It's also in a sidequest in Yakuza 2, where Kiryu helps the original singer write this song. Not sure if it appeared in the remake or if it was also cut
It's a shame this game isn't popular enough in Europe... If only more people stopped thinking it's a GTA "Rip off" due to the fact it has a single mini map that doesn't even look like its from a GTA game, they would fall in love with the Ryu Ga Gotoku series. About half way through Yakuza you feel like a hard bastard bashing crust in but by the time you've finished at least one game you'll be in tears and know what it's like to be a man. Because I sure did. I hope someday in the future more people witness this masterpiece.
Here is a detail that you haven't noticed in the cinematic of this song. Kiryu is singing in a exhibition gala event. These kinds of festivals was popular back in the day and now it fazed out for like people think it is for ice skaters being unburden by competition. Kiryu is singing whatever he wants to and show his expressions and perform more personality. That is why to most people don't like this song because there is no rhythm or beats like friday night or machine gun kiss.
Damn, I heard this in Yakuza 2 before. In substory, where we need to defend one singer from some yakuza, and then, in Shellac, this song started playing. And then leader of this yakuza was thinking about his life and he decided to find job. I love this substory
---E oh this version is different from the album one! it leans more on the karaoke-like sound. still amazing though! and the little 'thank you very much" at the end is cute!
The only song I can do perfectly times because I practiced it so many times. I redownloaded Yakuza 3 after YEARS and I still know this song by heart. And I don't speak a word of Japanese. 😂😂
+Mark Bailey I agree, but the main reason it's known as being like GTA is because Sega advertised the first Yakuza game as "like Japanese GTA" which is super dumb, if its "like GTA" then why not just play GTA? It's Sega's fault for one of the worst marketing ideas in videogame history.
This is basically the first Yakuza karaoke song ever.
Yes
this one or majima no maji rock from PSP yakuza I think
@@adamrawiec1107 Kurohyou 2 came out 3 years after Yakuza 3, so that's not the case.
They love and hate each other but they're meant to be together
Honestly, it's crazy to me that Karaoke only got introduced in the third game. It seems like it's a part of the franchise tbh
The only acceptable Yakuza ship is Kiryu X Kamurocho
Whatever happens they always end up getting back together
Yeah right. Hahaha.
It's a love hate relationship...
Kiryu x Bike
Kiryrucho
1:15 i just love that tragic pose kiryu's doing like drama xd
I can't unsee this
Man Kiryu sings this song in every damn game and tbh I'll listen to it every time it's on
I mean i started the gauntlet from 0 a few months ago and am on 5 now, and this is the second time I've seen the song
@@LilT2o00 it's in 3,4 and 5. Did you play em all?

this song is SO underrated im obsessed with this shit

Yakuza 5 just been announced. Hope you help promoting it :)
I helped make the most recent GTA, and I absolutely love Ryu Ga Gotoku. I've been spreading the love. :)
+Mark Bailey (Majima1990): Are there any good playthroughs here on YT? can't play this on my laptop so I wanted to watch it instead.
Kaiser Paranoia "Strike Arranges" for Yakuza 1+2.
"Masamaki21" for 3 (w/commetary)
And "Two Best Friend" for 4 (w/commetary)
Hope it help. :)

It does have rhythm is just not consistent and I mean that as a good thing because its like changing with Kiryu's voice intentsity
Young people just don't like Enka in general. It's very old.
@@cypherusuh Thats really too bad because its a very nice sound
At frist i didnt like it, yet my love for the song started growing after my y4 playthrough, now it feels nostalgic, man y3 was good
I like it, it’s such a good beat and has good emotion. Too bad it’s too short
This is the moment that changed the Yakuza series forever. And boy howdy, it's a special moment.
I love how sweet and mellow Kiryu sounds here, after all the BS he'd been through.
ngl the VA has some great voice.
He is a musician after all and has a band
Before Bakamitai, this was Kiryu's leifmotif
This is literally me at 3am
So you get high by singing karaoke alone in your room in 3am and imagine yourself in a different dimension

I like that last shot when everything was over and the woman was like"what just happened? "

Yea, if it drops even a frame from the locked 30 or 60 fps, the game slows down dramatically. Man that was annoying
I'm listening to this while walking through Kabukicho right now
thats cool
Praising Kamurocho in Kabukicho sounds like a baller move
@@davenotstaine5646 It was/is. If you played the games, you can pretty much find your way around without a map.
the most underrated karaoke track
Thank you for uploading this. New fan of the seires, and trying learn every karaoke kiryu sung .While playing the seires in order.
This is like one of my favorites. I hope it comes back.
Just heard this in the sushi shop in Y0 and came looking for it. Such a beautiful song
Facts
the story behind this song is just as sad too
This is the best song performed by Kiryu
In my headcannon this is Kazuma Kiryus favorite song, because he could never find another bro to sing Judgment with up till after the events of 6
my all time favourite of all yakuza games
Damn
What a beautiful voice
he has a band
He is the exact opposite of Aggretsuko

Yakuza Collection!! 🔥
This song reminds me that I am single until now.
Peak song right here
I can't believe that this video is 9 years ago.
I first heard this song on the Sega Sound Unit [H.] album and it was Takenobu Mitsuyoshi on vocals.
Best singer ever!!!
Fun Fact: This song was originally in Yakuza 2 in the Substory "The Enka Life" where it was called "The Moonlit Snows of Kamurocho"

I can't tell whether the lack of textures in the cinematic was intentional or not.
In case you want a better rendition of the song, there's the version that appears in either Yakuza 1 or 2
This song makes me think about Bollywood drama movie's song for some reason
"I can't believe he didn't cry during Titanic!"
"Do men even have feelings?"
