Just a hobbyist, but I ordered a precision level a month ago. So perfect timing. Will use your tips when I will level my cnc router. thanks for showing this.
I ended up buying a Spindle bar and it looks pretty good. After watching this video I realized it wasn’t low, it was high on the left side. I’m pretty sure it has to do with my indexer running on the right side hitting full rapid for over two years straight. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Bar Keepers works pretty good. That and the Oven window cleaner if you keep up with it. Going to make a point to clean them twice a month and see how well they stay clear.
This was a great video but could we see how to relevel a lathe or to level a newly installed lathe. As I have just purchased a cnc lathe and I'm looking to find more info on this.
Loved the video! Lots of great knowledge. Thank you! Do you happen to have a link to Amazon of the type of screen protector that was recommended to you since there are so many types. Love to give it a try.
Great video, thanks for posting it! I got my first VMC in August 2022. Never owned one before, never leveled one before. After 14 HOURS of pure torture I got it to within 0.0004". It's been 2+ years. I guess it's time to go torture myself again. Hopefully your tips will help me get it done much faster!
Rain-x will eat the polycarbonate. Rain-x for plastic.. Ceramic coating (for plastic) works great. But still the coolant is hard on these coatings. These windows are not cheap either
I thought about some rain X. Maybe I should put that on the left window to see. I had my shower windows ceramic coated and after neglect I had to buff those too. That’s how I realized I could buff my machine glass because I buffed my shower door. lol
@@SBSOLOCO if it's glass then get the glass that's for your showers. Rain x won't stick to it. It's a stupid smooth surface so there is no place for this stuff to stick. But Rain x absolutely works.... Ceramic detailer absolutely is better.. I use mother's Product No: 05764 Ultimate Hybrid Ceramic Spray. On everything. Walls, lights, paint and it does work great. Plexus works great too highly recommend it
how did the glass screen work out? can you see through it? Visibility is not so bad on a mill, but on a lathe sometimes I can see anything so wondering if the screen worked
So far it’s beading up pretty good but don’t have a lot of time on it yet. I’m interested myself how it will work on a lathe. I’m going to put one on my lathe and give it a shot.
Lucky for me I use anti rust spray and caked it on. Should be good. lol. I really think it’s from my indexer running on that right side for 2 years. I think it sacked that right side out.
Best video I've seen in a while thank you sir.
Thank you!

Hopefully it’s helpful in some way. Not really sure how they level a router since they are a gantry style machine. Good luck!
Check your spindle runout! Could be trowing off your measurement in this case. Cool honest video!:)

I worked on this on my machine yesterday, now I have some better information to finish the twist today. Thanks

Good video 👍
bar keepers' friend for the glass

good video,,thanks for your time
For sure.🤙
So what is the bed assembly seperate from the entire machine frame ?

Thank you! I just did a search and bought the biggest one that had good reviews on Prime. Around 45 bucks. I imagine they perform all the same. 🤙

Oh man, that’s dedication! I probably would have just poured self leveler on the table after 2 hours. 😂. I’m sure it will be way easier next time!
@@SBSOLOCO 🤣
The best thing for the windows is automotive wax. Turtle, wix mothers etc.
I wonder how the glass would fair if you hit it with some Rain-X or really went crazy and did a clay bar + ceramic coating.

@@RoboDrillerOn the newer machines like this one, the inside is glass and outside is poly. Double layer.

@@SBSOLOCO sweet. once you do, please let me know how it works out
You might have rust under your sub plate causing some lift. I've seen it happen with vises that are never removed.

i like to clean an dress my stones on the surface grinder. I can manage to get about 1/10000 out of my grinder.
here i am trying to get my mill +/- .00025.
