I’m 68 years old and have been to Disneyworld at least 10 times over the years. The first time was 1973, last time was 2005. I watch these videos about the Disney parks now and am disgusted by Disney’s $$$ greed. This is no longer a treat that the average family can afford. Shame on them!
What do they do about the volume of people wanting to go and are willing to pay? If they make things cheap, then they'll have even more people lined up to go. Higher prices helps to reduce volume. You could make entry based on a lottery, but other places have tried such things and it leads to professional resellers (there's always a way) buying up the lottery spots and then being able to set prices themselves.
The issue is that there are far too many people these days who go to places. Almost everything from before 2000 has been ruined and over crowded. I have never been to one of these places and probably never will because of the lines and large wait times. I am not going to a expensive place to just have 2 rides because I did that back in 2011 with a theme park. Even at my local McDonalds I got a 50 minute wait time on average.
@@staticbuilds7613I've been to Disneyland quite a bit. While the waits can be awhile, if someone tells you they only got 2 rides done all day long, especially if they arrived first thing in the morning and stayed all day, they're lying to you. Most rides have an average of 30-45 minutes with the exception of the big rides like Radiatior Springs Racers or Rise of the Resistance, which tend to run 60-100 minutes. It is a wait for sure, but you're definitely able to do way more than 2 rides.
I'm only in my 60s but I feel the same way. I don't understand why anyone goes just to be shaken by the ankles for all the money in their pockets and abused for days.
One thing to add on the original Fast Pass is that we all felt that it was part of the ticket we purchased for the day. Using the Fast Pass just made the day more fun because you could coordinate your rides and spend less time in lines on the “big” rides. Disney was using FP for people management back then. To me, the whole Genie app is just a rip off by making me pay for what was once part of my ticket price. AND they added “pay for ride” lightning lanes to “big” rides like Radiator Springs Racers. Now we are back to 90 min waits on that ride because Genie does nothing for that ride. Every change Disney makes to the ride system does not make my experience better and it costs more.
@@firestorm-qd3tm Right, because we want to get the most out of the day and ticket we already paid for..It’s like the airlines! Your seat costs this much, but if you want to bring bags it’s another $50. Do you want to sit with your family? (Or take the single rider all day?) @@firestorm-qd3tmIt actually isn’t, maybe for you though. Without it you can’t get through all the rides in a park at Disney World, Magic Kingdom won’t even be able to do it in 2. So forms I need it and it’s for it. However I hate that I have to pay for it now along with a really expensive park ticket so it costs way more money than before. That’s what sucks and is ridiculous. I edited this but by the way you can still coordinate your day with genie, you just have to do it in the morning of that park day. You then plan to be by that area of the park around the time of your pass.
I’ll never get over the freaking slinky dog ride. Literally all they did was built a regular steel baby coaster, no theming or immersion whatsoever, and slapped Slinky onto it… *and people went nuts over it.* Literally the most mediocre ride in the entire section and it had 5-hour wait times. The whole thing feels like a Phineas and Ferb gag lmao
Makes me imagine a parody commercial where the announcer would say, "Make no mistake! We just slapped your favorite character on it and called it a day! But we know you're a dumb enough schmuck to wait in line all day for it!"
I’m not opposed to pay to play. I think it’s great for folks who can afford to add things on to their trips. What I am opposed to is making pay to play an integral part of the experience for an enjoyable trip to any of the parks.
If I went to Walt Disney World at some point since the introduction of Disney Genie, I probably would've left the park immediately after lunch because of all this nickel and diming!
Exactly. I know when I used to go to Six flags they had a "fast lane" service you could pay for to get on the e ticket rides but it wasn't that much more an guarranteed a spot on the ride at a certain time (I think it was 10 or 15 extra been years so I can't say for sure)
Yeah the minute Lightning Lanes were announced I knew it was WAY too cheap, it was a price point that you knew a LOT of people would happily slap down $25 but still have others object to paying more, the net result is that all "skip the line" queues would always be filled with people making standby queue guests stuck for a lot longer than necessary AND Disney would be financially encouraged to offer more slots for Lightning Lane than they did the old Fastpass system meaning yeah longer wait times for everyone not paying extra. Then compare to other parks e.g. Universal, where the cost to skip line is comparable to the cost to enter the park (with multi-day tickets), and a lot less people end up skipping the lines.
What I really miss was the Disney Express luggage handling service. I could drop my luggage off at the airport and not really have to worry about it again until I got back home at that airport. This is due to the hotel having TSA in the lobby. I would pay to have that service back.
Because of their lightweight plastic and design, plastic Straws are particularly prone to ending up in our waterways where they break up and account for a large percentage of all microplastics in your drinking water. Unlike those "Giant plastic shells" which are actually biodegradable and less likely to end up in your drinking water. Banning straws may not be an all time solution, but it's a start and far better then doing absolutely nothing. Can you prove otherwise? But yes keep living in denial, go right ahead and keep pretending there is nothing wrong with everything you casually throw away. You'll die one day and it will all be your kids and someone elses problem, right?
I recently found out that you can't have your souvenirs sent to your hotel if you were staying at the official Disney Hotels. At least in Disneyland. That was a huge perk!
You used to be able to buy Crunchie bars in England at the Epcot World Showcase. Disney stopped selling all Cadbury products at some point between 2011 and 2021. Sucks because Crunchie bars are hands down the best Cadbury item and they're very hard to find in the US.
It’s bad enough that ticket prices just to get in now range from min. $250 up to A GRAND or more!! But now that they’ve decided to charge for fast passes on rides, it’s like what the hell does that $250 entry charge even cover??!
Extended evening hours, which replaced evening extra magic hours (with less time) do NOT have shorter wait times. Just head to a popular ride during those hours and see how long that line is. My guess is you'll get two to three rides in the two hours if you want and "E" ticket rides.
Forgive me for sounding like your mom, but adding alcohol access inside the parks has changed them in a bad way. It has never been the same. Walt knew what he was talking about!
@@littlesongbird1 Yeah I'm kinda sad to find out how pervasive it is now. Like Epcot and California adventure are one thing, they're kinda geared more to the older crowd, and then it's more contained (I used to love getting a glowtini at ElecTRONica) . EVen the Cantina I can understand as long as it's kept to Galaxy's Edge which shouldn't be hard in DL since the entrance/exits to the area kinda bottle neck and could be used as passive checkpoints (though I could also totally get behind mocktails only till the PM hours so kids could maybe get more of the experience) . But finding out they sell booze in FantasyLand and magic kingdom just breaks my heart. And I do say this as someone who had 2 drinks at the cantina before leaving on each of my last 3 visits.
I love videos like these where you talk about changes to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland! A change I have noticed is that experiencing the West Coast and East Coast parks have gradually become more similar. Both locations have Genie + and individual Lightning Lanes, virtual queues, Mobile Order, etc.
We were AP holders for about 10 years, and even in that time, we saw a lot of these types of losses happening. Probably by 2016, the shine was off the apple, so to speak. The last time we set foot in a park was January 2020. Seeing some of these now (like the Magical Express, Lighting Lane, etc) is saddening but not at all surprising. And doesn't really give me any reason to go back any time soon.
My mom still has an ashtray that she bought in Disneyland back in the 1970s. It's probably a good guess that a Disneyland themed ashtray would not be an easy find these days!
If I go back to Disney the loss of fast pass will be rough on me because I can’t really handle rides for accessibility reasons and it was a good way to wait the same amount of time but in a better environment
I hope they make exceptions to the straw policy as a disability accomodation. Some people can't use reusable straws because of infection risk, and can't use paper straws because of various conditions, but need to be able to use a straw to drink.
We just stopped ordering drinks that require straws for my son. Carrying his plastic straws to the park was too much of a hassle. But that means everyone else just drinks water. It seems cruel to get a fun drink in front of him
Never a fan of serving alcohol within the park. Can imagine the waste of the availability of the extra toppings, and the amount that was thrown out every night. Star Wars hotel- great idea, probably great to experience, too too too expensive. Overnight parking when staying at a Disney hotel should be part of the price, shouldn't be an add on. And that sundae shown at the beginning of the peanut free deserts looks amazing. That's all for now!
FastPass is not costing Disney anything more because all guests are already paying to get into the parks.......They just saw away to make an extra profit!!!
Let go of my annual passes after 10 years…Disney Genie was a huge part of it. Disney is not magical anymore. I don’t miss my passes. But I miss the old Disney very much.
I wish that they would get rid of the skip-the-line system altogether and all other added cost schemes. It makes my day more about money than relaxing and fun. I’d like to feel more like a guest than an ATM for Disney.
Problem then is that people will complain about lines and wish there was a system in place to speed up the process... for themselves. And people will probably just spend money to pay others to wait in line for them. And Disney won't get a cut.
Disney Magical Express -- I miss you! It was such a great benefit for staying at WDW hotels. On our last trip, we priced the large buses, smaller shuttles, ride share, taxi, & limo van and found that the LIMO VAN WAS CHEAPER when you have more than 4 people. We had a limo driver waiting for us at baggage claim, the driver drove right up to the curb outside, and we had a private luxe van that dropped us off directly at our hotel. I'm sure that prices do vary, but check all options.
We used to go to WDW every year when I was a kid (I'm showing my age, here, but this was back in the late '70's) And I SO miss the If You Had Wings ride! Does anyone else remember that?! And the song: 🎶 "If you had wings...had wings.... had wings...."
The resort paid parking was ridiculous!! And, although the app is very convenient and informative, it's a shame we have to keep our faces in our phones all day.
The fire Dpt didn't put out the dragon. A cast member that worked on the attraction was fired for making a program or orientation of the fountain jets that turned on the island before it ever happened. JUST IN CASE IT HAPPENED. He was let go over it. later when it caught fire a coworker received a phone call from him and the program was still buried in the files and that is what put it out . the cast member live streamed the show even after he was let go. thats how much he loved his job.
Tom Petty sang this epic lyric... "As we celebrate mediocrity, all the boys upstairs want to see, How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free"
TP&TH fan here, but then he went and got a channel on siriusxm....the fan club price is ridiculous....I'll always be a fan, but it seems he enjoyed the $$ as well.
This doesn't sound like a fun vacation. Pay to get in. Reservations required for certain rides. Strict timelines and stressful online gladiator game to even get a spot in line? No thank you. That's a hard pass for me. Give me a book, a fire pit, a forest & a pop-up camper and I'm good.
You were already saying the years from this century the easy way, "TWENTY-eighteen," "TWENTY-nineteen," etc. So why did you start going with the harder way later: "two thousand twelve," "two thousand nineteen," etc.?
I love my spork. It's the best practical use souvenir ever. I use mine every day especially for breakfast! It's the perfect thing for soup too - it lets just the right amount of fluid out for every mouthful.
I'm actually surprised Disney hasn't made their own cell phone plan yet, since they seem adamant in people using their phones while at the parks, what a way to double your money in having your own Disney network plan
I don’t understand the virtual queue. I did it for guardians, and I was still in line for over an hour. When I did it for tron, the wait wasn’t that bad. What’s the point of virtual queue if you still have to wait forever?
Disney is too expensive and the waits are too long. I would love to take my wife and my grown children to the park in Florida. I got to go back in the early nineties, by myself (dad had a infected tooth). It has just gotten so expensive and the waits are so long, it is just not worth it. It is also looking like the new and old Universal parks are going to be better for the dollar.
We got stuck in a major thunderstorm and retreated to Pecos Bills. We kept our restless youngster amused with large amounts of hamburger dill pickles while we waited out the storm (it was much longer than the normal Florida afternoon downpour).
When my brother and I used to fly Eastern we would go to my Dad's for the summer. We were like around six and seven the first time. We flew by ourselves, and the agents would be there to help us change planes and get to where we needed to go. We also got our wings buttons. We were so excited, we were never afraid. That was back in the seventies.
In the seventies, kids were way more independent than they are today. They had to be because mom was working, and divorce rates skyrocketed in the seventies. @@Durwood71

By getting rid of the complementary Magical Express, more and more guests are seeking individual ride shares, with Disney as their SECOND stop. By making Target and others a first stop, guests can get their drinks and other essentials at drive up locations, and not pay $5 every single time they want a coke. They end up saving a lot more money, even after the cost of transportation.
@@Durwood71 Yes always. They can’t enforce this because my Target Coke looks identical to the cokes they sell at their hotels and parks. A few years ago they had to ban wagons because they just take up too much space. At Disneyland, young children are more likely going to be forced to walk, vs at WDW, but that also meant banning coolers. If you brought in a lunch box, they wouldn’t care. A full day at the park, you can’t really lug around that many drinks for your family, so I usually just had two in my backpack, one I held, and one my husband held, so 4 total for a family of 3. We would end up buying drinks for dinner, and possibly lunch if we didn’t finish what we brought into the park. If it was a cup, I would try to use their ice in my bottle. Or pour some of the drink back into the bottle since it’s easier to carry. Some things don’t taste as good hot, which is why my husband only gets one bottle and buys everything else, and why I usually end up just adding ice cubes sometimes to my second. These bottles are also used at the hotel, where we drink with breakfast, and when we get back from the parks, so they are all used, and we still buy $5 drinks, just not as many, and save a ton doing it. People got greedy though and started doing things like instacart, so all their groceries are shipped to the resort themself, rather than picked up. This means now they have to charge EVERYONE a flat $6 fee for every delivery because they simply need additional staffing and storage for this nonsense. I ended up shipping myself a $40 spirit jersey because I knew I wouldn’t get it before my flight, and had to pay that $6 fee, for something so small.
@@Durwood71I think foreign parks may have different policies, but I swear I heard no outside food at Universal Studios, but I never got stopped with my drinks. No outside food at Tokyo Disney, according to DFB Guide, but then she goes on about the difficulty in locating Coke Zero and diet, mentioning buying it at 7/11 and then bringing it, so I dunno if she is telling us to break the rules, or if it’s food specific, not beverage, which explains hour long lines for a waffle.
Of all the changes at Disney, the most regrettable is serving alcohol inside the parks. I like a nice cocktail myself, but it doesn't take a lot to google all the recent incidents as a result of too much alcohol.
I paid for the Sunshine Flyer on my last trip to Disney World in late 2022 and it was nowhere near the efficient or friendly experience that the Magical Express used to be. I'd recommend using Uber before booking the Sunshine Flyer.
It’s like EPCOT’s drinking around the world challenges. You can get drunk anywhere. You can get drunk at home. Why on earth would you want to get drunk in a public place like that? At least at a bar, there’s a minimal amount of people. At the parks, you are dealing with thousands of people. What’s so special about the drinks anyway? Is their frozen margaritas better than the ones back home?
@@UmmYeahOk Same reason people go to a restaurant instead of making the same thing at home. It's about the "experience" But yeah it is annoying because clearly they want to experience the fun of drinking or eating at a party but without the cleanup afterwards.

Went to Disney last year as a family and took my daughter to Magic Kingdom 2 months ago when we were down there for pop warner cheerleading nationals. Between last year's experience, and the day at Magic 2 months ago, I would NEVER go back. The Haunted Mansion broke down 3 times when we were on it. The 7 Dwarfs Mine Train broke down. The extra cost just to not to have to wait in like for 4 hours was obscene given the price of the entry and parking. This wasn't Walt Disney's dream......this is greed and corruption at its very best. Never. Ever. Again.
I really enjoyed reminiscing too…I haven’t been back since fast pass went away. I teach and only going in hot summer or busy holidays are not for me. But maybe one day I will be able to take off during the school year…but with so few subs, it is unlikely. Sigh
The Disney phone app sucks. There's no feature to help you meet up with other members of your group if you become separated. The map feature doesn't update as you walk so it isn't helpful for navigation. It's just a static picture of where you are at that moment but it never updates. We used our Google Maps to navigate instead and it did a better job.
if i recall right, this isn't actually the first time that exact fantasmic dragon animatronic has caught fire, it's just the worst time so far. it makes sense for them to finally rework how the effects work, seeing as you can only have that happen so many times before someone definitely is going to get very hurt.
I have never understood the logic behind creating any sort of cosmetic & mental affiliation between desserts and poop. Good riddance to that nasty stuff.
It's like when at baby showers someone has the bright idea of putting chocolate inside of nappies as "plates" Or the horror that was armpit candy... you fill a bag full of powder or some stuff and warm it up by sitting on it or putting it under your armpits then telling people "Hey I just put this under my butt for an hour! You should try it!"
AJ, it was NOT “$ price,” alone that led to the troubles with the Star Wars hotel. Disneys vision of the hotel had nothing to do with Lucas’ vision of said universe. Furthermore, the rides construction/architecture reflects little, if anything, of what Star Wars actually looks and feels like.
Regarding Magic bands, isn't it the case that keeping your phone running the entire day continuously using the app is pretty difficult? Doesn't it require recharging, either with batteries you bring with you or batteries they will sell you for exorbitant prices? Where Magic bands don't have that issue right? So this change means they can sell park goers expensive batteries to recharge their phones which they are required to use instead of their free bands.
We tried a virtual version of the Slinky Dog roller coaster when Disney presented it at the Orlando Science Center. This was before it was built in HS.
I agree with most of these, but for things like free Fastpass and no booze in the castle parks, "We'll make more money if we change this" does NOT equate to "We HAVE to change this."
Wish they didn't charge so much for park hopper pass. It seems it would disburse the crowds. Or make a way to only have the hopper on specific days since the best ticket prices are for multiple days. I'd like to plan a family trip, but tickets are crazy expensive when buying multiple tickets. And also discounts for adding on the Genie & lightning lane to multiple tickets.
The idea that Fast Pass+ was "costing" Disney money doesn't track. You're paying for entry and then to help control line flow, the Fast Pass was introduced. It allowed Disney to better pack in more guests by managing wait times. The idea that they needed to charge for Genie+ service because they couldn't afford it is false. The ever increasing ticket costs have a generous profit margin built in that covers overhead, including fixed costs like software to run the service (outsourced to the lowest cost third party vendor anyway). The whole system is designed to extract as many dollars possible from each guest. There was no sad, emotional hand wringing by Disney and that "they didn't want to charge but they had to." It was just a business decision.
I've not experienced genie + yet and I'm not sure I really want to. I'm not a fan of having to go from one side of the park to the other just for ride times. I would rather stroll through the park one area at a time at my own leisure and wait in line for times I deem worth it. AND! I don't have to pay extra for my way.
We never use it and have never had a problem doing every ride we want to do in the park. And we still have time for shows, food, and meeting characters. Genie+ is a ripoff.

I’ve never used it. Just arrive early. And go left. Stay in the area to do rides. Then go over to the next area. Do that.snack along the way. Never a problem.
The thing with that is most of my favorite rides have ridiculously long waits and aren’t worth waiting. So you are saying to just not ride them. That is really dumb and completely ridiculous. I could never. I don’t know what you’re thinking.
Don't know if you're still having issues but the sound volume and quality is fine for me. You may need to troubleshoot whatever device you're using to watch.
Honorable mentions: Parades in every park. EPCOT, MGM, even AK! Also, pre 9/11 security. It was much easier to bring in firearms and explosives before then. You only had one line, and you didn’t have to empty out your fanny pack. The scary thing is only a few years ago they added security at the TTA. Before, any suicide bomber or mass shooter could easily get on a ferry boat and go nuts, as the security check point was after unloading.
The thing though is they haven’t banned wagons. They’re still everywhere clogging up the walk ways and stores. Literally rolling playpens for kids to stay on tablets and not be present. And I’m not a smoker but the smoking area for MK is halfway down the walkway to Grand Floridian-not fair to the smokers.
I don’t like alcohol being served in the parks, like Walt and Roy. I agree alcohol isn't necessary to have a good time. Some folks just can't handle having it, sadly.
My husband and I decided in 2023 to get Universal Studios Hollywood platinum passes instead of magic keys, and I'm glad we went that route. We go at least once a month with no blackout days. Disneyland is more expensive with blackout days, even with the most expensive magic keys. Plus, with Universal Studios passes, parking is included, and with Disneyland parking is not included. Walt Disney is definitely rolling in his grave.

It's illegal for Disneyland to be a luxury only for rich people
What I really miss was the Disney Express luggage handling service. I could drop my luggage off at the airport and not really have to worry about it again until I got back home at that airport. This is due to the hotel having TSA in the lobby. I would pay to have that service back.
Luggage Handling does seem like the sort of perk that should be available for Deluxe resort guests or for an additional fee.
Neather Disneyland nor Disneyworld have the right to be a luxury only for rich people I DARE YOU PROVE OTHERWISE
No plastic straws but drinks still come in plastic cups
Plastic is bad in general, yes, but straws are especially dangerous to wildlife. That’s why plastic straws are singled out specifically.
Neither Disneyworld nor Disneyworld have a legal right to be a luxury only for rich people
Plastic straws = the devil
Giant plastic shells for each individual cupcake = still a-ok
Yes! It’s all hypocrisy
Depends on what the virtue signalers are pushing at the moment
@gc4697 "But...but...the statistics that 5th grader made up mean something!!!!"
Don’t forget that paper straws are even worse for the environment
I question "had to" stop on a lot of these. Disney CHOSE to stop many of these.
I question "shocking". Not one of those is shocking in the least.
I recently found out that you can't have your souvenirs sent to your hotel if you were staying at the official Disney Hotels. At least in Disneyland. That was a huge perk!
That perk had me buying more Merch!
I miss it. I think people would buy more stuff. Buy. How much does it cost Disney to implement. It’s all about the $$
Disney World too. I was there last month. At least I saved some money by buying less 😂
We loved this service. Yes, we would buy less in the future.
There is a big difference between "Can" and "Can't". Just saying...
You used to be able to buy Crunchie bars in England at the Epcot World Showcase. Disney stopped selling all Cadbury products at some point between 2011 and 2021. Sucks because Crunchie bars are hands down the best Cadbury item and they're very hard to find in the US.
Disney doesn't HAVE to cut any services. my friends it all boils down to $$$$$$$.
Us cast members have tooled an uptick in issues with guests related to alcohol. I personally think it’s a bad idea
Something any bartender could've told them
Us guests have noticed an uptick in super rude cast members. Y’all should fix that problem before finding others.
@@LeaverWildWhen cast members have to interact with guests like you it’s no wonder.
Neither Disneyworld nor Disneyland have a legal right to be a luxury only for rich people
It’s bad enough that ticket prices just to get in now range from min.
It's way too complecated to even go to Disneyland/World. I think I'll stay home.
Forgive me for sounding like your mom, but adding alcohol access inside the parks has changed them in a bad way. It has never been the same. Walt knew what he was talking about!
I feel like it made sense in epcot as some drinks that show case the countries do have alcohols in them
@@littlesongbird1 I agree, though they shouldn't have it at the others. It just creates problems.
They didn’t really remove the parking fee. It’s built into the price of the room. Even if you don’t have a car you’re still paying, unfortunately.
Did the room prices increase the same time they removed parking fees?
We were AP holders for about 10 years, and even in that time, we saw a lot of these types of losses happening. Probably by 2016, the shine was off the apple, so to speak. The last time we set foot in a park was January 2020.
Seeing some of these now (like the Magical Express, Lighting Lane, etc) is saddening but not at all surprising.
And doesn't really give me any reason to go back any time soon.
My mom still has an ashtray that she bought in Disneyland back in the 1970s. It's probably a good guess that a Disneyland themed ashtray would not be an easy find these days!
I have one. I wonder what it is worth.
Gave up on ever attending a Disney park again. The price gouging is over the top.
I miss The Magical Express!
Me too!
Sugar cane straws are also offered as mentioned in the video
We just stopped ordering drinks that require straws for my son. Carrying his plastic straws to the park was too much of a hassle. But that means everyone else just drinks water. It seems cruel to get a fun drink in front of him
@@DelphineDenton I didn't realize those were more durable than paper straws. I hope those act as a good alternative then.
We just stopped visiting Disney parks in 2020 when we sold all our DVC points. We feel so much better now! Our lives are so much less stressful.
The irony of talking about the plastic straws while holding large plastic cups with plastic lids 🥴
Let go of my annual passes after 10 years…Disney Genie was a huge part of it. Disney is not magical anymore. I don’t miss my passes. But I miss the old Disney very much.
Same here but with Universal now being far easier to holiday well spend more time (therefore money) with them..
Wow, how ridiculous that it's gone up to $30 per day for non-"residents" of Disney to park at the parks!
I wish they'd stop the price gouging!
The story about poop candy is pure cinema. This is my favorite Disney Blog
Tom Petty sang this epic lyric... "As we celebrate mediocrity, all the boys upstairs want to see,
How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free"
TP&TH fan here, but then he went and got a channel on siriusxm....the fan club price is ridiculous....I'll always be a fan, but it seems he enjoyed the $$ as well.
This doesn't sound like a fun vacation. Pay to get in. Reservations required for certain rides. Strict timelines and stressful online gladiator game to even get a spot in line?
No thank you. That's a hard pass for me. Give me a book, a fire pit, a forest & a pop-up camper and I'm good.
My last trip was right before the did genie plus. I feel like I caught the last breaths of the magic.
You were already saying the years from this century the easy way, "TWENTY-eighteen," "TWENTY-nineteen," etc. So why did you start going with the harder way later: "two thousand twelve," "two thousand nineteen," etc.?
I miss the trees in front of the castle with the fireflys in them when you could stand there for free and the only adult attraction, Alien Encounter.
"Had to". really? nobody forced them to start charging for fastpass
The paper straws sucks. The change the flavor of the drink and to a favorable flavor. We have decided to literally bring our own straws.
Disney should have a Star Wars after hours event. Interactive, each guest would have their own mission, just like the hotel, but at Galaxy’s Edge.
We got stuck in a major thunderstorm and retreated to Pecos Bills. We kept our restless youngster amused with large amounts of hamburger dill pickles while we waited out the storm (it was much longer than the normal Florida afternoon downpour).
You don’t know about the Mickey Ds fry stand outside thunder mountain unless you are a Disneyland OG 🙌🏼
@@Durwood71
Something she forgot to mention is that Delta became the official airline of Disney after Eastern folded.
I'm sorry..,when I'm on vacation I do NOT want to bet up so early to Try to get a ride pass!! Probably never going again because I'm not going to spend my trip staring at my phone and take a loan to afford!!
Nailed it! Sick of all of that! We really noticed how much phone looking we had to do.
We used to go to WDW every other year until they stopped free shuttle aervice from the airport! They lost our big multi - generational family after 25 yrs!!!!!
That seems like a really small thing to stop going over, especially considering all the other changes listed in the video.
Was it really the alcohol or another reason? I notice patterns.
can you start doing time stamps on these lists?
I paid for the Sunshine Flyer on my last trip to Disney World in late 2022 and it was nowhere near the efficient or friendly experience that the Magical Express used to be. I'd recommend using Uber before booking the Sunshine Flyer.
wow what happened?
I have another... Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom . That game was such a fun experience and now I have a bunch of cards without a purpose.
I think the no-booze tradition should be re-established in MK and Disneyland. People act like inebriated jerks and set a bad example to the kids.
In Epcot esp. it’s annoying.
@@UmmYeahOk
Same reason people go to a restaurant instead of making the same thing at home. It's about the "experience"
But yeah it is annoying because clearly they want to experience the fun of drinking or eating at a party but without the cleanup afterwards.
@@stylesrjyou go to a restaurant to eat, you go to a bar to drink. You don’t go to a theme park to get completely hammered in front of thousands of people. Plus you’re at your most vulnerable. People could take advantage of your condition.
Oh no! Plastic straws! The whole park is wrapped in plastic. But at least YOU can feel all warm and fuzzy about yourself for doing nothing about nothing 🤣.
I saw the dragon on fire on the news when I was at the pets hospital waiting for my dog to get back to us luckily my dog is ok now
One of the most important things Disney removed is the accessibility passes how come you didn’t mention that
Oh man I remember McDonalds being a presence at the Disney parks. Used to be in Frontierland and by the dinosaur at California Adventure.
What about Pal Mickey .. he used to give you information around the parks and keep the kids happy when he had. Something to say
I was 34 when I bought mine, and I still used him. I loved it, but then again, I'm a big kid.
We may have taken Fast Passes for granted. But now Disney is taking us for granted. We don't have endless amounts of money.
There will always be enough upper/upper middle class families in the world with enough money to burn to fund Disney lol the parks started to decline when they realized no matter how insanely expensive everything is, people will still come lol
@@clamcrewcarclub6017 Somebody has to fill the economy hotels. The people you speak of won't stay there.

We didn't though. Fast Pass was included in the price of Admission. Don't let DFBGuide gaslight you into thinking that it was a freebee.

I actually like the new genie+ and feel like we can ride way more rides with it!! I don’t love paying for lightning lanes, I wish they’d just do a virtual queue for those, but there’s only one ride per park with the paid LL option
yeah I remember using it over 5 times in one day
@@dreamkittywas it at EPCOT? I think that was the ONLY time I managed to get more than 2 rides out of it. Hate to think what would have happened had I not woken up at 7am each day. Might’ve only gotten one. This was late Jan/early Feb BTW, so not exactly what they consider “peak time.” Essentially after the second, the only things available were stuff that were typically walk on anyway.
Cool video, thanks! Happy Disneying!
My family is done with Disney.
The plastic straw problem is a BIG issue in the disability community
How are plastic straws a problem?
Paper straws collapse too easily and some people need to drink through a straw
I’m surprised there aren’t lawsuits over this, because paper straws can be a choking hazard for some people
Went to Disney last year as a family and took my daughter to Magic Kingdom 2 months ago when we were down there for pop warner cheerleading nationals.
Sigh
Selling alcohol in the parks was probably the single biggest mistake in Disney history.
disney parks sound complicated now
Very 😔😔
Don’t worry though, Universals are a doddle😉😉
too far to go for me@@MC-nb6jx
Disney parks are complicated if you're trying to do absolutely everything in a minimal period of time.
I could never afford to go to Disney ever 😢
the paper straws dissolve quite quickly. Plastic straws could stand a lot when it came to milkshakes.
I have never understood the logic behind creating any sort of cosmetic & mental affiliation between desserts and poop. Good riddance to that nasty stuff.
yeah that's just too weird to me and kind of bizarre for a disney park
mmm this poop tastes so good 😂
It's like when at baby showers someone has the bright idea of putting chocolate inside of nappies as "plates"
Or the horror that was armpit candy... you fill a bag full of powder or some stuff and warm it up by sitting on it or putting it under your armpits then telling people "Hey I just put this under my butt for an hour!
Has got too expensive for us now, all they want is more of your money which takes away the enjoyment
Our family Fast Pass experience in 2011 was literally magical. Now it sucks.
This is very comprehensive. Good job! 👍🏻
I say, Learned Patents my ignorant ones... feeding the beast teaches no lessons to the gluten company. Starve it & it will learn that it got fed fine the old ways!
STOP Buying G+ & free will return.
@@jeffaltier5582That means you don’t like the whole park, which isn’t the majority so that isn’t an option for most guests.
Another fine video AJ but afraid once again there is a real issue w sound volume? Wonder if others are experiencing this?..Thanks, RR
Don't know if you're still having issues but the sound volume and quality is fine for me. You may need to troubleshoot whatever device you're using to watch.
No issues here with sound..
RIP Starcruiser. You’ll be missed. Such a fun time.
Basically, everything that was free is now an expensive option.
I was at Disney World MK a couple of weeks ago and the dragon was breathing fire. My favorite part of the parade.
