"Back in the Corps we didn't have any smanchy pantsy tanks, we had 2 sticks and a rock for the Platoon, and we had to share that Rock." - Sargent Johnson, New Mombasa Covenant Invasion of Earth
Olivia's Mammoth was the highlight of this Op. I was honestly hoping they'd get it back up and running again. The fact it survived the nuke and when you were trying to set it to 0% health you just hear "Fuck you, Liru!" and then it instantly blows up after the server finally realizes it should have gone boom.
"Listen up marines. When I joined the corps we didn't have any fancy shmancy tanks. We had sticks. 2 sticks and a rock to rub together and we had to share the rock. Buck up boy. You're one very lucky Marine"
im studying for my G1 when I saw this on my feed, and literally screamed "finally!" This op was so much damn fun that Im probably gonna make a montage of pilot moments from it tomorrow!!!
Ramming should deprive the pilot of their flying licence. After all. The pilot died. But he might as well go out there and shoot stuff. Although we need pilots for reinserts. So presumably we should just go for a pilot ticket system? One pilot point per minute. Replace a pilot for 10. Replace a plane for 5.
I think aircraft tickets would be the best option. They only get a certain amount of aircraft respawns before they are SOOL and have to start doing ground vehicles or something instead, that way they'd be more cautious with their aircraft.
@@Kaiimei I think in these ops we expect some casualties. Thus my idea of tickets, where protecting their pilots is important. So bailing out and getting extracted by friendly ground troops can become a dynamic part of the game. Maybe pilots spawn point is beside wherever their last aircraft crashed? So getting back to the airfield is a challenge. Although sometimes we crash away from ground troops. So I suppose the pilot has to find his own way back to arrange extraction. And crashing in the water would suck. Whatever. I think they should be encouraged to bail out of their dying aircraft and try to find their way home safely for roleplay and gameplay reasons. And if all the pilots are down. Maybe they have to hitch a ride with a Jeep operated by someone in logistics. Aka the Zeus sends a bot to drive out and bring them home. In possibly multiple chunks.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 I think that's a decent idea, but these ops don't seem to have logistics really, the pilots pull double duties of dropping supplies off and being air support. A pilot who got shot down in the middle of nowhere probably shouldn't be extracted by air, because then a second aircraft is liable to be shot down. I think when an aircraft is destroyed the pilot should die with it and go back to the airfield, but they either have a limited amount of aircraft, or have to wait for a penalizing amount of time, one that increases as they rack up more deaths. So a pilot who only died once because of a mistake would be back in the air relatively quickly. One like Falcon, who pretty much throws themselves at every target they see, would quickly find themselves twiddling their thumbs back at base and reflecting on their gung-ho attitude towards survival. Whatever ends up happening, if anything, the pilots NEED to be penalized for being so lax about keeping themselves and their aircraft in the air. Just flying at an AA tank, blazing away at it with missiles and then ramming it should NEVER be something they consider to be a reasonable course of action.
@@Kaiimei so maybe a transport helicopter respawn time two minutes. An attack aircraft respawn 5 minutes. And a truck. Respawn 10 seconds. Keep the lads flowing to the front but no you won't get the fun toys back if you keep suiciding? Added bonus. When troops die they can help stock up the truck with ammo needed by the lads so we can supply enough bullets to the front. And If it dies because Arma. It won't be too hard to reload it and send a new one on its way with a driver.
Falcon, and the other air units, absolutely destroyed most of the fun. If I was participating in this and purchasing stuff, and that stuff got destroyed instantly due to something I'd almost consider an exploit (ramming and then being able to respawn a minute or so later), I wouldn't want to purchase anything else, I'd also feel cheated out of my money. The whole selling point of paying for units, is to see those units interact with all the players, I don't want to pay for an expensive and cool unit just to have it interact with 1 or 2 players. At least a lot of the stuff got refunded like the Sun Devil around the 55 minute mark, and Liru is upping the respawn time in later pay for pain sessions.
"When I joined the corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmancy tanks! We had sticks, two sticks and a rock for a whole platoon. And we had to share the rock! Buck up boy, you're one very lucky marine!" And that ending, what a pickup!
Best way to use plinco is with marbles less likely to get stuck or at least makes it lower cause only really depends on how many prongs there are and how big the marbles are
I know this was a while ago at t his point but I think falcon was blessed with vehicle respawns that are a bit to fast with how often he just decided to ram shit instead of try and survive lol
I thought so too but the infantry said they were fine, air apparently kept the OP shit at bay in their eyes when I took feedback so *shrug* in the future im jacking up the respawn time for the air vics by a factor of 3 at a minimum
I would like it if air had a penalty to pilot losses. Say being forced into ground pounder roles for a while. Particularly if doing silly things like ramming with their corpses. Also I'd love to see another op with proper testing at the start to drop comets of monsters. So if it works at point 1 and breaks later at least we've seen it
I have people that fear monger me and say I'm a complete jerk and I have people that say I'm too merciful. At this rate I don't know what to do, but as long as they keep coming back to play and I'm able to keep running operations to support this TH-cam career, I think I'm doing something right. However, this is paid for pain, and the viewer base has total control on how dicked the player base gets, but I will admit this one was a rather tame pay for paying compared to what I've seen in others. I'm going to host another one towards the end of this month, give more notice to both sides, probably keep it up tray themed, and be much more evil.
They put in jackals before grunts? That just... that just feels wrong. Also, yeah player air assets need some rules to go by. 9 times out of 10 if you give the players air vehicles, they just screw up everything. Those 3 or 4 players are having a blast sure, but you have how many ground forces which don't even get to see half of what you are throwing at them because air snipes them the moment it is spawned in.
There's no point of having AA in an op like this if the player vehicles respawn in 90 seconds. Like the man said, _"It's easier to crash and respawn."_

Seems plenty other folks agree with me that watching a Liru struggle to kill the damn thing was fuckin hilarious!
My disappointment that the flood things failed to work was immeasurable.
I cannot fathom the disappointment of the Liru.
It hurts but I'm used to Arma doing shit like this ngl
@@LirutheLanceCorporal _The fact you are USED to that level of disappointment on the regular is a saddening fate itself._

Nah he only gives them 20% of what they give him

if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's probably because jackals are closer to humanoid
I just stumbled onto this vid and this mod looks like so much fun. I need to try and get in on an op like this
"You guys are dumber than a sack of turnips". Lol, Difference is, turnips might actually be useful, and tougher
if I'd been there and been able to I'd have given Falcon a Sparrow Hawk and told him he only gets ONE so don't suicide/crash it
i think all of Liru's content should be like this XD. joking of course
My boat don't want none if you ain't got guns hun
