  • Atlantic ocean inshore fossil ledge dive, 87 ft to the sand. Hunting for megalodon teeth. A number of teeth are found on this dive. Largest measures just under 5 1/2 inches.
Full dive, unedited to show what it can be like to hunt for teeth in this area. There are hotspots with multiples, you might just take a little bit to find them. Around the 20 minute mark I hit one, and find two fives and two four inch megs in less than two minutes.

Great video Brett !! What were all of the gold looking rocks that were all over the area ? Also it would be really fun to see everything that you collected after the dive in a place where you can spread them out so that we can what you got from the dive, thanks !!

Thanks for the suggestion, I may try to do that in a future video. Gold looking rocks were most likely just that, rocks...or fossilized pieces of bone (also now rocks). At this depth water filters out most the color, so everything looks like a greenish blue. The camera I used a couple years back, and for this dive was probably trying to compensate for this and made some algae and growth on rocks looks like that.

Where exactly is this/ what dive shop did you use??

The fossil ledges are off the coast of North Carolina. Most people that dive them either go out from Wrightsville Beach or Carolina Beach. A number of shops run charters, this one was with a shop called Aquatic Safaris. I now dive mostly on a private boat that doesn't run charters.

None at all. They're very curious and looking for a meal.

Maybe if you spent less time fanning the sand and more time looking you would find more

Looking back, that probably would've been a great idea. This was my first dive ever for shark teeth and I was told to find an area and fan...so I did. It worked out ok in this area, but some spots surface hunting is definitely the best bet. Thanks for watching.
