Being doing rings for almost half year or so and mostly straight arm strength, they are all what calisthenics athletes need it's like getting the little wheels of a bike when we where children, just embrace it and your body will respond
@@madassathish3539 that’s the thing, progression is key but I mean i do have months of not doing a workout consisting on pull ups and dips I mostly do straight arm strength even in the gym, the moment I had a supinated back lever, that when I started doing planche (tucked, and trying tucked advanced) the most people spend a lot of time doing basics (bent arm strength) and they miss the opportunity to progress on all the skills properly
what fitness books you have? Im curious what the two books are (between OG and Becoming a Supple Leopard. Also, in general, what books improve yourself are you reading?
Great video, very informative at a very handy length! Could you provide some guidance on when to start training (towards) dips? I can do three sets of ten relatively clean ring push-ups and I don't know whether I should be progressing towards dips or rather something like archer push-ups? (Sorry, I do realise you're not my private coach 🙈)
No worries and good question. This is actually something I have been meaning to talk about because I get similar questions, re. dips VERSUS push ups, when actually the question should be how to incorporate the two together. At 3x10 push ups, you're definitely strong enough to work on a few bodyweight dips, but perhaps start with some band assisted on parallel bars first. So for example you could go 2x8 banded dips followed by 2x8 push ups and level up the reps over time hope this helps 💪🏿
@@CaliToTheCrowd yeh the 32mm is thicker so grip is not the main point but maybe if you train with a 32 first the 28 will feel better and skills will come easily, depending on the hand too maybe 🤔

Does doing ring dips better for planche training compared to bar dips?
@madassathish3539 do planche on rings
@ I can’t do planche on bar itself

How do I activate my core? I never know if I'm doing it correctly and when I try to do it, it's harder for me to breathe
Would like to know too
the core will activate for itself, you dont need to activate nothing
you are not thinking in each muscle you activate every time you walk, so its the same when you exercise
Which diameter size to go for?28mm or 32mm?
@@madassathish3539 both are ok, the standard in competitions Is 28mm maybe because of the grip or something just get anyone
Good question. To José's point, both get the job done, but I find grip on 28mm to feel faaaaaar better
