Now I know you don't have to be older than someone to be more experienced but we know joel is more experienced. Let's talk durability joel has survived car crashes. Fell down a elevator shaft and slammed into the very bottom back first into water and shrugged it of. Got impaled by rebar and despite piercing all the way through him he then proceeded to take out his revolver and kill 2 raiders right as they go through the door. As well as being able to walk all the way out of the building to the horse. And even later on when joel was still recovering from his serious wound he not only killed multiple raiders but overpowered two who jumped him then proceeding to interrogate them and scare the souls out of them. Let's talk stealth. Joel has been shown to sneak past heavily military experienced soldiers and take them out. Abby I don't really know because I never played the second game. And their is the moment during this encounter where joel makes it inside the building walks into the room the sniper is in the corner and try's to stab joel. But joel manages to grab him by the arm flip the knife around and stab him to death in such a badass fashion. And that moment where joel opens the door leading into the office where robert is and catches on with the fact that he has a 9mm pistol and dodges the shot immediately. Let's talk accuracy while joel was hanging upside down he was able to kill 9 runners and 2 clickers with a revolver enough said. Last but not least let's talk endurance. Even while still recovering from his injury he was able to clear out a town worth of canibals despite still being in pain. Joel wins low difficulty.

He also literally survived a shotgun bullet close range to his leg. Joel is 💪 Abby literally lost to a couple of rattlers 💀 Joel would’ve beaten the living hell out of them. He also survived so many hits from a golf club to the HEAD and BODY but if Abby didn’t do the final hit then he would be still alive.
It barely takes him 3 seconds to kill someone with a clean fist, his punches don't even let his enemies react, and even at 52 years old he is faster than Abby and Ellie.
