God uses the actions of wicked people to bring about his perfect will! This calms my anxious heart as I see so much wickedness in the world today. He is working all things together for his for those who love him.

The story of Tamar, when viewed through the genealogy in Matthew 1, is so filled with God’s Grace and Mercy. I also love the thought that maybe God gave her twins because of the 2 children that Er and Onan robbed her of.

Joseph is my favorite. Even with no Bible, no small group to encourage him, no family to surround him, he walked with God and God blessed him. I look forward to meeting him in heaven!

Yes it really resonates in my soul and I can relate to it. No matter who does you wrong or what happens in life, turn to Him who is able to give you peace and “possibly” restore if it’s His will to do so. Walking in forgiveness is SO IMPORTANT because He FIRST forgave us ♥️

We should never stop reading the Bible. Each time is meant to teach us something new about God. I know many that have read the Bible and ✅done. But it is too rich and complicated to read only once. The more you read it the hungrier you are for it. Can't stop at just once! Thank you Lord for pulling me in close to you.

The story of Joseph is one of my absolute favorite Bible stories. I love how we are reminded over and over that despite Joseph’s circumstances, the LORD was with him. That was definitely my God shot today.

    My God Shot:
God is with Joseph. Even in poor circumstances like being in prison, God gives Joseph favor.
No matter your circumstance, God can help you relatively based on you location/circumstances. If you are in a poor country God can help you in different ways than if you are in a rich country. For example, a well of water can be grace, or a new job can be grace from God.

If we had a Tamar around us in this time and age, we'd have concluded that maybe Tamar was the one killing the brothers or something from her village is after her; not knowing it was God fighting her battles.
    1. Don't be quick to judge people.
    2. I'm sure you'd rather have God fight your battles than fighting the battles yourself with all the energies you got.
In the end we can only conclude God wanted justice for Tamar, that she even had no idea of.
In chapter 40, the version I read states that Joseph served them even while in the prison. Whatever life throws at you isn't an excuse not to serve. Jesus says you have to serve and not be served if you want to be great in our kingdom.
My God-shot therefore is knowing that God fights and will fight my battles irrespective of my imperfections.

I’m seeing how God uses virtue in His people. True, Judah was horrible and hypocritical to Tamar, but when the proof of his actions are made public, he has the virtue and humility to admit that “she is more righteous than I,” spares her life, and the Messiah’s lineage comes through his son Perez. Then Joseph, even though God never appears personally to him the way He did with Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham, Joseph literally runs from evil in order to honor God’s name. God loves and draws near to virtuous men and women!

The Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in everything he did and even blessed the household of Potiphar because of Joseph.
God has been speaking to me lately, in multiple arenas, this message- He wants to bless everything I do and everyone I'm connected to through me. He wants the same for all of you.

I am tempted to liken Joseph to the ark of the covenant because while the ark was in the house of Obed Edom, he prospered in all things. Everything in Potiphar's house prospered because of Joseph.
Joseph carried something that put people at ease and made people so confident that they entrusted him with everything they owned. He was a high value individual who proffered excellent mind boggling, mind altering, value driven solutions. With Joseph in charge these people went to bed without an iota of doubt.
Joseph had excellent managerial skills because taking care of a home and businesses is not an easy task.

Joseph and Judah. We see them both today.
Judah’s sons got we he deserved. The rest of us are just living on mercy. God’s protection is there for Tamar.
God’s nearness to Joseph caused others to take notice of him. Leaders and others in charge including Potipher’s wife. She takes his cloak from him when he refuses her advances. This is the second time someone has used his clothes against him. Joseph was thrown in prison but the Lord was with him.
God remains so faithful to His children.
Jesus comes from the line of Judah- a broken man. Even though we can be unfaithful God isn’t!

God is just and merciful. Amen.
It seems like a strange thing to include this story of Judah and Tamar. But, I always remember that everything in scripture is important and has a purpose. The word of God is certainly not boring! Judah failed in that he married outside the bloodline. But, this is my takeaway from that story; despite our failings and sin, God is a redeemer of even our messes. Our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, comes from the line of Judah. What a mighty God we serve, who took that messy scenario and brought forth our Messiah, the Only One who can take away our shame. He shed His blood on the cross for us to be free from the bondage of sin! Joseph was a man of integrity, even in prison. God was with him. My takeaway from this part of the story is that it doesn't matter where we find ourselves in this life as long as we keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. Whether high or low, God is with us (Immanuel).

many parts of Joseph's life picture Christ. I believe the butler and the baker represent the 2 men who died alongside Jesus. the butler, presented the fruit of the vine while the other took what he produced. One represents the cup of the New Testament, that is, grace. The other, works. In one we see the crushing of grapes, Christ dying for our sins. The other, shows the vain efforts, the sacrifices of men. God is only pleased by, and we are only accepted in, the Person of the Lord Jesus.

I sometimes wonder what Joseph was like. He might have been an all-around great guy. But I think for a while at least he was a bit of a braggart, even if only innocently. That, combined with his good looks, talent, and being his father's favorite probably made him insufferable to some - he certainly was to his brothers - unless of course they wished to profit from his ability, like Potipher. Fortunately, in time, he learned humility and grew in faith toward Yahweh, becoming a beautiful type of Christ.

If we re-read chapter Genesis chapter 9. Ham was not curse. Verse 1says that GOD blessed Noah and his sons. We misinterpreted that HAM was curse. Verse 24 distinctly says that Noah cursed Cannan. True, Ham was the father of Canaan(grandson) as we see in verse 18. The curse was placed on Canaan. Verses 26 & 27 that Canaan would be the slave. Chapter 10 Verse 15 identifies Canaan lineage.

    • @thatMimosaGrove
      @thatMimosaGrove 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Actually, Tara said that the Canaanites are "the cursed descendants of Noah's son Ham," which, I think, would be an accurate way of wording it. It's true that people often say Ham was cursed when it was really Canaan who was cursed. But that's kind of understandable since Canaan was Ham's son and he was cursed because of Ham's sin (which, btw, was arguably the sin of having sex with Noah's wife, i.e., his own mother. 😳😬 But that's another story!)

God loves us and, in this scripture reading, continues to fulfill His plans to bring us near to Him in grace.
Judah, the ancestor of Jesus, has sons who die because of their sinful ways. In God's plan, Judah must have descendents and he has not taken action to give a husband to the wife of his deceased eldest son, as required by God. She learns of his travel plans and entices him by appearing as a prostitute. She conceives by him and God's plan is fulfilled through this act of deception and sin, mercifully allowing Judah to survive.
Joseph likewise is a shadow and symbol of Jesus. Joseph has been rejected by his people and lives in Egypt. God blesses Joseph and he prospers at all he does. The egyptians over him take notice and Joseph is put in charge over their affairs. The wife of one of the egyptians, Potiphar, repeatedly tries to seduce Joseph. We are given a lesson on how to deal with sin when we see how Joseph dealt with sin - steadfastly refusing it and then fleeing it.
God loves us and shows his love for us through the love of these people in the reading and how His plan is fulfilled.
