I've currently got the Lifestrategy 100% and FTSE Global All Cap Accumulation in vanguard both of which aren't available in trading212, do you think it's worth selling both of those within vanguard and buying a fund that's available in trading212 (eg VUSA or VWRP, VHYL etc) then transferring the stocks and cash? Or selling for cash and transferring cash instead? Worried about losing those couple weeks like you mentioned
Excellent video and perfect timing due to Vanguard fee changes. 1 question: Ive not added to Vanguard this tax year, only last tax year. Would I still need to put current and previous tax year if I want all of it transfered over? Or would I need to just tick the previous tax year and untick the current tax year option?
I'm sure it will still be fine if you tick both boxes, they have to confirm with Vanguard anyway, I would personally just leave it as default as you don't have any current year's deposits, but better tick, just in case.
To my understanding, current price on arrival won't make you loose any money. By setting the average purchase price (which is a value you can copy from your Vanguard account) your Trading 212 shares can reflect the true cost basis, whilst if you don't specify this price the the purchase price will reflect the price at the time of transfer.
I would like to pick the option “stocks and cash (in species)” but it says it is unavailable and coming soon, would you know when it will become available?
Quick question Jubair. When trying to transfer from a Barclays ISA into the T212 ISA, it asks for an account number….. but doesn’t accept my ISA ID, any ideas what I am meant to do? The chat bot doesn’t give a solution?
I would email them! Unfortunately I haven't tried to transfer from a high stret bank. I know that they are really busy though! Don't try to transfer the cash yourself, because your ISA allowance will be impacted
@ Thanks mate, Apparently Barclays have managed to transfer the clients ISA’s to Trading212, so I know it is do-able…. Just Trading212s walk though is a “computer says no” issue. I will take your advise and email them.
Hi - I am trying to tarnsfer my Vanguard General Investment account (VUSA holding only) to Trading 212 Invest account. But it does not show me the in-specie option for it. It does though show the in-specie option for my Stocks ISA transfer. Could someone confirm that it is possible or not to do an in-specie transfer from Vanguard for the General Investment account also and not just the Stocks ISA?
If it's a general account, there are no tax implications really, apart from realising your capital gains, there's always the option to transfer in cash. The ISA transfer is specifically beneficial to avoid losing your ISA allowance.
Same issue i’m facing - I want to transfer my life strategy 100 but I certainly don’t want to sell it right now. So do we just have to stay with Vanguard as I have no choice?
When you sell from Vanguard (cash), then it transfers into Trading 212, does it use up your ISA allowance? So let's say I transfer £15k from Vanguard to 212, do I still get my 5k allowance for the tax year?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Thank you very much for responding and clarifying. I was considering whether to readjust things on the Vanguard side first, and then to in specie. Or just to do the Cash option. I guess either way, we will be out of the market for a bit.
Thank you for creating this video, great help. Only one issue I have is when I try to transfer my isa I only get the option to transfer as 'Cash' the other option is 'Stocks and Cash (in specie) coming soon'. Is anyone else getting this and is there any way around this?
What if I have (for example) 10.532 shares of a particular vanguard fund. As fractions are not possible, do I just put '10' ? If I do this will the 10 shares be transfered to t212 and the remaining .532 left in vanguard? If this is the case do I then cash the remainder and transfer as cash in a separate transfer? Many thanks.
The ISA allowance isn't lost when you go through this transfer process, that is why you need to use this process and not transfer it through other means, such as your bank.
Yes you could use that, but you can also probably transfer to your bank and then to Trading 212, it's more important when you are trying to save your ISA allowances
If you are way under your allowance and only have a couple of thousand in Vanguard, would it be easier just to transfer the money back into my bank account then put it directly into trading 212?
on your vanguard account in the overview tab there's a detailed view button which shows the amount of shares. fyi with trading212 you can only transfer full shares so any fractional units on vanguard you'll need to sell first and transfer the cash

Bro thanks for this, just done this and a very helpful video!
No way, big Yath Prem! Hope you are doing well!
I don't understand number of shares? On vanguard is this the same as units? Appreciate the help.

@@Dr.JubairsFinancehow do you transfer the spare cash within your isa if you picked in specie transfer?
Why does it not let me transfer saying the transfer feature isn’t available yet on their app?

Can you only use Pies in T212 for the S&S ISA (and therefore just create a pie containing a single ETF) or can you choose the ETF directly?
No, you can choose any investment individually, in fact, I rarely ever use pies
couldn't find the vanguard global all cap index fund on t212
I don't think they actually have that one here
@ yes I have just requested my shares to be sold on vanguard and then invest on t212 as that seem to be the only option, hopefully a good idea

@nikhilkaithwal HMRC would never let you do that
@ - I don’t want to realise my gains right now. Not that I am trying to hide my gains and hence want to do an in-specie transfer.
I dont get the same options when i input my account number. Takes me to a page that says add assets. Any help?
Are you doing this on your Invest account or Stocks ISA account?
Stocks isa. Thats only account i have with vanguard. I use a public pie for trading 212 and have a lifetime with moneybox.
I have the same problem at the minute did yours resolve after 11 days since you commented?
@mehmethanaris8073 no. Just checked again and same as before
Will I be able to transfer my vanguard life strategy 100 over to T212?

No, if you use the transfer funds feature, it should not contribute to any loss of ISA allowance
So in specie transfer is faster? Or even immediate?
I know you said for cash it takes a few weeks!
I don't think it's be any faster in particular, transfers tend to take a bit of time

Will I be able to transfer my Vanguard life strategy 80% over to T212? Thanks
Life strategy funds are exclusive to Vanguard, so Trading 212 will not have it
@ thank you for responding, time to sell up!
I can see lifestrategy 80 on T212 .... only the 100 that's not available.
But it's in the Euros, so you'll be paying that fx fee
@@Dr.JubairsFinance true. Very valid point. One option would be to create one's own pie to mimic the lifestrategy100.

Thanks for the transfer video. Will doing that over next wk or so. What abt Junior ISA u hold for the child?

Fractional shares aren't available on Vanguard.
i have the same issue with my ftse 100 units. I would assume that's the case and the fractional aspect will stay in vanguard until you sell for cash
@@Dr.JubairsFinanceyes they are. If you invest a set amount per month you are going to have a non whole number of fund units.

The ISA allowance isn't lost when you go through this transfer process, that is why you need to use this process and not transfer it through other means, such as your bank.

Great guide. What happens if I also have a small amount of cash in Vanguard where it is not enough for a fractional share?
Cash is not affected by this £4 fee, Vanguard should not charge for cash
@@Dr.JubairsFinance how do one withdraw that cash?

Yes you could use that, but you can also probably transfer to your bank and then to Trading 212, it's more important when you are trying to save your ISA allowances

Both are great choices, in my opinion
both are great. Invest engine if all you are doing is ETF's and 212 for stocks
If you are way under your allowance and only have a couple of thousand in Vanguard, would it be easier just to transfer the money back into my bank account then put it directly into trading 212?
Could be, but why would you miss out of your allowance? You might end up regretting it if you came into money.

You're very welcome!
Mine went straight to the review and sign without stating number of share, prices and stufff. Why is that
It will probably come back to you if they need more information
So how come everyone was saying trading 212 didn’t have the same features vanguard has? Looks like I’ll be switching over
I guess it doesn't have some of the exact funds, but a lot of similar investments can be made on Trading 212
With a £3k portfolio, is it worth just selling and reinvesting elsewhere. Not gonna got the ISA limit by April!
I suppose you could do that, but you never know if you will come into money at any given point!
When I go to transfer my portfolio, I want to select the stocks and cash option, but it is unavailable, why is this?
I think you have to be in the stocks ISA first
