It's one thing to hear it ( dozens of times over the decades), it's another thing to SEE how it was composed. The math involved, the symmetry, the frentic yet accurate delivery, pure GENIUS, Frank was the man.
NOT an easy song to play. Lots of passion in this performance. No sheet music. Pure memorization. Musicians truly dedicated to their craft. Well Done FUSE!
This video proofes that the compositions from Frank Zappa were not only some strange rockmusic, even with his pieces he was inspired by Varese, this great music is so original that it could take place in modern classic music, and I hear six musicians on the level of Chronos Quartett - give you the best attention and rest full of admiration! Written by a old man, Zappa Fan since 48 years!😀💕🙏🤗😎

This score is but one of many that demonstrates the complexity, originality and genius of his musical pursuits. The musicians playing this piece are absolutely incredible and successful with their performance! Bravo!
HEARING ACOUSTICALLY, IT HAS AN EASTERN EUROPEAN folk sound to it especially when it begins to gallop in the second part after the intro......well done.
So damn interesting and pleasant to the aesthetic mind! This arrangement highlights the core musical gems of this piece. A real tribute to the richness of Frank's compositional greatness.
Listening to this version of Zappa's Echidna's Arf just exemplifies what a genius he was. Apparently these kids practiced before trotting this out. Now imagine them playing this in front of Zappa and in the middle of it all he signals them to do it in a reggae time signature... This was blistering and perfect.
wow, this is definitely my favorite version of echidna's arf. it's so cool to hear a strings group cover zappa, he didnt arrange for strings all too much. anyone else get gentle giant vibes from moments like 1:02? :)
Those people better have given you money for the privilege of having their ears blessed with this live rendition. Isn't it a crime in the EU to not pay musicians who play Zappa's music in public? From my understanding it is considered a public service to cleanse the air of noxious substances by jiggling the molecules with fantastic rhythm and harmony generating utensils. And so the EU stated that people who directly benefit from the service need to pay an "environmental fee" to compensate the sonic sculptors. At least, it was real...in my mind.

I had an ear worm of Afternoon Delight running through my head. The ear worm is gone but now I have a great desire to touch my violin in very inappropriate ways. Thank you!
