The song played during his flight "Kaise Mujhe " is one of the sweetest and emotional song in Bollywood. It still makes me cry. It was the first song in my life which I declared as my favorite and will never forget the lyrics 🥺🥺🥺

If you noticed when kalpana gave that money to Sanjay, he kept that money with himself in the whole journey, he kept it close to his heart ❤️ man this movie
She didn't call the cops coz they were too corrupt and involved with Ghajini that's the reason why that honest lady constable was trying to help her. The fact that she never got to know his true identity is so damn painful.
She could have contacted sanjay he was a millionaire and could have contacts with the police to help her. Real sanjay had to go but if she could have told either sachin(pretending to be sanjay) or try to contact sanjay via his manager she could have saved herself.

My biggest trauma from this movie is that she never gets to find out his reality, i was very young when i first watched it in theatres and i remember being sad for a lot of days just because of her death scene and her never finding out
I also cried on the same scene as Jaby (when Kalpana gives money to Sanjay after seeling her dream car). The goodness of her heart touches you😢

I watched this movie on NATIONAL in 2009 on Sunday. This is the first movie in my life that made me cry though at that time I didn’t know a single word of Hindi. Kalpana's death scene was in my mind for few weeks. I am sure everyone had that felling. 😪
There is always that one movie from your childhood where you want to go in and change or stop things. This one is that movie for me.
The fact that Sanjana never knew Sachin was Sanjay would always make me sad. And of course her tragic death.
Most beautiful and pure love story...no ego, no nagging, no cheating..just respect and love for each other
Sitaramam and this story are the best love stories..but sadly both didnt had happy ending...

Fun fact: India actually never had a centralised emergency helpline number until very recently (now 112). We could dial 100 for police emergencies for a long time but I'm not completely sure if that network included many regional police stations back in 2005 and before. Local regional police were still only accessible by regular landline numbers for a long time.
Emergency helplines here were infamous for their late response anyway which is why it's highly unlikely you'll ever really see anyone "calling a 911" during an emergency in most early Indian movies.

6:06 Aamir Khan said this multiple times that he did this movie only for Kalpana's character b'coz she wins you over. This scene is the reason he did the film. For the incomplete love story.

The remake was very well done. In the Tamil movie, Ghajini was not the villian's name. It's the metaphor about Mohd. Ghajini's. It portrayed hero's unwavering attempts in searching the Villian. In Hindi, they thought it's too much complex to normal audience and they somewhat simplified that. Climax was even better in the remake and it was pretty emotional as well.
So they thought hindi people are dumb. Ofcourse. Tamilians are like that sometimes, sadly.

I got tears in eyes after Kalpana's gruesome death ..but after completing the Film when i rewatched that scene when Sanjay after gifting flat to Kalpana .. Kalpana was powerless and didn't called the cops because the policemen were also involved with those goons.. like police hiding the truth of those 2 missing girls and then that constable lady was helpless because of the involvement of higher authorities so she resolved to calling and alerting kalapana but to no vain..
I haven't seen this movie in so long but I started crying watching the scene of her death but I couldn't help but laugh at the zoom into Syntell's face so thanks for that I guess 🤦🏾♀️😂

He wouldn't. Because Nolan works hard on the technical accuracy, and this movie doesn't have that. If Nolan wanted to put cheesy comedy in a movie, he certainly could have. He didn't because his target audience was different. This movie was made keeping Indian audience in mind.

Those are Army (Military) and not police. Army do travel through train booking the whole Cabin/Bogey.
On this part of the story Kalpan was so lucky in some of there incident like Army in the train scene and lights go off when bad guys reached her place because there are some big ups and downs in there luck at the end she died.

I remember the first time I watched this movie. I ended up watching it 5 more times within the next 24h. My younger cousin started screaming when this scene happened again and my aunt scolded me saying I was being weird repeatedly watching her death scene like that. I actually really like it as a love story.
