You can do these 3 simple tests at home to identify the level of purity of your essential oils. Your essential oils may be pure and quality. However, it is possible that it has been mixed with other oils (other substances) and reduced it's quality as 100% pure.
What are 3 simple tests you can do?
    1. Freeze test
You can put your essential oil in the freezer section for 8 hours. See if there is the formation of ice cubes, this means that your oil has another mixture. Your 100% pure essential oil may also freeze, but it takes a very long time and it is very easy to reheat it. Just rub at the palm of your hand.
    2. Penny drop test
You will need a polystyrene cup and a coin. Drop the oil on the bottom surface of the polystyrene cup and place a coin on it. See the effect in 1 hour. Plant essential oils also have a specific reaction, but they are not as strong as oils that have been mixed with other substances.
    3. Ring test
The easiest way to spot if an essential oil is pure or fake would be to conduct a ring test on a white strip of paper. Dropping one drop of essential oil onto the surface and leave it to dry. If a visible ring of residue appears after the essential oil has dried, then you know that the oil has been diluted with carrier oil and less pure.
    Other than that,
    4. Pure essential oils are stored in dark, glass amber bottles.
When looking for a reliable essential oil supplier, take not of where and how the essential oil are stored. The best type of containers to store essential oils are usually amber or dark blue because they can protect the essential oils from ultraviolet rays that might degrade the essential oils in the long run. Anything that is stored in plastic containers are definitely not pure essential oils because once pure essential oils come into contact with plastic, it won’t take long before the plastic starts to break down.
    5. Read the label.
The label should specify that it is 100% pure essential oil and it should clearly state the latin name of the plant used to make the oil. The label should clearly list all ingredient in the formula, and if you’re shopping for a pure essential oil, it should have only one ingredient.

Thank you for giving some new tests besides the paper test that everyone is talking about. I did this ring test with oils I expected to be fake (Majestic Pure) and they completely evaporated. Does this mean they are 100% natural or could synthetics evaporate?

My Rosemary Essential Oil from one company fully dried out within 10-15 minutes. And another one took 30 minutes. Which one is pure?
