- CustomGuitarVideo.com Part 4 of the extensive Tom Wittrock documentary features SANDY, one of the most famous 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standards. Tom talks about the different color variations, the Burst Brothers explain how much color affects price and collectability. The second half covers the different types of flame on vintage Les Paul Standard Bursts. Beautiful footage of Sandy. Tastefully filmed and edited by Holger Obenaus.
Tom finally sold Sandy to a Japanese collector I think a couple years ago. . What a most beautiful guitar. The stuff dreams are made of.
Thats right, i've seen this movie a time ago, and at some days ago I was talking with a luthier and told him about that flame... that flame is impossible to forget.
Hej Tom, hope you feel fine.🥰 We meet in my Ü30 Pub in Germany Rheinböllen and had a very nice time with all your friends.
Just ordered a CC #4 Sandy. Can't wait for it...... Dammit!
Sweet Pair in the video..
Myself I prefer the Lemon Burst BUT??
They're all great!! Gary/Hk
It is a tune on Deaf Mango Watson's new album called 'Jammin on the bayou' and received the Golden Cajun Swamp Festival Award this year. He played live at the Catfish Gumbo Bar along with Al Harpo Disjuncto the famous New Orleans blues harmonica player so so much for your taste!
I have one question do you have any idea as to how much would it cost in the future and aslo how would you preserve it through the age
Beautiful
Jeff adams from face dancer, asked paul reed smith to build a guitar for him, that was the golden eagle that went to howard leese.
I would say the color of the 59 is a Honeyburst or Iced Tea burst
Why did you keep this one?
so how is it?
well the collectors have made these guitars so damn expensive, you´ll don´t look at it as a musical instrument only as a beautifull piece of wood.
I've seen some 60 bursts that were kinda quilty.
collectors choice #4
Love that Sandy...wish I wasn't left handed.
I hear you it took me 17 years to find Lefty les paul
@gibsongold1970 An aluminum tailpiece balances that out on newer Les Pauls, IMHO
oh my god!
Tell me about it...I am on the site of the dealer I will be getting mine from every day and night salivating....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :( but I hope the wait will be worth it...I have had three in my hands to play and they were all supra-orbitally inter-gallactis!!!!!
Slobber all over my keyboard!!!
who plays in the background at around 3:13 ? its AWFUL
Sometimes Maple can be too gawdy imo.
