Tosti - Malia / Ivanna Speranza & Enrica Ciccarelli.

The Argentine soprano of Italian origins Ivanna Speranza and the pianist Enrica Ciccarelli propose a "female" selection of the works of Francesco Paolo Tosti who has left us a corpus of more than 500 romances for voice and piano. The two artists aim to maintain the "popular" roots of these songs by enhancing their eminently Italian writing.
Tosti is remembered for his light, expressive songs, which are characterised by natural, singable melodies and sweet sentimentality. He is also known for his editions of Italian folk songs. The lyrics of which are by the prominent Neapolitan dialect poet, Salvatore Di Giacomo. "Malia", "Ancora" and "Non t'amo piú" were and remain popular concert pieces.
