  • The Gibbs Phase Rule provides a relationship between the number of thermodynamic degrees of freedom that can be independently specified for a system, the number of components of the system, and the number of phases that coexist at equilibrium.

    nice lecture. never taught this way. Details are nicely explained. Incremental steps taken to reach general equation is commendable. Was looking for one more example in which species undergo reaction.
