Thank you, prof Nunnally, for your great work - and pushing back false theories, false teaching, in the otherwise exciting and important study of Jewish roots. Thank you for your great teaching and your defense of the Words of the Bible. From a former student :) Ellen Hessellund, Denmark
Personally I like the midgal eder version. It could be as real as the very catholic nativity story we get every single year. As there are a lot of things unsaid in the Bible, there’s no reason why this version couldn’t be real. For me this version adds so much complexity in life to it just as we know who God is and how he operates. With layers and plans with plans, complexity and ideas and thoughts we above ours. Whereas the nativity version it’s just flat, no life just empty.
He just doesn't get it. Micah 4:8 clearly states that the location of the arrival ("...it will come") of the King's "dominion" (the culmination of the Davidic line in Messiah) is at Migdal Eder, the Tower of The Flock. This cites a specific location, near Bethlehem, and must not be generalized as a reference to Israel. Yes, "migdal" and "edar" are used separately elsewhere is the OT, but here they are used together, thus referring to a specific place. To equate Migdal Eder with all of Israel or even to Jerusalem (Zion) would be like saying that New York City equates with all of America. Is Evangel U. really liberal, or is Dr. Nunnally's Judaistic leaning clearly influencing how he reads, or what he reads into, OT prophesy?
Have you ever studied Genesis 35? How about Genesis 22 or Genesis 3:15 and 21! God provided coats of skins for Adam and Eve and the blood was shed! John the baptist sees Jesus coming for baptism and calls him - The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29,36) Where else would the Lamb of God be born if not where the Passover lambs were born! Micah 4:8 is a reference to where the lamb of God would be born! Then 5;2 Micah announces Bethlehem(House of bread) Ephratha(Broken), where else could the bread of life (John 6:35), who would be broken for our sins , be born than where the lambs for sacrifice would be wrapped and lain in the manger? I believe you are wrong, for Jesus said search the scriptures for they testify of me! John 5:39! And in Psalm 40;7 and Hebrews 10;7 it is written, in the volume of the scriptures they testify of Jesus' coming!
Thank you for the exposition. Migdal Eder may or may not be the place of our Savior's birthplace, but yess we need to stick on the evidence for this time being. Later when we meet him vis-a-vis we may ask him this.. if we are still interested. Cheers from Indonesia.
You are not convincing me…scripture doesn’t give us any information where the manger was located…my guess is as good as yours…you didn’t tell how the shepherds found the babe so quickly in the middle of the night…hummm

Cloths, not clothes which the description says

Good Ole Edersheim 😬 The text is intriguing enough without adding to it, in my opinion! 😐
I see you know nothing about the history of scriptures from Constantine to Jerome to Erasmus. You are teaching Christian Roman cover-ups.
