway you said and found like 4 id like to stay in the creeks so let me know lol. thanks man my son cant wait to get out there we are trying to go saturday
Since i live in NC, i find teeth at Topsail Island. Most of them are very small, but occasionally you will find ones that are 2 inches or more. I was actually there a week ago, and I found hundreds. But it's not as good as Venice beach or where you guys live.
So do you just happen to see the teeth when walking down the creek or are you looking pretty hard? My husband an I are thinking about trying to find a creek in NC to look for some teeth but we're still new at this! The biggest ones we found were on camp Lejeune in the surf but it was still exciting!!!
This is so fascinating. I have a question which struck me. How many thousands if not millions of years ago would that area you found those shark teeth in have been under the sea, In your estimation?
Mark Twain Lake has tons and tons of fossils but no shark teeth, there is coral and lots of other little bug looking things there is also arrowheads and other native american tools sorry if it is too far away it was just something i remember finding as a kid.
Turab Rizvi hey man, i'm not sure about by the beach in NJ, but I know people have found them at a place called Raminessen. I've also heard of it called Big Brook. I wish I could give you more info but thats all I know. Best of luck to you!
potentially yes. rivers erode fossils from where they were deposited. even far inland you can find fossils - for example, the mastodon from Michigan that has been in the news recently.
i don't sell but there are a lot of choices on ebay. you can also buy from a dealer. my friend runs the site lowcountry geologic and he has some good ones.
Also I live in florida close to springs are there teeth in every spring I have been to them many times never noticed any shark teeth wasn't looking for them at the time though was unaware of them bieng around
Thank you for the upload!! Sweet finds! I know it has been raining a lot recently, but have you guys gotten into the Ediso this summer yet? Good luck hunting!
man,i feel so jealous of yah guys,i would love to do this for my free time,i am very fascinated of the prehistoric megalodon shark, ever since I discovered this beast on the discovery channel yrs ago,i couldn't believe such an animal exhisted,i live in Michigan, and it sucks man...if I lived down soth i'd be searching for megs and shark teeth daily,it would be an awesome adventure
5:49 - I can't really believe a tooth from millions of years ago is just lying right there in the twigs. And it looks split and glued. Sure wish I could believe it though!
fossils like that can be found all over the eastern US if you know where to look. coincidentally, the tooth broke in half in my hand after I stopped recording so later I did glue it back together.
That is well. I only asked because in my collection I don't have a fossil shark tooth and there is not much chance of going out and finding one here in Michigan. But you never know I have found some pretty amazing things. Stay well and enjoy the hunt!!!!!
Just came back to this vid after 6-7 years it created alot of my memories and fantasies when I was younger. Me and my buddies would try to find shark tooth at the beach and in mud. Finding this vid brings alot of nostalgia thanks
welcome back! thanks for watching
keep hunting and posting your finds. thanks for sharing!
Crazy... the eyes you guys have for these items is awesome
That's so cool I wish I had a river that had all sorts of fossils.
Damn..... That Meg tooth !!! Excellent find! This Looks like so much fun I wish I was able to do this in my area! Could literally spend countless hours searching for shark teeth!
I went crazy over that giant tooth in the pit. Very nice finds.
i've heard of other people hunting at topsail island and they said they had good luck there too. venice beach in FL is awesome! we live in Summerville SC. No beaches, but lots of teeth if you know where to look.
Love the POV aspect and your commentary.
Good technique with the clear plastic bowl to see on the bottom of shallow water. Ill be trying that myself this summer.
Nice finds! Keep sharing, thanks
For some reason I always want to slap people when they find amazing, huge teeth that are nearly intact, but have a bit of root damage, and they get disappointed. I mean, any tooth would make me pass out if I found it, root damge or not.
Great finds!

Awesome hunt. Rock on!
You two are the best

Always, always amazes m'friend, what a great location and passion you and your son have. Congrats on the continued finds!
I like your findings
That angi is stunning.
Awesome! There's apparently a site near me in NM with phytosaur teeth, but we haven't located it yet.
start by going to beaches where you know it is possible to find teeth. google beach names and shark teeth to see if people are talking about finding teeth at those beaches. then, go at the right times. after storms is usually good. low tide is usually good. early morning when nobody has collected yet is also good. I would be happy to find even just 1 shark tooth even if it was broken - you guys are so lucky!!!
+SunnySNSD//SUNSHINER Hi, if you come to America, I will help you find some shark teeth, if you need help :) Florida is a good place to look.
have you gone to the spoil piles outside the aurora fossil museum? you can find a lot of teeth there.
I love your videos good job
The first fossil that I find will be a keeper!! I'm going treasure it.
nice,i cant wait to find my self a perfectly good meg tooth. That is on my bucket list
its pretty full right now because summerville just got drenched for the last hour. It usually takes a day or two to go down and clear up if we don't have a lot of rain.
You guyz have GOOOOOD EYES!!!!!
Finding fossils priceless!!!!
Love your channel!!
Enjoy the videos as always...you guys ever find stone artifacts walking all those creeks?
Hello, Do you by chance give short artifact finding tours. I know you can't open the door too wide as hoards would follow but there are some of us who would pay for your time I'm sure. I love regular show!!!
That horse tooth is cool
Its possible. I would check with a local museum or university to see what kinds of fossils are found in your area.
That depends on how deep the fossil formations are in Kings Lynn. If they are shallow and can possibly be eroded by flowing water, then you should most definitely look there!

Wow! Where are you located? So Amy teeth!
Since i live in NC, i find teeth at Topsail Island. Most of them are very small, but occasionally you will find ones that are 2 inches or more. I was actually there a week ago, and I found hundreds. But it's not as good as Venice beach or where you guys live.
Do you keep everything you find?
That's huge!
I wanna take the hike down there from Connecticut with the kids, where can I find a good place for hunting?
You guys have a good eye for this. How long have you two been doing this for?
we have both been looking our whole lives.
What do you do with them?
Cool vid nice man
whats the device you use to view under water?
I love these videos so much! Keep it up
Where can I find those streams at. Plublic or private ill go
What state are you in and where do you go to find shark teeth.
i dont understand where do go to find teeth in shallow ground?
What river/creek do you mostly fossil hunt in all your videow
So do you just happen to see the teeth when walking down the creek or are you looking pretty hard? My husband an I are thinking about trying to find a creek in NC to look for some teeth but we're still new at this! The biggest ones we found were on camp Lejeune in the surf but it was still exciting!!!
I'm moving slowly and looking carefully. Its not common for me to see teeth completely exposed. Usually only a little piece is showing.
Very cool ,
I love sharks 😍😍
This is so fascinating. I have a question which struck me. How many thousands if not millions of years ago would that area you found those shark teeth in have been under the sea, In your estimation?
Hi, I'm new to collecting fossils and want to get started off. Could you recommend any fossil hunting sites near schaumburg illinois
Mark Twain Lake has tons and tons of fossils but no shark teeth, there is coral and lots of other little bug looking things there is also arrowheads and other native american tools sorry if it is too far away it was just something i remember finding as a kid.
Amazing finds, wish I lived in a area like yrs, what are those round teeth from??
those round fossils are shark vertebrae.
blackriverfossils sup man, i live up north in Canada however i ocasionally go down to new jersey. Do u think i can find any teeth by the beach??
Turab Rizvi hey man, i'm not sure about by the beach in NJ, but I know people have found them at a place called Raminessen. I've also heard of it called Big Brook. I wish I could give you more info but thats all I know. Best of luck to you!
blackriverfossils Thanks man helps a lot!
:)
I been watching this alot
Is there any other fossil finding areas?
PikaGirl139 :3 what state
Conner Bapst um Ohio
were do you find the megalodonteeth
Where did you find them
I went down about two weeks ago and had no luck:( do you know anyone that does digs or that will take people out for a fee?
I need to get in on this megalodon teeth hunting. I've seen em go for $200-$500 at my local fossil shop.
Your so lucky, I wish I got to do this at home :P
I live in Concord, NE of Charlotte. We have a creek on our property, is there any chance I may find anything this far inland?
I'm not sure of the geology of your area, but there are fossils everywhere so its worth a look.
I do, and if I ever found one anywhere, I will probably pass out. Thank you
whales have been found in the sahara, inland? the great flood covered the entire Earth, so your good.
PinpointR that's not entirely accurate, this was once an inland sea many millions of years ago. its not noah's flood.
just curious can I go to almost any River and fine these teeth I live in the Southeast so the whole state was under water at one time pretty much
potentially yes. rivers erode fossils from where they were deposited. even far inland you can find fossils - for example, the mastodon from Michigan that has been in the news recently.
Okay there's a good spot in a river that I know might contain some it has high eroded walls on each side and a Beach like area
that sounds like a good place to check. look for gravel - in sandy places if there are fossils, they will usually be near gravel.
Are you selling any? I really would like one of the larger ones even if it's slightly damaged like a few you collected in this video
i don't sell but there are a lot of choices on ebay. you can also buy from a dealer. my friend runs the site lowcountry geologic and he has some good ones.
no, sorry, we don't sell our shark teeth but if you want to buy some you can google lowcountry geologic for teeth from the same locations
Also I live in florida close to springs are there teeth in every spring I have been to them many times never noticed any shark teeth wasn't looking for them at the time though was unaware of them bieng around
+Thomas Batts there are shark teeth and other fossils all over florida. Possibly the springs but I've never collected there.
how long does this river run how many miles?
+Abner Romero this location is just a small creek. It is only about a quarter mile long.
do you ever take people on digging experience for teeth or whatever they can find, like bing paid to be a scout?
its just a hobby for me so I don't guide tours, sorry.
Hey guys. Great videos. I'm new to tooth hunting and live in Wilmington NC. And suggestions of where I should be searching in this area?
Would you be able to find teeth in Ireland? Thanks
Thank you for the upload!! Sweet finds! I know it has been raining a lot recently, but have you guys gotten into the Ediso this summer yet? Good luck hunting!
How old is the weasling
What's the creek called that y'all go to (black river fossil)

Jenna Skuza its about 15-20 miles northwest of Charleston.
That kid is luckier than he knows. It’s my dream to do something like that. In Australia is a bit hard though.
man,i feel so jealous of yah guys,i would love to do this for my free time,i am very fascinated of the prehistoric megalodon shark, ever since I discovered this beast on the discovery channel yrs ago,i couldn't believe such an animal exhisted,i live in Michigan, and it sucks man...if I lived down soth i'd be searching for megs and shark teeth daily,it would be an awesome adventure
michigan is one of the best states for fossils though...you can find mastodons, trilobites, brachiopods, and of course petoskey
Roesch -4- Broward County Sheriff Really?? a life sized meg frozen in ice? I gotta see that! is their any photos or footage of that?
5:49 - I can't really believe a tooth from millions of years ago is just lying right there in the twigs. And it looks split and glued. Sure wish I could believe it though!
fossils like that can be found all over the eastern US if you know where to look. coincidentally, the tooth broke in half in my hand after I stopped recording so later I did glue it back together.
Nothing like fossil hunting. Sweet.
yes new video!!
Do you have a site where you sell fossils?
+Dennis Morrison no I'm sorry I don't have a site where I sell fossils.
+blackriverfossils Do you also sell them?
No. I love collecting and sharing them with others. When you have time please check out my channel here on You Tube!!!!!
+Dennis Morrison no i don't have a site where I sell fossils.
That is well. I only asked because in my collection I don't have a fossil shark tooth and there is not much chance of going out and finding one here in Michigan. But you never know I have found some pretty amazing things. Stay well and enjoy the hunt!!!!!

dont give up. www.dnr.state.mn.us/education/geology/digging/fossils.html
thanks but that's just the thing only brachiopods cephalopods and small shark teeth not as cool as you
i agree, but there are still fossils so you could if you wanted to. I bet there are cool minerals, artifacts, and relics near you.
Could you recommend any places to hunt for teeth like this?
You can find megalodon shark teeth in the Peace River in Florida.
blackriverfossils I actually went there pretty recently, didn't find any big ones but still found a ton
Would you ever sell any of these?
Justin LeBlanc for some reason i can't bring myself to sell them, but i would trade you something.
sometimes, but more often we find them while diving in the rivers
Can you find Meg teeth in northand irland?
+DragonFire 74 sorry i don't know.
a friend of mine found one 7 3/32 inches long. that was a huge shark!!
