    I started trapping about 4 years ago. Not only did I learn about trapping from a long time friend, but watching your show and watching Coon Creek Outdoors pretty much nonstop helped tremendously. Thanks a bunch for all the tips and tricks in trapping. You'll probably forget more about trapping than I'll ever learn or know.

    Great videos! Not only good for protecting ground nesters but song bird nest are predated on in the trees by possums and coons. Great work!

    Great video guys!!! I just cut a juice bottle in half and cover the trap with it. Keeps out the mice, and birds, and keeps the bait dry! Coons and possums just flip it off and go for the bait! I also just pound a concrete stake in the ground with a swivel to the dog-proof chain. Coons and possums could care less if a stake is sticking out of the ground. The only DP traps I use are Duke pull only! Best out there!

    Stu, you're a good man for keeping quiet when they mentioned the offset jaws being easier on an animal. Haha. It makes no sense

    • @NorthAmericanTrapperTV
      @NorthAmericanTrapperTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You commented, so please pontificate on how an Off-Set with thicker, more covered area covering, thicker jaws will NOT be easier on the animal than a straight full thin jawed trap……GO!

    Controlling Nest raiders and turning one loose? One female possum can have two litters a year up to 12 each litter that’s a lot of nest raiders.

    • @usernamehere6061
      @usernamehere6061 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Turning one loose doesn't mean someone isn't still controlling nest raiders. Taking 100 out and turning 1 loose is better than a guy that takes 0 out.

    Hey guys. You know something? As americans we produce some of the finest quality fur in the world because we farmers unintentionally provide them with plenty of outstanding nutrition which is key to hair & skin(derma which is the leather) development. This is alittle off topic,but for several reasons we free american entrepreneurs should be making the fur,leather & buckskin right here in america as well as fur garments. Such high quality hides bringing such little prices form foreign Markets for such a long time? Funny,price of the finished product sure hasn't dropped when we go to purchase it back? None the less these american hides go to basically 2 nations for the most part. Russia & China who is more or less supporting Putins & Russias wild claims about security. I dont know ,but I havent seen any hijacked planes slam buildings in Moscow? Have you? Or any Nazi swastika plastered around the Ukraine country? You know,threaten us & the rest of the world that think the mass murder & mutilation of an entire country with no evidence of it being a danger to you is wrong & has to stop! We really should be processing them here & screw those idiots. Leather prices & utility fur prices spike during wars,does not matter if we are in them or not. Seems like a good ,non perishable(3000 yr shelf life) venture that needs no heat or cold energy to store, it can be very green & even help the environment? A security threat? Common give me a break, at 56 yrs old I can still remember air aid drills through out my entire public school period of education & the cuba Missle crisis where Russian had Nuclear war heads & missles pointed in our back door in cuba just 100 miles or so from Florida coast line. We did not invade or start a war or kill innocent people. And I would consider that a real danger possibility with tangible evidence. Forsake them until they are a desolation & a destitution! We should avoid letting them make a dime off of any hide as they do with our american white tail deer. You know 2 -$4 for a hide average for us american hunters ,but once they buckskin or bark tan it they charge us $100 to $400 a hide to buy one. Really a good time to think about american hunters & trappers turning the table. Hell we might even find a lot of favor in the American public eye by doing so. Now back to watch you video. Great day,god bless.

      @text1140 Thank you so much,what a wonderful gesture,but I'm low income (disabled) & the shipping & handling of such gifts & rewards are not usually workable in my budget & situations. I got all the reward I needed, because of you & your comment section,thank you Stu I got to spew out the truth that was in my mind before the public. We are definitely on the same page with alot of our interests & endeavors. Construction/destruction,farming,logging,firewood merchant, trap,hunt,fish? Even camping / survival living- x special forces ect. I may not be wealthy at all, & even disabled,but I want not for a single necessity, because I live in the greatest nation on earth,I am grateful,fortunate & very content with all that. "But?" I just feel that american hunters & trappers & our fur market should show our disgust for the invasion ,suffering & killing of innocent men,women & childhood civilians & make use of (manufacture) our leather & fur products from start to finish esp er cially seen as how they dont want to pay squat for them & then rape us on the finished product. Natural buckskin & bark tan is 10× better than all the other chemical tanning & is totally green & planet friendly. There are no toxic waste chemical brines or permit to dispose of it. The by products & waste brines are top notch green fertilizes!
      If I had my way,we wouldn't be sending 1 hide over seas & at the same time as rewarding our hide harvesters, we could impose yet another loss on these evil,un neighborly type countries. You gave me the opportunity to suggest that to other americans. Thank you. That's all the reward I needed. Love the videos,keep them coming please.
