Footage from the 2012 Beat the Streets Gala: Grapple in the Big Apple event that took place in Times Square, New York and aired on NBC Sports. This is the 74KG match between Jordan Burroughs (USA) & Kamal Malikov (RUS).
its just amazing to see burroughs able to drive so effectively, even from his knees...
Most would agree that it is horrible technique but burroughs pulls it off amazingly.
He fucking killed him in the first period
Wow.. The man is my motivation and idol..
agree. i've watched tons of wrestling over my years and his double leg is one of the best i've seen. Stephen Neal had a monster double especially in 1999 winning that world title.
Micheal Jordan is the Jordan Burroughs of basketball.
If Burroughs wrestled everyone like he did that first guy, very few people if anyone could take him. This is an excellent example of Burroughs scoring ability, if he’s on his A game, he can tech fall just about anyone
He beat the top Russian, Denis Tsargush not once but twice, even at the Olympics Jordan Borroughs won Olympic gold at 74 kilos.
I love the double leg.. But Jordan Burroughs is one of a kind with it. Lol
My Man doing what he does best !
Welcome to the greatest sport in the world.
Damn he is a absolute BEAST
It's seems Kamal Malikov has watched this video
can anyone tell me the name of the song and artist in the beginning!!?!?!?
I looked it up, and it said 5'10 on usa wrestling's website
Anyone know the intro song for all these videos? Please help? :/
Beast!
HOW DO YOU WRESTLE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL WITHOUT GOING TO COLLEGE?
I met Burroughs in person this summer at Nebraska camp. There's no way in hell he's 5'10. 5'7-5'8 sounds right to me. Plus hes very thick.
Yeah. I think it's new freestyle rules- if you push your opponent out, it scores like a takedown.
Look it up. go on themat.com, then click on National Teams.
My idol
Dude, your bias is showing. You said Saitiev was "quite old" (he was 29) when he got embarrassed up by a 19 year old Tsargush. And in the same breath, you talk about his match with a 35 year old semi-retired Kenny Monday? LOL Kenny's prime in the 1980's. He retired in '92 and came back after a gap of 4 years just to compete in the 96 olympics. There is a 14 year age difference between those two, and Saitiev was in his early 20's when they wrestled against each other. Stupid comparison.
is Jordan wearing matflex's?
did you look it up?
Brandon Slay > Buvaisar Saitiev
Jordan Burroughs>Denis Tsargush>Adam Satiev
Cael Sanderson > Adam Saitiev
See a pattern?
and lastly: speed kills. IMO Jordan is a better athlete (faster, stronger and better timing) than both prime Kenny Monday and 2000 Brandon Slay. Simply having "more technique" isn't gonna stop you from getting run over by Burroughs double or from getting pushed out of bounds like a child. Like I said Slay has already showed us a blueprint to beat prime Saitiev. Nobody has figured Burroughs out yet.
Это купленная схватка или что?
haha this looks like Tekken with the people in the background.
BANG! BANG!
JBs my friggin idol
If a defensive magician like Tsargush couldn't stop Burrough's doubles, what makes you think either Saitiev could? Saitiev's funky style wouldn't work against an explosive, pump fake wrestler in Burroughs with excellent mat awareness. Styles make fights. Brandon Slay (Jordan's coach) proved this in 2000.
As accomplished as Saitievs are, a prime Tsargush would have beaten both. A 19 year old Tsargush almost beat Buvaisar at the 07 Nationals (?v=L2rKctnSlb0) and hes been beating Adam ever since.
Firstly, do you know who you're talking about? Not the guy in the video. Saitiev is a 3x Olympic champion meaning that he won the Olympics as an old man. Burroughs has won the Olympics ONCE in his prime. Secondly, Saitiev has beaten wrestlers far more explosive and technical than Burroughs so you should do some research before you talk. I think Burroughs is great and everything but he wouldn't be able to beat Saitiev in his prime.
And as far as Saitiev having more freestyle technique then Jordan? No kidding. Americans grow up learning folkstyle while
wrestlers abroad focus on freestyle or greco. I bet Burroughs would destroy the Saitiev bros on the same night in a folkstyle match, it wouldn't be competitive.
IMO the fast learning curve and versatility Burroughs has shown by conquering two vastly different styles (winning the NCAA's and World's in the same year) is much more impressive than focusing on just one style.
30 fuckin SECONDS!!!!!! Jebus Jordon was in beast mode
Yes, in both freestyle and Greco forcing your opponent out of bounds gets you 1 point.
Freakin Beast!!!!
kamal and his 2 coaches that were there XD
Камал 💪🦁👍
Ма Ша АЛЛАГЬ 🤲
thats cuz unlike tsargush, malikov doesn't grab singlets, pull hair or whine to the refs every 2 mins
I mat my baby jordan for the forst time in wibslow took pics with him n i asked him can i wrestle him n he said nope... Love dat guy he from psection in sicklerville shout out to sicklerville ps i braggin n i got his utergraf
Don't ever compare Jordan Burroughs to Mike Vick.
yessir
but why would someone with Jordan's caliber wear those shoes. well i guess its his choice in the end.
yes he did beat Tsargush but they went in 3 rounds so it was not as bad as Malikov. and i believe Tsargush will beat buroughs next time
goood matches but Malikov isn't top in russia he is like 5th 6th and in 2011 he got bronze. i wanna see his match against Irbek Farniev or Mahach Murtazaliev. especially Farniev because he is as explosive as Buroughs but not as lucky
No. Slay was nor ever will be better than Saitiev, just because you win one match against someone and then retire does not make you better than them but that is besides the fact. We could play this game all day where we pair up russians and americans but I prefer to give respect where respect is due and leave it at that.
blip bloop blap blitty blap boop boop
Dude, have you not seen Saitiev vs. Kenny Monday? Saitiev may get hit by one or two doubles but he was far more technical than Jordan ever will be... Slay was bigger and stronger than Saitiev and it still took him a hail mary shot to finish the match, Saitiev has always wanted a rematch with him but Slay retired shortly after. As for Tsargush, yes he is good but i'll say again Saitiev got quite old.. his prime was about 10-15 years ago at least it's his technical skill that won him matches
Um all the rule changes for international wrestling dictated in the USA and USA Wrestling federation are basically set by European rules...predominantly the Russians.
Wow...
Double! restart. Double! restart. Double!
5'7"
no chance 4 russian wrestler
I wrestle for the thrill of it.
I doubt 200, more like 185-190. Remember he cuts weight.

if Russian bring Buvaysar Saytiev from russia 3x olimpic gold medalist he would kick Jordon Burroughs ass

@misscherribaby100 damn learn proper grammar. Smh. JB is the man
To5ov
Yuhj
maybe us eats too much steroids... but russians not alloweded eat them now
poor russians
I was gonna comment exactly this
No mike vick sucks. He is the Usain Bolt of wrestling
Jordan got beat in 2016 Olympics 2 times one is tech then he got pined
He also said he had a terrible tournament. What's he done before, and since?
What have you done, ever?
Wrong. JB had a close match where he lost by 1 point to the guy that ended up winning silver. But the match was so exhausting that both of them had nothing left in the tank for their next match. And talking about getting pinned, not sure where you got that from. Burroughs has never been pinned in his career that I'm aware of. Even the last match I was talking about was the only time he lost by tech fall.
New to wrestling here. Did he score points by pushing his opponent out of the ring?
