      why does the western version even exist... so many outdated they can't even add the DX to the menu since outside Asia no one got DX for FT and of course no English subs since X. Owell... I wish I could have one of your controller but I'm poor AF and maybe ...worse off soon I just got FT DX I'm not the best player but I have never played the arcade version despite a game place near me having them but now closed to current events.

    I have such a controller for the Nintendo Switch, and very often button presses are not counted, mainly on the buttons "B" and "A". This makes me very upset because it prevents me from playing normally. I watched videos of other people and they have exactly the same problems. Does this mean that a few people are just out of luck with this controller? (

      I haven't had any problems with the 2020 controllers.
      Did you try reseating the button? Take the A and B buttons off and click it back in. Maybe check for dust built up inside the cups.
      Also make sure the surface the controller sits on is not too soft. I had better performance on the ground than on a bed.
      I had that issue with the full sized project diva F controller but after taking the button off and putting it back on it worked properly again.

    Great video! I just got mine for PS4, initial test with TV speakers went very well, but suddenly with using the headphone jack on the controller there seemed like a crazy delay, I was worried for a sec, but after a search landeded me here I see that the jack on the controller is just not recommended to use. Shame, it was such a nice addition, but I have a headset with a nice long cable so it's not a huge issue
    Just a couple questions: what do you usually have your lag offset to when using the dedicated controller for PS4? I can't seem to nail the best setting down (I'm on a monitor as a display, almost no lag there)
    Second, my button caps don't seem to come off! I've pressed them down and rotated counterclockwise but they don't click to the right and come out like yours. Any idea why that is? Granted, I haven't pushed that hard because I don't want to break it...
    It's not a huge deal, the buttons all seem to be working just fine, I just noticed my O was a little wobblier than the others and wanted to see if taking it off and popping it back on would help.

    • @zedamex
      @zedamex  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rely on the TV having low lag and just keep it at 0 in game. You could try the timing adjust feature where you hit the button to a beat for it to try help you determine any delay.
      For the buttons, push down and twist counter clockwise to pop them off. Don't force it off course. Although at first it almost feels like your about to break plastic when doing it (it'll be quite a hard click but not like something bent or snapped). But I've done it a couple of dozen times without issue. I guess if you don't feel right, just don't do it.

    • @CloudyObsession
      @CloudyObsession 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zedamex My display has basically no lag, I always keep it at zero with a Dualshock4, but it feels just a little off with the Hori controller on some songs, like I have to hit the button just a tiny bit early to register proper in-game timing. I've tried the built-in calibration but it's terrible, it always gives me wildly different results and every time I've tried to use over the last several years to adjust for a different display (like at a friend's place) with significant lag, it's been no help at all, so I don't really think it helps much in -any- scenario, unfortunately. Part of why I'm asking is because testing with different manual adjustments seems to give pretty different results itself between songs. Playing Slump (Hard) gives me the best results at 0, but playing Teo (Hard) gives me the best results at like, -5. Granted, this is just from the first day of playing after getting it, and mostly using built-in speakers on the display, I still need to try it out with my USB headset plugged directly into the PS4 (it's also possible that Teo itself, being a recent DLC song, is just a little off and needs to be patched).
      As for the button caps, I'll probably just leave them alone, don't have much reason to pop them off for the moment at least

    • @zedamex
      @zedamex  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you need to sample more notes. It should be endless and average it out.
      A ran their timing tool several times and averaged the results. It gives an indication but not a clear answer.
      If most songs feel good I'd be more inclined to think my belief of the timing is out or the song needs patching. It wouldn't be the controller.
      I feel more accurate with the big buttons but yeah. PS4 dualshock (both pre and post 2016) have the same input lag as hori.
      But actually their headphone jacks add more delay than hori does

    a quick question, but if we wanted to use PS facebuttons on a switch controller, we’d have to get the PS4 one too so we could swap them out right? or would it be more reasonable to just try printing the facebuttons and mod it that way since they can be removed

    • @zedamex
      @zedamex  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's easiest but definitely not the cheapest approach. It's very likely that you can print your own, I put minimal effort in removing one of the plastic disks that have the face buttons in the dome, and it looks like enough pressure from the inside might be enough to be able to prop the disks out. But I don't want to crack/break the domes. Referring to 11:30 mark.

    • @chiesatonaka877
      @chiesatonaka877 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah!! i looked at that in the vid, maybe printing them out would be easier, especially if it’s a case where someone has a switch, but no PS4, since the PS4 ver doesn’t connect/register to switch and vice versa.
