A waterproof jacket is dinitely better than a poncho in the wind, particularly at the summit. Completed the YTP twice this year.

LIP BALM! if you've ever started getting chaffed half way through a walk/run you know any kind of balm/vasaline/moisturizer will make it's a non problem

Hey Matt...do you walk with the ankle supports on or take them as back up?

What footwear would you recommend please? Are boots essential? Thank you!

I'm currently using the Altra Lonepeak 5.0 trail running shoes. Although on this trail I actually used the Altra Lonepeak 4.0. Amazing shoes and great for this hike as the whole route is along trails so you don't really need hiking boots! Good luck with your trip :)

Just done this last week. I would recommend boots, rather than trainers. The reason would be for the ankle support. The path in several areas is rocky and uneven, with some really gruelling descents. I went in leather boots, which considering the recent weather was a good choice, but in warmer seasons lighter goretex type boots would be beneficial, as by the last few miles your feet will feel heavy. I was glad of the ankle support, as it is easy to loose your footing in many places. If you haven't done it already, you will see people in allsorts of kit, but mostly under prepared.

Hi. I'm doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks on Saturday. Is it hard? I'm 9 years old. I'll be going live on my channel.

Great video, some really good shots in there - what camera and editing software are you using? I have just done a 3 peaks video would appreciate if you could check it out and leave any feedback. Keep up the good work! I’ll make sure to subscribe 😊

Sorry for the late reply! Thanks for watching :). I used GoPro Hero 7 Black and iMovie for this. Really basic stuff to get me started. Recently made a big upgrade to Sony A6400 camera with a 16-105 lens and have got some amazing footage coming soon. Thanks for the sub!

Very good idea to help people with what they do/don't need, ive done the 3 peaks and agree that you don't need to take huge amounts of kit with you on a challenge like this. Check out my 3 peaks video, subscribed. Stay safe Stu
