A guy by the name of Pixel Brush made a video talking about the DDoS attack and it's actually highly likely to NOT be an IP leak but rather a server security issue. If it was an actual DDoS attack then the lag would persist long after the game had closed, which no one has reported happening.

Had an oni do this on rpd. Kicked main gen, left, I waited a couple of seconds to go back to the gens, not even a half second later, no heartbeat, nothing, he grabbed me off the gen.

Watching content creators getting tunneled or camped most games makes me glad I uninstalled this shit long ago.
i was gonna buy this game after i tried the free weekend promotion, really good game imo but then i heard about the ddos vulnerability so i give up, but to me its mind boggling those content creators still playing this game and they even know the ddos issues, maybe they are using a vpn idk , i cba to buy a vpn just to play a video game safe tho

"We have thoroughly investigated these reports over the past week. As of yet, there is no evidence we've seen to suggest any personal IP addresses have been leaked". The DDOSSing issue actually comes from Steam and not from Dead by Daylight itself. There is an option on Steam to share your ip address for quicker matchmaking, make sure you have it set to never.
