Good video. I have the PR-5000 + Ares and love it. One thing I noticed is that you installed the low bracket w/ pulley on the front posts on the wrong sides. The pulleys are supposed to be near the ground, not elevated. I don't know if you did this intentionally or not, but just wanted to point this out in case it was accidental. Here's the part of the installation video that covers how that piece should be installed: th-cam.com/video/RF9dydArtg4/w-d-xo.html
Nice review! You said you wished there was a “banana” attachment for the low row… you were holding it! Stick a carabiner on the middle circle and then you can you any normal attachment.
Nice review. Did you consider the Athena and the lat/row machine? Since I’m leaning toward 30” depth leaning toward the Athena for the extra space in the back/inside of the rack. Curious what factors made you choose the Ares
@@dansteiner9393 thx! I decided that’s what I’m going to do to. Unfortunately I didn’t buy nice my first time so I’m buying twice. I have a 6 post Titan now. Sell rack and rebuild my platform so the new rig will be sure to fit in my garage. Going to start with a 16” pr5000 with lat/low row and build out from there. Add 30” then AthenaS. I anticipate this ecosystem will outlive me this time around
Only reason I'd go with Ares over Athena + lat pull down is to minimaize footprint: the latter has the lat pull down protruding from the rear. My home office is super tight and I have to minimize footprint. Otherwise would do Athena and lat pulldown.
Looking for an update on those of you with an Athena selectorized and lat low row selectorized. Is it holding up well? Is it everything you hoped it would be?
Yeah you would still have some clearance between the ceiling and the top of the uprights. However, if you go after the multi-grip pull-up bar, you may run into some issues as it add another inch of height. We have the 80-inch version with the multi-grip bar and I have just enough room for my head when doing pull-ups.
@@Nuttman5150 Our ceiling is around nine feet! If you do the 93" with an eight-foot ceiling, I'd recommend the standard or globe grip pull-up bars. You could still get the multi-grip, but you'll have to invert it since it adds a few inches to the height total.
Love it..no rep fitness at the time of me building my home gym (Aus) so bought the next best thing - ATX Fitness atx pulled off what Rogue wanted the slinger could be. Then Rep Fitness took it another level 👏
Great video, do you think an 80” post would limit a person 6’0” on doing tricep exercises or any exercises using the trolleys because they don’t go all the way up? Thanks

Agreed. It's an awesome rack and attachment. REP has done an amazing job with their equipment.
How wide is this combo?
Nice review! You said you wished there was a “banana” attachment for the low row… you were holding it! Stick a carabiner on the middle circle and then you can you any normal attachment.
You installed it incorrectly, the cables are loose because the bottom front pulleys are upside down. Just an FYI.
Good catch
What do you mean? They look the same as the Reps page
FYI - It looks like the bottom front pulleys are upside down...
Too expensive specially when there are so many much cheaper alternatives like Force USA
Yeah on the landmine, you could always ad some front feet or mini feet and attach a landmine to that if you want it rack attached
Why not mount the landmine on top of that bottom crossmember?
Wish it had a Smith machine built-in
My whole gym is Rogue, and I need a new rack... hard to justify a Monster when the PR5000 has more options and is at a better price.
Do you feel restricted with cable movements with the 80” rack (as I think the total cable movement is less than the 93” rack)?
Great question! We haven't felt held back by the cable movements, but understand why taller people might be concerned by that.

I went back and forth, but ultimately decided on a PR-5000 with weight stack athenas on both sides, and a selectorized lat/row in the back.

@BarBend Are you able to squat off the front of this rack?
600 for 10 hrs of assembly? Not worth it very few people net 60 an hour that
Totally understand! It wouldn't of taken me that long if I had an extra hand, but it was still a grind!
4,500.. yeah right
PR4000 might be better with the 5/8 inch holes for attachments from other companies too
No smith, I’m out
It’s a good one for sure
About to get a Rep rack curious why you didn't get ISO bars which you can do so many workouts with plus dips as well?
No reason in particular, I just decided to not get the ISO Arms. Loving the dip station though!
They look like they'd be a pain to move around with the Ares trolley's compared to dip bars
@@Williams-world69 Yeah I didn't get iso's got Rep rack and dual athenas and love it!
I’m thinking of getting the 80inch due to space. If you don’t mind me asking how tall are you? It will give me an idea on if 80in is a mistake.
Jake is about 5'10" and hasn't had any issues with the pull-up bar!
@@Barbend thank you
Did you end up getting the 80”? @williepayne3351
Would a 9 foot ceiling height be OK for the 80 or the 93 inch?

Thank you for the review ! Totally considering an Ares !

I don't think so! You have 62 inches to work with on the uprights (the pulleys take away some of the space), and you can always manipulate angles.
ive got a punch that can sink a battle ship ...

How high off the ground is the multigrip pull up bar? I'm hoping for 95"... thanks!
It will be 95" off the ground if you choose the 93" tall rack with the multi-grip pull-up bar!
Thanks dude, I'd like it an inch or 2 higher, but 95 will do. Cheers.@@Barbend

Speaking of weak, you can't even bench your weight.
