The ride is definitely made for those who do not like extreme coasters (like me). It’s got no crazy loops or corkscrews. Just good speed and small surprises. Long line but worth the wait!
Agreed I genuinely have a fear of coasters cause of all the feelings and the heights but this ride is perfect. It’s thrilling but not to scary.
Big roller coasters are just intimidating is all. The anticipation is always the worst part. But once on it, it's awesome. It's like when you're in that friend's fast car when entering the freeway and you speed up.
I waited 90 minutes on this, but i was so lucky to be able to sit front row on the bike car at sunset (almost night). It's the best way to ride this. I almost didn't get to be able to until someone asked if i could take their spot so they could sit with their sibling!
Honestly the best ride in the park. ♥️
Can't wait to ride this one in person. That poor unicorn needs new clothes! Perhaps a size down?
Make sure to ride on the motor bike side it’s more fun. Your a lot more open
When i start to miss universal studios, i go and watch povs. It makes me happy 😊 This is my all time favorite ride!
One of my favorite rollercoasters! I was riding it blind and the elevator drop scared me a little it’s really fun tho it’s surprising
I wore my sunglasses on this. It felt great!
Best ride ever created. Nothing comes close to this.
@@paw9213 VC is great as well. Hagrids just seems a little more special.
Hands down best ride I’ve been on, may not look fast but has a good kick in real life!!!!
Rode it for the first time to day I am shocked on how good that ride is
Just so much fun icl with that many launches, swooping turns. Especially when I got a ride on the motorbike ( my dad let me 😂 )
Just recently went on that ride (my 3rd roller coaster ever and it’s my absolute favorite I left so happy)
Saw this thing recently on my high school senior trip. There was no way you'd see me waiting 3 hours for it. That's how long the wait was when I saw it.
It's the parks most popular ride, so always draws the biggest crowd. It was around 40 minutes when we visited. Depending on what time of year you go, the line can get much shorter 🙂
me and my brother waited 3 hours opening weekend, got to the front and the ride broke down, waited 3 more hours for it to come back up but it never did so we just left
this is one of my favorite rides ever! and this is probably the best pov anyone could find!
THAT’S WHAT I DID? I rode this in November on the last ride of the night . It was nearly pitch black which really added to hagrid’s “uh oh” right before the tracks end. Honestly glad I couldn’t see the part coming like you’re supposed to. Definitely recommend this ride!
We thought it was fun too, but haven't yet had the chance to ride in pitch black!
I'm still a little dizzy from riding this ride about 50 minutes ago. Those launches are great!
Bro that ride was so fire I was laughing so hard and that drop was unexpected bro oh man what a ride
Nice long ride. 😊
Yeah, it really is. It's definitely an experience, the theming is incredible 🙂
That looks like a lot of fun. Also, the set and the setting are beautiful.
Oh it is, one of the best coasters of its kind honestly. Basically anybody can ride it, the speed boosters add some great energy to it, and the surprises are the cherry on top.
Love Harry Potter ❤been a fan for a long time now love hagrid’s ride so fun 😊
Can’t wait to ride this in a couple weeks when I come to Orlando soon!! Great video!! It seems difficult to record this one as the ride is a little intense!!
Thank you 🙂 Pretty sure you'll love it. It doesn't have the intensity of Velocicoaster, but the theming and story telling throughout the ride more than make up for it.
I rode this Ride, it’s not that intense but I really love the theming and the launches.
It was so dark in that cave. I didn't know it had an elevator drop till I saw a video. So for any of you scared of that, you feel absolutely nothing.
Rode this last summer and I thought the ride was over with so I got all relaxed and then it just dropped all of a sudden and I completely locked up for a second 😂
😂 The vertical drop takes a lot of people by suprise if they don't know the ride.
This ride is amazing, and also even more immersive if you get to ride it at night!
I hate coasters but got brave today bc my 7 yo daughter wanted mom to ride with her, not just dad. I loved it. Hubs and daughter were low-key traumatized, though, ironically. Turns out maybe I do like coasters with speed, sharp turns and no huge drops.😂 Just a note: I sat in the side car bc i have a physical disability. I'm only 4'10“ and I barely fit.
rode this the week it came out, ended up waiting for 8.5 hours but it was totally worth it
@@XtremeCoastersyeah I got on in 1 hour this year but when I went four years ago to Orlando I waited 5hrs 40 minutes and didn’t go on because the weather was hammering down and the ride shut just narrowly before I got to go on 😤🤣
@@XtremeCoastersI was so devestated at the time ibr, but I’m glad I’ve got on now because it was a lot of fun
Looks like lotsa fun. About the coasters that take you to a certain point, reverse, then take you to another point, I don't like the possibility of a track malfunction on these kinds of rides, though. Don't think I wanna take that chance! 🙀
There is no possibility it could happen. If, for whatever reason the switch track did fail, the train would be brought to a standstill before it got anywhere near the open section of track. There are a lot of fail-safes in place 🙂
I went on this one with my math teacher on my Islands of Adventure field trip
I mean this ride was the most PACKED last Christmas. 2 to 3 hrs of waiting
Best time to hit this ride has to be lunch time, around 11-2 PM. Got on it today, front row, only 75 min wait which isn’t bad at all for hagrids.
I wonder if I can handle this ride. Big Thunder Mountain over in DW makes me a bit nauseous with all the twists and turns.
You should be fine. It starts off quite slow, gradually getting faster as the ride progresses. So by the time you get to the final (fastest) launch, you've got used to it.
I got motion sick when I rode this and that's because I was sitting in the back row what a coincidence didn't get motion sick the first time I rode it
What a shame. The back seat on many coasters is always the most intense. You should try the front seat to see if it makes any difference.
@@XtremeCoasters I was in the front seat the first time and did not get motion sick
@@NoahHannifan Ah OK, some people just don't like riding in the back seat. At least you now know to stick towards the front of the train 🙂
Wait so that last big “hill” before it goes in reverse, once you come back you never go up it? Please help me cause I don’t big rollercoasters but I would do this as long as you don’t go up that big “hill” that you start to go up and then go backwards?
This isn't a roller coaster full of big drops. The vertical spike (where you go up, then go back down into reverse) is the highest point of the ride 🙂
Hey xtreeme did you k in night time it’s a lot faster ( it must be near closing time )
It was definitely running faster when we filmed this compared to our morning ride 🙂
Just curious, how many trains can they run at one time, seems like 3?
I watched a how it works video that said it runs 7 trains at time!! Just rode it yesterday it was amazing
It wasn't open two years ago when I went! 😡 that was the only ride we weren't able to ride
Can someone please tell me how big the drop is in the dark. I hate the straight downwards drops 😭
@-Leah- It's just under 17ft. But you only drop around 4ft at full speed, the drop track then starts to slow down, so it's not bad.
I think me and my dad are going to go here next week so about this ride do you feel the drop or no? 😅
Not really. It's a very small drop. It's over before you realise it's started.
I went to universal for a day but this ride was closed 😢
Oh dear 😟 Ride closures aren't the best. Hopefully, you'll get to ride on your next visit 🙂
Would this be considered a medium thrill ride? We are going in December and my eight year old daughter may be hesitant to ride it
Yes, it's definitely aimed at a family audience. The launches aren't too forceful, and there are plenty of slower moments to give less experienced riders time to catch their breath 🙂
Just took my 8 year old on it last week and she loved it so much. We also got my 11 year old who is normally pretty scared of coasters to give it a try and she also loved it. There’s no crazy dips or flips. It does go fast at some points though but it’s not so bad.
@@Theworldisfullofmonsters the part where it goes backwards do you feel it !!?
r.i.p. robbie coltrane aka hagrid :(
@@XtremeCoasters now hes with richard harris, robert hardy, helen mccrory, john hurt & alan rickman again
Has anyone rode this ride with only one cart? As in just you and another person? I did and now I only see it with the whole train. Is this abnormal?
That is very abnormal. If anything you may see one of the rows unfilled but otherwise each train is completely full to get as much capacity as possible. I'm guessing something abnormal happened somewhere before you boarded the ride vehicle.
Been to universal three times and never been on it the line is always insane or it’s broken😂
It's worth the wait, even if you only get to experience it the once 🙂Thankfully, the downtime is now far less frequent now.
2:28 No one ever says it!
No one ever says “LUMOS SOLEM”, even after they are specifically being instructed to by Hagrid! Same deal with Forbidden Journey, no one says “Observatory” before the floo powder drops, and yet it still works anyway!
How was that more expensive this Disney’s expedition Everest
Because it has a dozen trains, all with capacitors charging stations, lights and sound, however, many launches, animatronics, a drop section, all the theming, all the trees and planting and buildings they had to make and plant. The list goes on.
@@andersonroofing589 Everything he said, plus all the on the fly switch tracks which is why you never have to wait for a track to switch unlike Expedition Everest. I believe this was one of the first if not the first coaster to get this new technology from Intamin. There's also no chain pulls as Hagrid's uses LSM technology for all of its launches which further complicates things as its one of the few multi-launch coasters (as in more than just 1 or 2). There's a ton of new tech in this coaster and it's one of the most complicated coasters to run because of all its features and tech. It's incredibly difficult to have 10 trains on the track at once all in motion with the multiple launches, brake runs, track switching, drop tracks, loading and unloading area that never stops, etc. Sometimes when the train doesn't take off at a brake run it's because something ahead is causing the train to not take off like a stoppage at the loading area is the most common (caused by a guest usually).
@@andersonroofing589 I know, but expidition everest has theming, trees, a 200 feet mountain, a yeti, lights, a backwards section, drop, waterfalls which probably are really costly to maintain, the list goes on.
Someone told me this is illegal to film is that true?
If you're holding a loose item like a mobile phone or camera, then absolutely. We had a GoPro, which was double locked, strapped onto our hand with triple hand straps, so they didn't seem to mind.
as cool as this looks, nothing will compare to dueling dragons 😢
I rode this ride once and I’m probably gonna trigger a lot of people but… I HATED IT
I can’t believe they tore down Dueling Dragons for this lame kiddie coaster with papier mache-looking “goblins.”
They built velocicoaster as a replacement thrill ride if you don’t like this one
This ride is lame. They tore down a great coaster for this kiddie ride. Plus you can’t use your fast pass on it.
Yeah you can't use your Express Pass on it because it's the most popular coaster in all of UO hands down since its opening in 2018. Far far more popular than Dueling Dragons ever was. I'd say it was a good replacement. The wait time is almost never lower than 60-80 minutes so imagine how long the wait would be if it offered express. Even VelociCoaster has long wait times most days now because Express is now offered on it.
the wait for this was unbearable almost 2 hours but i got to sit front row and it was night time. best ride ever
There isn’t a video I’ve found yet that really shows how fast this thing feels lol the drop that goes through the archway looked tiny in this video also
😂 A video can only do so much. Nothing will ever compare to the experience of actually riding it.
No one understands how immersive this ride is. It’s crazy. The animatronics, and the track dynamic. It even drops a whole track section with the train. Heard it cost 100 million to make
Jesus Christ I stand corrected 300 million to make my god
It cost a total of $300 million, so is by far the world's most expensive roller coaster. It definitely has a lot of tricks up it's sleeve, 7 launches, a vertical drop track, a live switch track element, and vertical rollback. While the coaster itself isn't the most intense (it wasn't supposed to be), there aren't too many other outdoor coasters that can compete with the immersive storytelling and theming.
@taylordoesedits Yes, you're correct. Didn't know abut the cost of Cosmic Rewind. It's a great experience, we really enjoyed it. Hopefully you will too, have fun 😀
I feel the cost is worth it in my opinion
@@XtremeCoastersit used to be the most expensive but now that is the guardians of the galaxy ride at Epcot Orlando as that cost 500 million to make
