Omg!!!! You just save a thousand pesos!!! I've been searching YT for videos on how to fix mine..i am so glad I found your video. It worked!!!! After just a few tap tue stopper pop up again and it's working perfectly fine again! Thank you so so much! ❣️❣️❣️
Dude thank you so much! All the videos I was finding had complicated fixes or using dental floss but my was stuck so far down there was no way the dental floss could have helped. And as a renter I don’t want to mess with piping and be responsible for potential damages. Your solution was by far the easiest and quickest. My sink can finally drain thank you so much
OMG you just saved my life and $$$ , i could not open the under sink pipes like other videos said , i had been trying for hours and then 1 minute after watching your video it is fixed ! thank you thank you thank you 😭
Thank you it works I rarely use the stopper, so it must be stucked because of some kind of grime or something like that. After it popped up, it's back like new again.
Thank you so much! I just tried 5 minutes ago and it worked. I thought that pushing it from down was gonna work but it didn't, the sink stopper was really stuck. I even tried with sunflower oil jajaja. Now I don't have to call my dad :D. THANK YOU from Chile!
OMG this worked like a charm! Light tapping with the soft grip of a hammer. None of the other TH-cam video suggestions worked for me. Thank you for saving me from having to pay for a plumber to fix this!
Tapping it plus moving the lever up and down fixed my problem! Thank you! 🙂 Also, the hole near the bottom of my drain plug was never threaded like it should've properly been done upon installation. But after me trying for 20-30 mins to fix that problem, I ended up not threading it because no matter how I adjusted the plug's height, the plug wasn't high enough to allow for timely water drainage. So, now I see why this wasn't done ten years ago when I bought this home!
@@ThePunggolHandyMan And I just re-fixed the same drain using the combo of the video's technique and my aforementioned of moving the lever up and down! But THIS time, I added the step of cleaning the gunk off of the stopper (I'll probably run it through the dish washer) AND where the stopper makes contact around the edge of the drain. Hopefully my additional step will make the overall fix last longer.
Brilliant! Thanks mate. Just the advice I needed to replace a jammed sink stopper. The assembly was jammed solid and an easy replacement, thanks to you.
My man... incredible and implausible as it seems this worked on my stuck up bathtub plug. I hope you have the best flipping weekend of your life. God bless!!
Absolutely brilliant tip. Wouldn’t ever have considered this and don’t understand how it worked but a light few taps with a plastic end of a knife and job done.
YOU HAVE SAVED MY LIFE! Five days ago I did something really stupid. I pushed the sink stopper down with too much force and it has been jammed shut since. I tried putting dish soap on it and sticking a knife blade around the edge with NO luck. I decided to try looking online and I watched your video. I used the end of a screwdriver handle. My first taps were to soft and did nothing, so I tapped it harder very rapidly and up it popped! You are a GENIUS!!!
My stopper is all the way down. Maybe 1/4” down the drain (I did try to push it few times to fix it and it never went back up) the tapping didn’t work. What else do you recommend?
You can throw the whole assembly into hot 1:1 vinegar to decalcify. If there's no gasket, boiling it should remove the debris. WD40 is not meant for this, grease, preferably teflon grease is preferred. If it works, it should be bring back a few months or years of life.

I was in a relative's house and this happened. I was thinking of many ways to apologize and then I looked up this video. Easily the greatest sigh of my life.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It was slow going with the tapping, but it worked!! Took the whole thing out, cleaned it and put it in a drawer 😂 We don’t use the stopper anyway!
Work some floss under the stopper with a toothpick. Floss that thing. Once it comes up disassemble by turning the stopper counter clockwise, lubricate liberally with wd40 or other penetrant. Put it on your list of things to do every six months.
Mine is stuck too but It's not one that can be removed like the type in this video. rather it is the oscillating type that's attached to the silver ring ... I can't find any video showing my type :(
@@KevinMcFlyingsorry can you tell me how to push it from below? I had the same problems and I opened below, remove hair and dirt but don’t know how to push it.
