    Awesome lesson dudes. I didn't know you could play multiple modes at the same time. Sean plays a mean Amin. Haha. Seriously, he has great rhythm. Ian, that last lead was sick! Now, off to play my guitar.

    This lesson was a mind blower! 🤯
    I know all 3 minor modes but have NEVER even thought to use them like this! Can more chords be added into the progression (if so which ones would be best) or does this sound best with just an A minor chord?

    Hi boys...I may have discovered what you're referring to by accident recently. I'm working on a project where, I play the melodies of a given song as if they were sung. So, I know what the key the song is in and, as I'm playing the melody, I realize that some of the notes of the melody fall outside of the given key. Is this the same thing? Thanks guys. :-)

    Hi Stich! Sean just played an A minor chord so we obviously have a lot of possibilities to throw in modal intervals. But what happens when we are in an aeolian chord progression? Are we still as free to throw in the b2 for example or will it sound weird? Thanks for this great lesson.

    • @alcurtis93
      @alcurtis93 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds cool if you throw it in as a passing tone for some tension

    • @brkfstchmp
      @brkfstchmp 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would be cautious on the ii°, v, or VII chords as have the natural 2nd. If you keep it passing on those, it'd sound just fine

    Hey dude didn’t you have a video about how chords are built?
    Where did that go?!
    I wanted go back and reference it but I can’t find it. . .

    • @StichMethodGuitar
      @StichMethodGuitar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a video about how chords connect. But I haven’t done a building chords video yet.

      StichMethod Guitar awe thanks for the reply dude. Maybe I’m mistaken and you mentioned how a chord is built while you were demonstrating something in a video.

    I mostly have no idea what I'm doing theory-wise. I trust my ears a little too much. Then Ian and Sean throw a lesson out there eloquently explaining my reckless improv habits in a super comprehensive way. Eventually, watching these theory based lessons will seep into my brain and the "why" I'm playing a note will come before the "where do I go next" panic sinks in.
    QUESTION FOR THE Q&A: I've found that improvising over suspended chords gives you a lot of risk taking freedom because you can imply major or minor as you feel out (listen to) your options to create tension or resolve. Is there a super mode application for suspended chords or is it just a free for all? (See! Right there! It almost sounds like I'm absorbing some of this!)

    Awesome lesson, totally fit the modes I am learning now by using you both guys videos. I am still lost though to know what the guy who plays the rythm (here Sean) can play. You re saying he is in Aminor. But the A minor can be in the second, third or sixth position right. Which means if he is in second position he could add G - Am - Bm - C - D - E#m- F#m7b5 chords right ?
    And If the Am Sean is playing is in the third then he can add F - Gm - Am- Bb - C - D#m - Ebm7b5 chords right ? And then doesn’t it influence the mode we can play ? (Hopefully I am clear...)
